~Tate’s Point of View~“If a woman says she’s fine, you should break out the bullet proof vests,” I whisper, as Rowan and Luc both pace outside the bathroom where Harlow had locked herself in with Reha.I sat on a chair I’d moved near the door, hating to admit that I was still a bit wobbly on my leg after being shot. *Not the time for jokes idiot, even I know that,* Colt whines, as he paces in my head.I didn’t have a ton of experience with real long term relationships with women, but my parents were hot and cold more than often when I was growing up. Not to mention since I’m the youngest, I saw how my sisters were.*And ever think the hot and cold is why they had so many pups,* Colt says, as if I should have known. I make a face and cringe.“Baby, let one of us in. Any one of us,” Rowan says, putting his hand on the door and begging. Any of us could break the door down. Rowan or I could teleport to the other side. But we wouldn’t dare do that to her.“She’s never had to face one of h

~Rowan’s Point of View~“That’s it acushla take what we give you,” I groan, as I fuck my mate. I hold Harlow’s back to my chest, as I’m on my knees pounding into her soaked pussy. Filled up with Tate’s seed and her slick that is coating me.Luc lays on his back before her, his mouth suctioned to her clit. I keep sneaking looks down at him and his dick flopping around, but I’m also caging my body to Harlow’s and holding her arms firmly so she’s right where I want her. I can’t help but steal glances at Tate, on his knees next to us, hard again and stroking himself. He’s far more handsome than I should admit, especially since I know he’s not even remotely interested in being anyone but Harlow’s lover. If I linger too long on him, I risk pissing him off, freaking him out or both. But damn, the male is exquisitely built. He’s the definition of what you’d expect a true Alpha male wolf to be. Tall, tan and muscular, thick hands from working outside and yet nimble and quick from his warrior

~Rowan’s Point of View~“Yep, the mate killed him, your mom took his soul. And damn is there some seriously juicy shit there. Obviously without a fuller scope I can only capture some of things lingering around the surface. But I would wager that Quinn and Killian had been in cahoots for decades,” Cian says, as if he’s talking about the weather. Not murder and a councilor on the take.Valencia huffs and crosses her arms, but seems bored. My mom plays with her nails and can’t be bothered.Cian is gifted telepath, and there’s no hiding any truth from him. I rub my hand over my face, doing all I can to keep my devil in check. He wants out, he wants his pound of flesh. It’s impossible. I can’t kill my mother. Technically speaking the world may be better off without Quinn. Does that mean he deserved to die? Not sure. But I don’t see either mother or Valencia really being a threat to anyone else. “If you want me to really get into her head, I’ll have to get my witch to come out too,” he sa

~Harlow’s Point of View~“Who knew you could dance,” I say, teasing my devil. He twirls me around again, making me laugh. “Are you kidding? Mother made me take lessons. Knowing how and wanting to are not the same thing. I guess Tate and I have that in common. Both of us had big shoes to fill in our own ways, parents only concerned with keeping up the image,” he says, watching Tate fighting with his parents.I sigh, hating it for him. I know his dad is extremely overbearing, but he can’t just act like a brat who didn’t get his way. I almost wish Tate did want a physical relationship with Luke and Rowan, cause old Tyson would probably pop his big old head right off his shoulders. Hope laughs at the visual. When I find myself dancing with Luke, I feel like the giddy teenager I am. Rowan makes me feel too grown up and serious, but Luke even with his age makes me feel the part of the high schooler. “What’s going on in that head of yours sunflower,” he whispers, as we sway gently to a slow

~The Next Evening~~Harlow’s Point of View~“Give it to me or I’ll… I’ll… get someone to do something very bad to you,” I shout, my voice cracking. Threatening Angel is like an ant fighting a cougar. I know it's pointless, but I've never felt more pathetic, more desperate.“He was very clear in his instructions and it hasn’t even been that long-” Angel stops herself, and her gaze travels over to a lifeless Luke. Rowan is kneeled beside him, has been for hours and I don’t know how he can stand it. My legs would be screaming.“Whatever he’s left for me is MINE,” I shout, as Tate’s big hands come around me, and pull me against his chest.*But we’re not admitting he’s gone,* Hope sniffles, defeated. When the magic was going on last night I felt Luke’s pain, all his mates did. None of us slept, none of us ate. I feel hollow, sick and empty. And it isn’t from the hunger.Tate kisses the side of my head and it only makes it worse. What if Luke never holds me again? What if he never kisses me
