Is this marriage?

How can anything ever be alright between her and that stone hearted young man. Nothing matters to him besides himself and what he wants. His grandfather's words don't even matter to him, how can Ava Leon ever mean anything to him. But he shouldn't have treated her like he did the previous night. That is the height of unfaithfulness of any man. If he didn't honour their anniversary and left her stranded in the storm, she wouldn't think horrible of him like she does at the moment but he was caught in a scandal with his ex-girlfriend. Is she even his ex-girlfriend? From what she saw last night, she's his current girlfriend, they're still knitted together in a love affair. He was having affairs as a married man and his wife was too scared to raise an eyebrow. He could fuck another woman before his wife and she would scringe away and hide herself to cry her pains out. Is this marriage or slavery? “No Ms. Alice, nothing is ever going to be alright. Adrian Leste

With Another woman

Adrian was almost through with his breakfast when his phone chirped. He saw who the caller ID was and he didn't answer the phone. It rang the second and third time and Richard suspected who the caller might be. Maybe that's Ava's parents, he thought. “Why are you not answering your phone?” Richard asked and paused his meal, turning to glance at his son. Adrian is stubborn, a typical trait from his dad. “It's Mr Leon. I don't owe that man anything so I don't know why he is calling me” Adrian replied flippantly. If there's anyone who owes him an explanation, it's his parents and grandfather. “He is your father in-law. You should respect him and answer your phone” Richard cautioned. No matter what, he is married to Mr Leon's daughter. “I do not acknowledge his daughter as my wife and I do not see him as related to me in any way. So his daughter might be living in this mansion doesn't mean he has the audacity to call my cell phone number” Adrian responded

A changed Woman

When Ava arrived home, she met her mother-in-law. Her father in-law had definitely left for his usual meetings with investors and partners. He is never out of meetings just like his son. She cannot even tell which of the two men are busier than the other. The only differences between them was that Richard Lester returned home to his wife while Adrian Lester wandered away to the thighs of a mistress. Anna glanced at Ava from her head to her toes and pouted her lips. There isn't anything wrong with her after all. She looks alright except that her facial expression looks pale. “Good morning mother” Ava greeted. Now, everything seemed to be different from her point of view. Calling Anna Lester mother seemed to irritate her. “You aren't bad after all. I thought you would be hospitalised for days or probably weeks. But you are strong and well immune. Thank goodness for the Lester family nutritious meal…”Anna Lester was saying when Ava simply strode away. Alice h

Ava's Request

Adrian and Lola went for lunch and Patrick called Adrian, he wanted to introduce a certain person to him that would handle his design work. “Meet me at the restaurant, let's talk about it” Adrian Lester instructed. That way, Patrick and Oscar went to the restaurant where they met Adrian and his girlfriend. Patrick Connor introduced Adrian Lester and his girlfriend to Oscar and did the same to Adrian. Adrian shared lunch together with the duo, a situation that Lola completely dislikes. Somehow she's not comfortable with Adrian being with different people, it makes her feel insecure. Patrick Connor already dislikes Lola. When a woman doesn't stay away from an ex-boyfriend despite being married, such women are characterless. Lola's return to New Jersey was going to ruin Adrian's marriage completely beginning from the scandal of the previous evening. Lola noticed that Patrick wouldn't spare her a glance after saying hi. He even introduced her as his fri

Are you for real?

Adrian Lester just kept his gaze on her without blinking. Ava Leon also stared back, her eyes shooting daggers at him and Adrian wondered if he was staring straight at Ava Leon. He'd been married to this woman for two years but they lived as strangers under the same roof and he's never gotten anything to do with her. How come he'd never seen this audacity in her. She called him a cruel nature man, an unfaithful man and thinks stepping into his room was something she was enduring. That's really crazy of her. But then, she demands for a divorce. They both were going to be separated from each other, something he'd envisaged and was thinking of discussing it with his family. A smirk appeared on his face and his gaze was softened as he stared back at Ava. She didn't for once take her eyes off nor did she look remorseful in her utterance. What he was seeing in those eyes of hers was pure determination and hatred for him. That's nice. He'd wanted this hatred in her

