Love. Betrayal. Death

Chapter 1Raya's POV "How'd you think that bitch would feel if she found out about us?" I slowed my steps at the sound of the voice from a distance."How else do you think? She's going to be shattered, and she's going to wail her eyes out," another replied, and I stilled. The familiarity of the voices made my heart thump harder.No. It can’t be. I told myself, my feet glued to the floor. The ache in my chest began as a faint throb, intensifying with every passing second.I dragged my feet closer to the bedroom, each step heavier than the last. My hand trembled as I held it out gingerly to the doorknob. A cold sweat formed at the base of my neck, and my breath hitched as dread coiled in my stomach.I felt my breath seize at the sight before me. My best friend Kelly and my boyfriend, Mark—of four years—were on our bed, naked. My knees threatened to give way. Our bed. The one where we shared dreams of the future, late-night whispers, and promises that now felt like lies. My nails dug in

Saved by a lovely devil

Chapter 2Raya's POV "Hey—hey, open your eyes and look at me," a distant frantic voice pierced through the haze in my mind."Mr. Marcello, you've to let her go, she's dead, the car's windshield is drenched with her blood, and there's no way she's going to survive a fall from that height," another voice said again, shaky but resolute.I could feel a pair of hands gripping my body tightly."No! Her breathing is tense, and I can feel her pulse, I'm taking her to the hospital," The voice said again, running towards the blaring sound of an emergency car."Mr Marcello," another voice called, tearing a venomous hiss from his lips."She's fuckin alive, do what I say or I bury you alongside her," He threatened. The sounds of hurried footsteps, the wails of sirens, and the jarring cold of the night pressed harshly against my skin, a stark contrast to the warmth of the hands holding my bloodied body."Stay alive for me baby, you cannot leave me now, not now when I found you," the voice said ag

Alive

Chapter 3Raya's POV Beep.. beep...beep My eyes fluttered open and the first thing I felt was the cold. My lungs burned as I tried to take a breath. Water invaded my throat, sharp and painful. Submerged under a large amount of water, I was sinking. No matter how hard I tried to fight, the water kept pulling me under, dragging me deeper into its dark abyss. My heart raced, and panic seized me as I gasped for air, but there was nothing, only the pressure of the water that trashed my body violently, pushing against my chest, dragging my body."Raya, take my hand!" A voice rang in the distance, and I turned, trying to find the source, but the water blurred my sight as I tried desperately to see in front of me despite the burning sensation in my eyes."I'm here Raya, take my hands, I'm here," The voice yelled again, and I finally caught sight of him I kicked toward him, desperate to reach out, to grab his hand, but the water surged between us, shoving me back."Here Raya," the voice ca

Marriage. Revenge

Chapter 4 Raya's POVHe walked out of the door, and I turned around to stare at the hospital room and intricate designs of the room while trying to make sense of this stranger's words. My eyes barely caught the reflection of myself in the mirror when the door was softly pushed open followed by a doctor and several nurses in pale blue scrubs."Mrs Marcello," the doctor called, smiling softly at me."Y— you, I think you're mistaken, my name is Raya," I corrected, bowing slightly out of habit, lowering my head to apologize when I felt a sharp fiery stab shoot through my spine with my every breath. I winced as my fingers curled tightly around the bedsheet until I could feel my knuckles turn white."Mrs Marcello," The doctor called, running closer to me. I blinked my eyes rapidly, with cold sweat coating my forehead, as I tried desperately to hold back the burning tears in my eyes."It's fine Mrs Marcello, it's the effect of the accident, your spine was broken and you had a lot of injurie

