Camilla's tears flowed freely as she picked herself from the ground. Her pants were ruined and there was a wide tear at the knee. She was tired. Honestly, she was tired of life. She didn't choose to be married into the Sinclair's family, yet it seemed she was being punished for it. This was all her father's fault. If only he had quitted his gambling habits, he would have been alive, and she wouldn't have been suffering for what she had no hand in. Now the only job she had been fortunate to get was gone. She had stayed with Nick for three good years, yet she never knew he was the owner of NS Fashion House. It just proved how phony their marriage had been. As she silently walked away, softly crying, Dahlia stepped out of the shop and called to her. "Camilla. Please wait."Camilla paused and slowly turned around. She wiped her eyes as Dahlia hurried towards her. "I'm so sorry for what happened in there." Dahlia said, placing a comforting hand on Camilla's shoulder. "I might not kno

Camilla started her job as a waitress the very next day, and just like Derek warned her, it wasn't easy. The men were loud and vulgar, requesting for bottle after bottle of liquor. They yelled curses when they didn't get their drinks quickly enough and banged the table whenever the got into an argument. Camilla felt like her feet were on fire. She kept maneuvering her way from the lounge to the bar, carrying silver trays filled with expensive alcohol. She wished the men could all be kicked out, but it was impossible. They were rich and they had the money to spend. That evening, she arrived for her shift dressed in the outfit for the night. A short skirt with panty hose and the lounge's T-shirt. She put on sneakers instead of heels so she wouldn't get tired easily. Her hair was wrapped tightly in a bun at the base of her neck and with her short apron tied around her waist, she was ready for the night's work. When the first customer called out to her, she plastered a polite smile o

They took the lounge's back door where several bodyguards were standing watch. Nick's dark, sleek Rolls-Royce was parked in the driveway behind the lounge and one of the bodyguard handed him the keys as they stepped out. Camilla slipped into the passenger's seat silently and sighed as the comfy bucket seat enclosed her snugly. Her skirt rode up her thighs but she didn't bother dragging it down because her legs and thighs were hidden behind the panty hose. The bodyguards kept their faces averted as Derek got into the car and started it. The sleek car purred to life and slowly backed out of the driveway before accelerating away. Camilla watched other cars zip by as Nick floored the accelerator. The silence between them was comfortable and the only sound was the soft purring of the engine. The night sky was filled with stars and a half moon peeked from behind the clouds. The interior of the car had a sweet minty fragrance which reminded Camilla of Derek's cologne. That was exactly h

The next morning when Camilla arrived at the lounge, she knew something was wrong immediately she stepped inside. It was empty and only the waitresses and janitors were around, along with Jacob, the barman. When she stepped in, everyone stopped their various chores and began to mutter amongst themselves. Camilla stood confused, wondering if it was because of the incident that happened with Nick the previous night. Unable to stand it, she walked further in and dropped her bag on the counter. "What's up?" She called out to Ashley and Sophie, the only girls she had befriended. "Did something happen? Why is everyone staring at me strangely?""You haven't heard what happened?" Ashley asked. "What happened?" Camilla repeated. "Is it the incident with Mr. Sinclair?"No, not that." Sophie cut in. "You're all over the news, Camilla. Someone took a photo of you and Mr. Donovan last night.""What?" Camilla shrieked. She felt her face turn pale as her blood ran cold. Not again, she thought.

Derek's hand closed over hers in a warm handshake, sealing the deal. They both stood there, silently gazing into each other's eyes, lost in their own thoughts. Derek was glad that he had finally found a way to take care of the issue. Once the entire New York knew he was getting married, there would be an uproar. It would be on everyone's lips and the news would go on for months. But definitely, it would die down. He was counting on that. As for Camilla, she hoped she hadn't just made the biggest mistake of her life by accepting Derek's proposal. If there was one thing she was happy for, it was a chance to finally have her revenge on Nick Sinclair. "So, the terms of the contract are clear." Derek voiced out, pulling her out of her thoughts. He released her hand and both of them sat down. Then he picked up an envelope and handed it to her. "Everything you need to know are in there. Feel free to ask any questions.""Were you so confident that I would accept?" Camilla asked as she op
