Mima’s POV“You’re taking him with you?” Rake said as he stared at me. His voice was calm as he spoke, and it helped to calm my racing heart, expecting his refusal.I met his stare, my arms tightening protectively around Kia. “Yes.”Beck shifted beside him, looking ready to intervene, but Rake didn’t break eye contact with me. Then, to everyone’s shock, he exhaled and nodded. “Alright.”A beat passed.Zahra let out a loud, exaggerated gasp. “It’s the kiss, isn’t it?” Heat shot up my neck. “Zahra—”She burst out laughing, and Beck followed suit, clapping a hand to Rake's back dramatically. Even Daria snickered behind her hand.Rake arched a brow, then smirked. “Maybe.” I gaped at him.Zahra collapsed onto the bed, gasping with laughter. “Oh, this is the best day of my life. Who would have thought I'd see a day like this? The big bad lycan king and my sweet childhood best friend”I scowled, picking up a pillow and chucking it at her head. “Pack faster before I leave you behind.”She on

Mima's POV“What do you want to tell me? Spill it out.” I turned to Dylan to hear him out. I felt Zahra’s hand on my wrist as she tried to tug me out of the room but I didn't want to leave.“Well, glad you made the right choice.” He smirked and walked over to his desk and sat on it.“There's this maid... what's her name again?” He placed his hand on his chin, faking trying to remember. My heart sped up because I knew who he was referring to, but maybe she wasn't the one.“Oh yes! Julia. That's her name. Wasn't she your friend while you were here? Have you seen her around lately?” He stared me in the eye, his smirk growing wider.“What did you do to Julia!” I screamed at him in anger. He couldn't have possibly killed her, would he?Zahra tried her best to hold me back but I tugged my hands away and stomped towards him.All colour drained from his face when I grip his shirt and pull him towards me.“What did you do to Julia? Speak this instant before I gorge your eyes out with my bare h

Mima's POV“The rules, the first person to leave the oyer incapable of moving on their own, wins. No shifting and no claws or teeth. It's going to be a pure fist match.” The moderator said as he looked between the both of us. I nodded at him, accepting the rules of the match.I looked at my people once more giving them a small smile before looking back at Stephanie and her condensing smile. The moderator left the circle and a whistle was blown.Stephanie didn't waste a second as she rushed to me with so much force that I was tackled to the ground. I raised my hands to block my face just like it was taught to reduce damage. She didn't waste a moment before throwing punches at me.She kept on hitting me, not giving me space to gather myself and the roars of the crowd got louder. They were shouting her name so loudly cheering her on.She took a second to hit me and I used that opportunity to push her off me and put her in a headlock. The crowd booed at me and Stephanie was trying to pry

Mima's POVRake's smile fell and his brows furrowed slightly, his lips pressing into a thin line as he stared at Julia, looking directly at her wounds.Julia squirmed in her seat, shifting uncomfortably under the scrutiny. Her fingers fidgeted with the hem of her dress, and she cast a nervous glance my way as if silently asking for help.I elbowed Rake in the ribs. He flinched and looked down at me with his brow raised and I mouthed later. He gave a subtle nod and looked away from Julia.I sighed, turning my attention back to her. “I was thinking... when I go back home, I want you to come with me.”Julia blinked. “Come with you?”Rake’s brow arched slightly at my words, but he remained silent.I nodded. “Yes. I don’t think you should stay here. It’s not safe, and you don’t owe them anything.”Julia hesitated.Rake finally spoke. “That might be a little complicated.” I frowned at him. “Why?”He leaned back to the wall and crossed his arms. “Because Julia is still a member of Dylan’s pa

Rake’s POV“Rake, sir,” the maid’s voice calls softly through the door. “A letter for you.”I sit up in bed, instantly awake, rubbing my eyes. I throw on a robe and open the door. She hands me a letter and immediately I glance at the seal, I recognise it.“Thank you,” I mutter, and she nods, disappearing back down the hall.I sit down on the bed, the thick paper crinkling in my hands as I break the seal and unfold the letter.Alpha Rake, we’ve found leads on the strange who kidnapped Mima. We also have new information on Kia’s past. Come back immediately. It’s urgent.~BeckI run my hand through my hair in frustration. We have to go back.Mima was sleeping on the bed peacefully with Kia tucked beside her. He had been sleeping here ever since that day he spoke to me. Mima stirred and slowly opened her eyes. She looked around the room before her eyes landed on me. She looked at the letter in my hand and raised a brow.“You’re up early,” she comments, her voice light, though I can tell