Catching a liar

Chapter 5Marcello's pov "Mr Marcello," the lawyer called as I stepped outside of the hospital room."I need the signed papers," He said and I stared down at the marriage certificate clenched tightly in my hands."What do you need it for?" I asked gruffly. The lawyer adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat. "I need to file it with the court to ensure its legal recognition. The sooner we finalize everything, the better."I tightened my grip on the paper, my jaw clenching. "Are you having second thoughts, Mr. Marcello?" the lawyer asked, his voice neutral but observant.I exhaled sharply, my gaze drifting toward the hospital room door. Inside, she was still unconscious, unaware of the choices being made around her.Second thoughts? No. Regrets? Never I just need to make sure whoever put her in that state pays for it.I finally met the lawyer’s gaze. "Give me a moment.""I need you to make sure that every single thing about it is carefully documented, every single place. Put the pr

Disposal

Chapter 6Marcello's pov "Shall we begin then?" I asked, holding my hands out to take a knife."Just kill me, because I'm not going to say anything to you," he said, struggling to be freed."Death is too easy for you Diego, I've a better thing to do to make you talk," A thin smirk formed on my face as I toyed with the knife in my hands, shifting closer to me."First question, why have you been lying to me?" I asked, but he only stared, his mouth particularly shut.I grazed the tip of the knife along his cheek, not deep enough to draw blood, but enough to make him flinch. Diego clenched his jaw, refusing to give me the satisfaction of a reaction."You've been feeding me lies for months," I continued, my voice eerily calm. "And I don’t take kindly to betrayal."Still, he said nothing.I let out a low chuckle. "You're stubborn, I'll give you that." Then, without warning, I pressed the knife against his arm, dragging the blade just enough to break the skin. A thin line of crimson followe

What they deserve

Chapter 7Marcello's pov I arched a brow. "Then make me understand."His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. "If I talk, I'm dead either way."I leaned in, my voice a low, menacing whisper. "You were dead the moment you crossed me. The only difference is how much you suffer before it happens."His jaw clenched, his entire body taut with tension. But the fear in his eyes had taken over now."They’re bigger than you think," he muttered, his voice barely audible. "You're not the only predator in this game, Marcello."I smirked. "Oh, I never assumed I was. But I am the only one standing in front of you right now."A broken, bitter chuckle escaped his lips. "You're in deeper than you know."I grabbed his face roughly, forcing him to look at me. "Who. Are. They?"He hesitated, and I pulled back, pressing the barrel of the gun against his temple. "Names, Diego. Or I'll personally see to it that your daughter ends up the way Raya did,"His breath hitched. "The Vasquez cartel," he choked out.

Burnt

Marcello's pov Chapter 8I crouched in front of him, gripping his jaw tightly, forcing him to meet my gaze. "You thought you could use my resources to destroy innocent lives?" I murmured, my voice dangerously calm. "Now, let's see how you like being on the receiving end."I pressed the blunt, rusted knife against his trembling flesh, dragging it slowly, deliberately, letting him feel every jagged edge as it tore through his skin. His screams turned to ragged gasps, his body twitching violently against the restraints.Aaron stood beside me, silent but watchful. He knew better than to interrupt. The other men, the thieves and traitors, watched in paralyzed terror as I carved retribution into the rapist’s flesh. By the time I was done, he was a whimpering, blood-soaked mess."And here's the murderer right?" I asked and walked away from the rapist to the man who caused his wife to lose her pregnancy."No—no, no," He trashed violently against the chair."How much were the drugs found in h

Hollow home

Raya's pov "Mrs Marcello," The doctor called subtly as he stepped into the room.My spine stiffened at the name, I couldn't bring myself to get used to that name no matter how many times it was used."Can I be discharged already?" I asked, my body itching to be freed from this hospital."Yes, the chauffeur is already waiting outside to drive you home," He explained, accompanied by a knock on the door. Two men walked in, one dressed in uniform and the other dressed in an all-black suit."They're your chauffeur and your bodyguard," "I don't need a bodyguard, maybe a driver once in a while but a bodyguard no," I refused but the all-black man only stood still as though he was deaf to every single word I was saying."I'm sorry Mrs. Marcello, but I was sent to be your bodyguard by your husband, and under no condition must I leave your side," he finished, his voice deep and unwavering.I let out an exasperated sigh, my fingers curling into the hospital blanket. "Of course he did," I mutter
