Chapter 1

On our wedding anniversary, I waited for my husband, Jordan Smith, to return home. I only received a call from him late at night. “I’m working overtime tonight, so I won’t be going back. You…”I heard a clear female voice beside him, so I asked loudly, “Jordan, what are you doing?” His voice turned cold as he impatiently replied, “Are you accusing me of cheating? Colhern Didley, you’re always thinking the worst of others because you’re a horrible person!” After he ended the call, I received a text message.[Come to River Avenue, I want to show you something good.] I did not know who sent me the text message; I just rushed over.In the biggest club on River Avenue, I saw Jordan in one of the private rooms. Holly Brown was leaning against him while dressed in an off-shoulder top. She was grinding against Jordan as she raised her hand, which was previously wrapped around him. “Jordan, stop it!” I felt my heart sink and turn cold. I had a good guess on who had sent me

I did not say a single word. I only stared at the wedding gown Holly was wearing. It was a custom-made gown that Jordan had purchased. It was extremely expensive. Jordan had once said that he wanted me to wear a unique piece. He was using my wedding gown as a tool for him to flirt with Holly. The white collar had been stained with lipstick and wine. I let out a deep sigh as I said in a low voice. “Jordan, let’s get a divorce.” Jordan finally could not hold himself back. He carried Holly in his arms as he rushed toward me. “Colhern, who do you think you are to ask for a divorce?“If you give birth to the child, your identity in my family would be solidified. So what if I cheat on you? You’re still gaining something effortlessly.”My sadness overshadowed my anger as tears streamed down my face. Jordan finally softened his tone when he saw my tears. “As long as you don’t interrupt my private life, you’re still my wife. Those women are just playthings to me. They’re the m

Jordan felt something was wrong when he saw the blood trickling down my legs. He asked me anxiously, “Are you alright? Why are you bleeding so much?”My lips were pale. I could not even say a single word because of the pain. “Colhern, are you really suffering from a miscarriage?” Jordan pushed Holly aside and rushed toward me. He looked very concerned. Holly continued being sarcastic. “Jordan, I bet she’s having her period. Do you really think she’s having a miscarriage?” After hearing Holly’s words, Jordan fully believed her. He dropped me onto the floor angrily and kicked my leg.“Do you have to do this to gain my affection from Holly? You’re so shameless. I’m going to be the butt of the joke in my friend group!”Holly leaned her head against Jordan’s shoulder as she stared at him lovingly. “Jordan, don’t be angry at Colhern just because of me. Colhern must have had too much pig feed, that’s why something is wrong with her brain. She’s still pregnant. Why are you k

The private room booking was extended to three days. Jordan tied my hands and legs up. He looked at the blood on the floor in disgust. He said to his friends, “Let’s go! Let’s let Colhern enjoy this private room on her own!” I turned around to look for a surveillance camera. However, I noticed that they had covered the surveillance camera with a cloth. If I could reach the surveillance camera and use my mouth to pull that cloth away, the waiters would be able to save me! I endured the immense pain and waited for everyone to leave. After the last person exited the room, I started wiggling on the floor with much difficulty. With every inch that I moved forward, I felt a horrible pain in my abdomen. If not for my survival instincts, I would have passed out a few hundred times. Sweat drenched my hair, and I finally reached the surveillance camera. I just needed to use my mouth to pull the cloth aside, and I would be saved…“Ha, I knew you were not going to stay put.” The

I held my hands against my abdomen as I lay on the ground weakly. I could only ask the person I wanted to kill for help. “Please get me an ambulance… Our baby has died… I don’t want to die…”Jordan’s eyes immediately turned cold. He whispered, “Oh, is that the case? You’re really plotting all this out. You’re saying such lies just to survive. How is it possible for you to suffer from a miscarriage so easily? Stop being so shameless.” Holly ran over. They never left. They were looking at me from the entrance as I lay on the ground like a sacrificial animal. Holly purposely exclaimed, “Colhern, what’s wrong with you? Why are you bleeding so much?”However, as she was saying that, she unbuttoned Jordan’s shirt as she buried herself in his embrace. Jordan was enjoying her advances. He put his arm around her and stared at me with cold eyes. “You’re really getting more and more shameless. In order to embarrass me, you’re capable of doing such things in public. It’s fine for you t

After we got married, he loved me very much until I got pregnant. I gained a lot of weight, and I had stretch marks all over my abdomen and thighs. I was extremely swollen due to water retention. He started to look at me with gradual disgust. He would stay back at work more frequently. Sometimes, he would not even return for the entire night. Finally, he started to smile in front of me again. “Colhern, I’m not coming back tonight. My best friend is coming back from overseas. A few of the guys are going to pick that friend up and celebrate.” I was very understanding toward the celebration and meeting of an old friend. I did not expect that friend to be a woman who was his first love. That night, he did not even send me a text message. The second night, the third night… He stayed out for the entire month. I finally could not stand it. I questioned him. “Every day, you went out. Were you drinking with your guy friends, or spending alone time with your girl best friend?”

Chapter 7

Jordan did not return for a few days after that. He blocked me over multiple platforms and destroyed all the phone and connectivity tools at home. In the end, he locked me at home alone. The windows were bolted shut, and I could not escape. There was no food in the fridge. Our mansion was located on the outskirts. There were no nearby neighbors, let alone any passers-by. Jordan wanted to kill me. I started trembling from fear, and I was locked up for three days. The fourth day, his relative came to visit and discovered me, who was lying weakly on the floor. Initially, I thought his relatives would scold him, but they said, “It’s normal for a man to have multiple wives and mistresses!”“That’s right! Jordan didn’t do it on purpose. It’s your fault. He only brought back a woman. Why are you so angry?” “Colhern, I’m not scolding you, but you can’t be unreasonable just because you’re pregnant!”“Colhern, don’t be stubborn. We have all been through this. You’re in a better sit

“Were you domestically abused?” the young girl asked me in concern. I smiled at her. “You’ve visited me for the past few days, but I haven’t gotten to know your name.”“Just call me Harper.” Harper’s eyes were kind. They looked like mine before I met Jordan. She asked softly, “Are you planning to take revenge?”She stared at me with a determined gaze. “I have a way.” I smiled bitterly. “The surveillance camera the other day was blocked. If he doesn’t admit to his wrongdoings, I won’t have any evidence.“Even if there was surveillance footage, he only hit me a few times. The reason why I almost died was due to the bleeding from a miscarriage. He’s not liable for that.“As for his affairs… Ha, if he’s not liable for domestic violence, how would he be charged for having an affair?”I laughed in despair. I almost died while being tortured, but Jordan did not even have to pay his price for that. I would even have to endure his attitude if I wanted a divorce. Why would t

Jordan was never in such a lowly position in front of me. He started begging. “As long as you don’t expose these, I will agree to anything!”I yelled hysterically, “But our baby is dead! You killed him! How are you going to amend that?”I tried to calm myself down and stared coldly at the person before me. “When you tried to kill me, you should’ve had such a realization.” Jordan knelt down. “Please don’t expose these! I will no longer treat you like that. I… I will break up with Holly!” I sneered. “You’re a match made in heaven. You have my blessings to be together.”Jordan panicked and kept bowing down to me. His forehead started bleeding from hitting the floor. However, I was unfazed. That little amount of blood was incomparable to the blood I had lost from the miscarriage. He kept begging me like a dog. “As long as you don’t expose these, I will give you everything! I will give you all of my money! I won’t find other women in the future. I only love you! We will
