Semua Bab Mates Deception : Bab 181 - Bab 190

Donovan’s povI walked into my study and slammed the door shut. I was angry. I had waited too long. My spies were still not saying anything that night. No news. No messages. No nothing.I laughed and nodded while sitting on my chair as I looked at the window.Where the fuck was my child? I picked up my phone and called Damien as I had not yet heard from him but sighed when he didn’t pick as I tossed my phone aside.Just then, the door opened. One of my spies walked in. With his thin and lanky body he smiled and bowed.“You better have good news for me,” I grunted as he nodded. He closed the door behind him. “Alpha Donovan,” he said. “I just have to tell you the truth…”“Then start talking.”He stepped forward slowly. “Kieran found them,” he said.I stood up. “What do you mean?”He lowered his head. “He took out your spies. All of them. Killed them. Clean work.”I frowned. My hands clenched. “That bastard,” I said. “He thinks he’s smart.”“He is strong,” the spy said.“I didn’t ask wh

Kieran’s povI stood in the hut, the baby on the table as I sighed and looked around. The witch whose name was Alira smiled and stepped toward me.“Is it really yours?” Alira asked slowly, her voice low and serious.I nodded. “Yes. He’s mine.”She blinked. “But… how? I mean, I never knew you had a mate.”I sighed and went further into the room. “I don’t have a mate. This child came from something… something I didn’t know existed.”Her face scrunched up as she stepped towards me. “Kieran, cut it out, who’s the mother?”I looked down at the child. “A woman from Donovan’s pack.”The woman’s eyes went wide. “What? You can’t be serious.”I nodded. “I am. But before she stays back there to be a spy for me we were close. We were… together. I didn’t know she was pregnant. She never told me.”Alira stared at me for a long while. “And now she’s in Donovan’s pack?”“Yes,” I said. “She went back as a spy. She was helping us from the inside. But now… I don’t know how she is. I can feel something i

Kieran’s POV I felt my way through Donovan’s pack house, slipping from one pool of shadow to the next. Outside silver moonlight spilled across a slate-gray sky, but the world was black here beneath the leaves. My heart skittered and bumped, finding strength in its own pounding as I tried to avoid the guards. ‘Be still was my only chant. Be silent.’ I thought to myself as I wondered how I had even gotten into this pack.It had been easy. Donovan had one of the laziest security detail in the whole kingdom. It was easy to slip in and slip out.Donovan’s pack house spread out vast before me—an ocean of rooms and halls to drown within.I picked my way carefully over groaning wood as I wondered what room sirella would be in now she had given birth.I decided to go to the place we usually meet. I reached the barn house. This was a big wooden building where they kept animals and supplies. I stopped at the door, trying to figure out how to get inside seeing as the door has a changed locked

Kieran’s POV I made my way through the dark halls of the packhouse. My feet were slow, light and silent against the carpeted floor. I held my breath as I tiptoed down, slowing my heartbeat to a rate that seemed human. Stay hidden. That was all that mattered. No one could know I was here. Because if they did, I would be dead before anything happened.Moonlight streamed in from reinforced windows on one side of the hallway but it was dark enough for me to see without being spotted myself. Keeping close to the wall, I maneuvered through with ease caused by years of experience doing this in packhouses across the kingdom. My body moved like I knew what I was doing. My eyes saw it all. I went through corners of the packhouse hidden by shadows. Places only an Alpha or a ghost would know. Suddenly, I stopped my pacing. The castle was empty.Just silence.I rounded a corner to see an old man in a brown robe shuffling by. He walked on with muttering as he didn’t see me.I waited until he pas

Kieran’s povShe looked around weakly. “The bells… they’re loud. What’s going on up there? Why is the pack in such chaos?”I refused to say anything as she sighed and looked at me with worried eyes.“Oh dear. Kieran… what did you do?”I looked away from her as I felt my insides burning.“We need to go. They’ll be here soon.”“I’m not… leaving until… you tell me what is going on.”I didn’t have time to argue right now. I had risked a lot to come here and save her and now she was giving me reasons for why she would not follow me out of here. I would not allow it. She had to come with me or I would drag her out by force.“I’m not asking again. Let’s go.”“No!” She yelled. “Kieran… what did you do?”There was no point in arguing with her. The sirella I knew was back. Even when she was weak she knew how to tug at my pieces.“I killed Donovan.”Her eyes grew wide. She blinked as if she hadn’t understood me at first. “You… killed him? Already? Why? It’s too early. This wasn’t a part of the p
