Semua Bab It Was Never Fair: Bab 1 - Bab 10

I listened to the entire conversation behind the door as tears streamed down my face.Fanny Duncan, my manager, persistently persuaded me over the phone. "If you take leave again at this critical moment, you'll lose your chance of being promoted. Will your family truly collapse without you?"I always thought that was the case, but I finally realized that it was not the case. I was trapped in my own dream for a long time."I'll be back to work tomorrow. Thank you for not giving up on me, Fanny," I replied cautiously.I then kicked the door open and walked in. I stared at my parents despite my reddened eyes.Mother's hands were shaking, trying to close the blue notebook."Celine! W-when did you arrive? I… was just telling your father how sensible you are. You're my dear sweetheart," she said, complimenting me skillfully to portray the fake image of her loving me.I sneered, "Oh, I've been here for a while, early enough to hear you saying you were going to leave with Belle, but I'l

My parents had been planning for me to prepare Belle’s wedding gift.I looked at my mother's text message.[I'm paying special attention to Belle as I've got nothing to worry about when it comes to you. I've loved you since you were little.]Love? The blue notebook crushed my heart as my heart roared with me, 'Recording my expenses to gain back the other daughter's wedding gift is what you call love?'…I smiled and stroked my pet chicken, Chester, when I got home."Chester, you're the one that loves me the most. Grandmother gave you to me, and you love me just like she did."Belle's text messages started flowing in at that moment.[Celine, how can you talk back to Mother and Father? They loved you so much! They bought you branded clothes when you were a child, too. All of our neighbors knew about that.]I called her back immediately, trying my best to suppress my anger as I said, "Don't you know those branded clothes I wore were all your hand-me-downs? Whose child would alwa

Same old story all over again. I was always blamed for being calculative and got compared to Belle. It was as if I was completely wrong to be calculative with her.'Am I not your child too?'I picked up a knife in a daze and dashed toward Mother's house. The moment I opened the door, I saw Father holding a piece of meat, feeding it to Belle, while Mother was wiping her sweat at the side. My ex-boyfriend, Simon Gray, was beside her with a doting look on his face.I stared at the meat in the boiling pot miserably. It seemed I was the only one affected by this."You killed Chester and enjoyed eating the meat?" I wiped my sweat as I waved the knife aimlessly."It's just a chicken, you goon! What's wrong with just pampering your sister a little?" My mother stepped forward and took away my knife, her expression ugly. Frankly, she looked as wicked as when she drugged me that one fateful day.Simon tried to persuade me, too. "That's right, it's just a chicken. How much compensation do y

"What's wrong with her, doctor? Will it delay the bone marrow donation?"It felt like a bullet was shot straight into my heart. I lost hope and felt immensely disappointed. When I woke up next, Mother was standing in front of my bed with red-rimmed eyes. "Why didn't you tell me that you were sick, Celine? I'm your mother."She burst into tears. She was sobbing, and her shoulders were trembling. However, the words she said continued to echo in my mind. 'Will it delay the bone marrow donation?' she had said.I pushed her away helplessly. "Mother, I have cancer, and I won't be able to donate bone marrow. Why don't you get Belle to do it?""No, Belle is pregnant. A pregnant woman cannot donate bone marrow. It'll harm the baby!" she wailed subconsciously. The next second, she came over, held my hand, and bawled, "Celine, I know you are strong. Anyway, you won't die immediately! Can you donate your bone marrow first?"I almost thought I had misheard her words."What did you say? You

Belle, on the other hand, was enjoying her happy life. That completely rebutted what Belle claimed on the live broadcast, that I was vicious and my mother favored me over her. Sarah even released a surveillance video of Belle eating the pet chicken, as well as the story of using a disgusting man to plot against me.My misfortune was visible to everyone.I then posted, [What I hate most is that blue notebook for expenses… but I never thought I didn't even deserve to have that. It never even existed. That notebook was only for making up false expenses, to prepare for Belle's wedding.]The reaction on social media overturned; everyone condemned them both instead.[Goodness, the one that benefited claimed to be the one not being favored. That explains why I felt things were off.][Yeah, I've always felt that the mother seemed to only love Belle, but I didn't expect it to be true.][It's disgusting!]Belle and Mother were taken away during their live broadcast. With handcuffs at ha