Piece of her mind

There was a needle dropping silence that followed. Now, everyone is certain that something has gone wrong with Ava. Richard Lester fixed his gaze on Ava, placing his cutleries down. Adrian Lester squinted. Her guts! Has she always been like this in the past while covering up with a quiet subtle pretence? Or had she just decided to bring out her true personality? “Yes, we are family Ava Leon. You are the daughter in-law of this family and we couldn't treat you less than our own daughter” Richard claimed. “I have never openly disagreed with you, father in-law, but today I am doing so without a feeling of remorse. If you think I belong to this family as one of its members, then you are not telling the truth…” Ava was saying when Adrian interrupted her. “Watch your words, Ava. You can't call my dad a liar” he snapped at her. This low class dares to insinuate that his father was lying? Who the hell does she think she is? “Did I say that your father is a liar? Do

My worst nightmare

Ava Leon paused when he heard Adrian's words. This fellow is a top notch rascal. They've agreed to keep it silent until it's over. So why is he announcing it to the entire family now? She should have known that he is an asshole. There isn't a single thing good about the spoiled brat. Anyways, she's not afraid what their reactions would be, after all, they've all silently hope that she leaves their family quickly. “And as it is, I had already informed my lawyer to prepare the paperwork as soon as possible,” He added. This is what he'd been waiting to hear from her for a long time. And now, she made it happen on the platter of gold without stress. He doesn't want her to remain another day in the Lester family if it were possible, but now, he'd have to wait until the lawyer gets through with it. He was still thinking about it when he saw his mother stood up suddenly in fury and went over to Ava, slapping her across the face. “Just stop it, Anna” Richard bel

Happy Again

Ava strides away, ignoring the furious dude she had married by mistake. If he thinks he is so mighty and he couldn't talk back to him, he must be mistaken. That era had passed. Now, tooth for tooth and an eye for an eye. She would give him a backlash however he throws it at her. That's how they'll remain until the divorce comes through. She decided to go visit her parents rather than going to see her professor. She would prepare for that the next morning. Adrian's complexion hadn't recovered from the purple as his chauffeur drove his car close to where Ava Leon stood, a few distance away, waiting to get a taxi. How dare she lash at him with her words? Does she want to die? Did she know he can ruin her entire family in a single hour? How dare she? “Sir, ma'am is by the road, should I pick her?” The chauffeur demanded, gradually bringing the car to a slow as they got near to where Ava stood. But rather than receive a response, he felt the atmosphere in th

She told her parents

“That's okay Papa and Mama. You both are going to make me go emotional” Ava Leon complained in a choked voice. Her tears gave way again despite trying hard not to let it drop. Her parents are her life and she loves them so much. She wants to love her mother-in-law and her father in-law the same way, but they don't understand the language of love. So it doesn't matter if she speaks love, acts love, shows love and does everything in love. They won't understand it because they don't understand the language of love. Happily Ava Leon served the dishes. Her father couldn't eat the regular meal but was placed on a special diet. Inwardly she sobbed, seeing what ill health had subjected her Papa to. Midway through the meal, Sam Leon asked “How's Adrian?” With his eyes fixed on his daughter. He knows it when a woman is happy in a marriage, but it doesn't seem that his daughter is happy. She's happy and smiled. But beneath those actions, he could see an unhappy wo

Lola Spied

What he wants for his daughter is happiness. He is not a greedy or covetous man. Heaven knows he didn't force his daughter into that marriage because of the Lester family fortune. He is a man of character and reputation. He might not be wealthy or be able to afford a three square meal but he has held onto his integrity for these many years and he was never going to relinquish it for anything in this life. “If you want it,then you have our full support dear. We only want you to be happy. If being married to Adrian Lester would ruin your happiness, then walk away from that marriage with your sanity still intact” Clara declared. Ava carefully raised her head. Her parents are in support of her divorce? Wow, she was worried that it would break them and was hesitating on telling them initially. She smiled through her tears and hugged her mother. Kissed her Papa's hands and the happiness returned again. As Adrian Lester arrived at the office, he was having a series of
