Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Alphas Prize Blood Mate: Kabanata 131 - Kabanata 140

Wesly I get to my office before Jake and settle behind my desk. I will call Danny, but there is a bigger fish I have been trying to fry first. I had Darrell make an offer to Alpha George before we left New Moon. I had told Darrell not to call me with his response. I would call him when we got home. It was a good one, I thought. I would give him another million dollars, and my word, that I wouldn't destroy his pack in exchange for Bella's father. The alternative wasn't going to be pleasant for either of us. I was trying to avoid it. I kinda like living in peace, and I couldn't leave my pack in the middle of a war. Neither could I dismiss the chance to right another wrong for my mate. I will do no less to save Author than I would if it were my father at the mercy of the devil. In my opinion, blowing apart his pack, should it become necessary, would be worth it. It would also help Maggie adjust to her new life if their father were here. Therefore, it would give Bella peace of min

Maggie "What do you mean by telling Wesly not to go through with the deal?" I fired at my sister. She laughed softly. "That's not what I was referring to. With the mate and Trentity bonds, Wesly and I can communicate without speaking. You will soon find out." She tells me with a wink. "Why do I always feel like I am playing catch-up?" Cindy huffed, settling down at the table with Jordan. Jessica brought in our breakfast, and Anna and I joined Cindy. "Thank you, Jessica," Anna said before she left. "My, incredibly loving, generous, hard-headed, and stubborn mate has offered to purchase our father from Alpha George. Only he plans to do so in George's pack. You know what happened the last time he went after an Alpha alone." "She may, but I don't," I reminded her. "Short version," Anna said to me with a sigh. "Wesly is a warlock, Luna Hope is a witch. Alpha Brett attacked us and had me kidnapped. I was his last supper." She tells me, holding up her arms covered in scars. I was

Maggie Wesly clears his throat and breaks the spell. We both focus on him. "I suppose it could work," He says with a knowing grin, looking between us. "If he agrees to work with us, you girls should inform the good doctor that the wolf that will be 'attacking' him is Jake." Jake sat up in his chair, his thigh brushes against mine, and it feels like he just stuck a sparkler to my skin. I need to get away from him before I make a fool of myself, and the doctor isn't the only one who gets attacked. I don't know what has come over me, but it's nearly as intense as the heat. "I am going to my room for a bit, I need to lie down," I tell them. "Are you ok?" Jake asked me, pushing up from his chair. "I am fine," I tell him, standing quickly without meeting his eyes. "What time should I be ready?" I asked Wesly. "By five, we have dinner reservations at six." He says. "I can call for Doctor Stephens if you need him." "That won't be necessary." Without another word, I bolt from the o

Jake I take a deep breath as I watch Maggie's retreating form disappear into the house. I can hardly believe she spent as much time with me as she did. Nor had I yet grasped the idea of just having found my mate. I knew Rafe had been acting weird since Maggie's arrival, and I haven't thought of much else besides her intriguing lavender and citrus scent. The attraction has been there from day one on our part, but Maggie is a different story. She is fighting what I saw in her eyes and what I know she felt between us in the office. I suppose she has good reason. If I had walked a mile in her shoes, I'd be apprehensive too. I hope now that her wolf is back, she will start to feel more at ease around me. I am a patient man. I can wait. I knew the Goddess had brought us together for a reason. I am reasonably sure it is the plan for me to help my mate heal. I could do that if she would let me in. 'It is her human side that bears the damage.' Rafe tells me. 'Her wolf is already team Ra

Jake I was trying hard to remember that Maggie and I were not where I was acting like we were. I thought I had gone too far by taking her hand, but she had accepted it and held on tight. The fact that she was allowing me to stand behind her, touching her neck, was blowing my mind and senses. 'It's a good thing.' Rafe tells me. 'She needs to learn to trust you.' I wasn't sure what to think when she asked to speak to me privately. We exited the building and sat on a bench in front. I can tell Maggie is nervous. "You can talk to me, Maggie," I tell her. "No judgments here." She took a deep breath. "Roxy wants me to ask if Rafe would agree to them marking each other. I understand if the answer is no, but I promised her I would ask." "Is that what you want, Maggie?" I asked, resting my arm across the back of the bench. "We have no problem with the marking, but if Rafe marks Roxy, it will be till death he will not let her go, and you will be stuck with me." "I don't want to be stu
