Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Mafia's Enemy: Owning the Doctor: Kabanata 171 - Kabanata 180

Matthew’s brows sank, not because he did not recognize the name. He did recognize the company. Freegal was not news to him. He especially heard it from his father, but he did not take part in any transaction with them nor did he have knowledge about them. His face expressed familiarity and confusion. Why did this man invite him to such a luxurious restaurant? What could this old man try to pull off? Matthew couldn’t guess anything. His face then flattened and said.“I wonder the reason for a reputable man like you to meet me, or should I say, the black army.” He muttered with great emphasis in the last few words. He looked collected and composed as he looked deeply into the old man’s eyes. That was the one million dollar question right now. Needless to say, this was unprecedented. Granger let out a soft chuckle first before making his response.“Why don’t we dig in first?” Granger spoke as he motioned his hand on the tasty food in front of them. Though Granger already ate with the boa

Finally, the day filled with hopes came. The organs needed for transplant had been distributed for each operation room. Georgia was one of the doctors who performed the operation. Alongside her was Lily and other three nurses and anesthesiologist. Everyone was prepared for this day–the entire hospital, to be exact. Georgia was found doing preparations as from cleaning down to wearing the protective suit done by Lily. Georgia looked at Lily first. They looked into each other’s eyes as if they were telepathically communicating whether one was ready or not. A few seconds later, the two nodded at the same as they headed inside the operation room where a patient who needed a heart transplant was at.Considering the numbers of operations today, each surgeon was designated to perform an operation at least three times in three patients. They didn’t wait for a long time and started the operation in an instant. Georgia cast a glance at the clock upper wall and said,“Let’s finish in less than

Everyone agreed to hold the celebration at the beer house a few kilometers away from the hospital. It was suggested by Lily. Primo was a little reluctant at first since this would involve alcohol and somehow in the back of his mind, he didn’t want to intoxicate Georgia. But the latter agreed with Lily in an instant, Primo had no choice but to follow. After all, it was theirs to celebrate. The moment they entered the establishment, one thing that got Primo’s attention was the smoke lingering and a griller in each table. The sight was not to his taste, causing a furrow in his brows. The ground floor was all vacant, so they had no choice but to settle on the second floor. “This place doesn’t have enough ventilation for such a smokey business.” Primo commented in the same face as he took his seat. Lily let out a chuckle upon hearing him, and replied.“It’s because this is a grilling house, sir. You see everyone, right? They grill on their own.” She said as she pointed to everyone. Lily w

No matter how many times Lily attempted to call her uncle, the result was still the same–the phone was still ringing and no one was picking up. She heaved a sigh in submission. Though bothered, she chose to go back inside. She was about to pull the glass door open when she suddenly felt her phone vibrating in the pocket. Quickly, she picked it up and halted from walking. Finally! Her uncle responded to her message–but it was not what she expected to be. Instead of receiving a text where her uncle was on his way, she received a disappointing reply instead. “‘Sorry. Can’t make it tonight.’ Huh?! Tsk!” Lily didn’t reply and just put her phone back in her pocket as she walked with heavy steps, until she reached the table. Everyone was already enjoying themselves with the beers and the meat that Georgia was grilling who had Jennifer’s assistance now. “How is it? Is Herald coming?” Georgia asked with a hopeful smile on her face by the moment she noticed Lily’s presence. Lily pouted and s

The next morning was filled with unusual quietness. Perhaps it was because of losing someone unexpectedly–as if the world was mourning for his death. It wasn’t the bright sun that canopied the city, but the emerging dark clouds as though a storm was about to hit. Primo had to admit, he didn’t feel the same way when his father died. The death of his father was just like, if it were in a classroom, a student was dropping out like a natural occurrence. This one was different–it was inexplicable for an unexpected person’s death. One thing he was sure of was, he felt the need to uncover the truth behind Herald’s death. His death, that, for some reason, had connections to him.Primo finished his cup of coffee and then grabbed his coat as he took his leave. While Georgia remained by Lily’s side who was processing the wake of her uncle, Primo on the other hand, still had to finish his business involving one of his folks. Primo couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Georgia without any security,
