With the unfortunate event that led Georgia Musni to meet the mafia underboss Primo Bonsignore, a heart-shattering truth surfaced as a result. The ideal and perfect man that Georgia painted her fiance in her mind was tainted black when Primo proved him to be the man that Georgia didn’t think that he is. “You bastard why… did you throw the ring?” voice shaking, Georgia asked as the ball of knuckles in her hands formed. “Because I know very well that you will do the same thing soon.” Grinning ear-to-ear, Primo answered as if he didn’t steal the most valuable thing to her. Primo in fact didn’t lie. Knowing the truth through him changed her judgment of her fiance. Soon enough, they ended up sharing the same goal where they had to look back on the life that they had lived, while subsiding the fact that Primo is a mafia. Taking that into consideration, how would the truth about their lives–especially Georgia’s play in their relationship? Will it make their ties stronger? Or be the reason for them to cut ties?
View MoreThe sky was blue when a woman on her lab coat exited from the hospital building. As she returned with a cup of iced coffee, the bright sun was restrained to shine with the dark clouds emerging–as if it foreshadows the following events that will happen.
“That’s weird…” Doctor Georgia whispered and stopped as she stared at the darkening clouds through the glass. Bad premonition started to build up. She didn't know exactly where that feeling came from–it just emerged along with the dark clouds as if a warning sign.
Before she could dig into that feeling, a generated voice from the large screen distracted her.
“We have a new face in the top five public figures with the highest gross income!” It was an advertisement. Intrigued, Georgia squinted her eyes waiting to see this new face. In fact, this is news. For three consecutive years, five names were always found in the top five.
So, who could this new face be that chose to break the list?
“Let’s welcome, Primo Bonsignore, a businessman–the president of Prime Innova Corporation, a Global Recognition Award nominee–” before the generated voice could make endless list of this new man's achievements, a female nurse–that emerged out of nowhere–cut the doctor’s attention.
“Doc, we need you at the operating room–as soon as possible!” the nurse with a name on her tag, Lily, panicked as she called her. Georgia rushed toward her in a second, agitated by the sudden call.
“What happened?” worry etched on the face of the doctor. Consequently, the nurse answered and didn't leave any details behind. To put her words into short, the old man, who was just mended from cardiac arrest, was rushed to the operating room right after his doctor located a rupture in his heart when he collapsed. Considering the seriousness in his condition, the patient needs an immediate operation…
Whose job will be now onto Georgia, a surgeon. Run and run, they didn't waste a second, as a person's time gets closer to death. The iced coffee she bought ended up wasted, just not this life on the line.
“Scalpel.” Covered by medical uniform, Georgia raised her left hand.
Heart rupture. Georgia had encountered a lot of patients with the same condition that she operated already. But with time is of the essence, no matter how Georgia is good–or even an expert of it, every second is a critical time.
But then, thanks to the gift of the heaven, the operation ended smoothly. That was five hours and thirty-three minutes.
“You never fail to amaze me, Doc!” praise from the same nurse who called her earlier, ensued as they exited from the operating room disinfected and cleaned.
“I've been receiving the same praise since you started here last week, Nurse Lily.” Georgia chuckled. “You’ll get used to it soon.” Georgia casted a glance to her direction and saw her smiling timidly–which eventually turned into a look of tease when Lily’s eyes caught a man’s presence by the corner.
“Oops, I'm good to go from here! It’s your lovey-dovey time, Doc, I guess.” Giggling, Nurse Lily left, only then for her to notice the person that pressed the demeanor of the nurse.
“Sweetie…” The man called softly as he stretched his arms wide open. Like her, he's also on a lab coat, standing tall by the corner. Hearing that voice that Georgia fell in love with, the energy left in her body gradually diminished. With her face etched with a smile, Georgia ran toward his direction for an embrace, feeling the comfort and calmness from the touch.
“Ah, finally…rest.” Georgia rested on his fiancé's chest named, Lawrence Jordan, who’s also a surgeon like her. But then, Georgia quickly withdrew her head to look up to him when she was reminded by something.
“Didn't you also have operation today?” she asked, emerging the sweetness in her voice that wasn't revealed when she talked to the nurse. Georgia stared at his brown eyes with her hands still wrapped around his body.
“Just finished. I think we went in the separate operating room at the same time–I saw you rushing earlier.” Lawrence replied and smiled.
“You did?” surprised, the woman asked to which he nodded slowly.
“I even saw how the coffee was quickly discarded.” Lawrence teased and laughed, while Georgia just had the moment of realization about that coffee.
“Right, my coffee!” she exclaimed with her siren eyes circling, unwrapping her hands around him.
“It was all ice when I found it, Sweetie. Let's buy another one instead.” Lawrence initiated as he gently picked her thin fingers, plastering a wide smile on the face of his fiancee. With that, they have quickly decided to go to the nearby cafe that Georgia went to earlier, with her arm wrapped around his.
They were striding their way through the revolving glass, when Lawrence suddenly took a halt that cease Georgia from walking. A moment of realization hit the man as his hand cupped the pockets on his coat.
“I forgot my wallet…” Lawrence brushed his fingers through his hair at the thought. “I left it on my office…” While Lawrence felt agitated, Georgia just smiled at him and said,
“Don't worry, I have my wallet with me.” She assured him, but the man just shook his head in protest.
“No. I invited you, so it should be on me. You can wait for me, right?” Lawrence insisted, which Georgia found non-negotiable. With the same smile, she ended up nodding at him. “Alright. Just order the foods upon waiting, while I go back to my office. I’m gonna be quick.” Lawrence stated and winked at her before turning his back to sprint back to the building.
It was really just fine for her to take the bills–she got no issues with it, since she’s always ready to spend money for her man. On the other side, Georgia have known his fiance for three years already. And that was one of the things that she couldn't do anything with. If Lawrence initiates, he wouldn't let Georgia spend anything for him.
She understands that trait of him deeply. So now, she’s on her way to the cafe, although she had to take a stop on the pedestrian lane to avoid jaywalking. While waiting for the lights to turn red, Georgia enjoyed the time by humming. It was seconds left for her turn to walk through.
The sky was still a little dark. And the time on the traffic lights is getting exhausted to zero. Finally, it’s the turn for her two minutes. She started to walk through the white lines as her eyes fixated on the cafe at the opposite side. All of a sudden, her phone rang, halting her in the middle of the road in a second.
“Hmm?” she answered the call from Lawrence, and walked again.
“I’ve heard about the new coffee on their menu, Sweetie. I would love to try it instead of my usual order!” Lawrence’ voice was vivid with excitement, curving her lips.
“Got it!” excited, Georgia ran the remaining distance from the lane, until something beyond the realm of her imaginations happened.
A black driving van from the right side appeared out of nowhere. The two minutes wasn’t yet done, but the black van was bold enough to pass through the pedestrian lane. As she turned her head to that direction, she saw the opened door in a split of a second, only to realize later what was about to happen.
Everything happened so quickly that she got no chance to think of ways to surviving–but to end up getting grabbed by the person inside the van, defenseless and clueless.
The next thing she knew that happened was her consciousness weakening. Perhaps, it was the dark clouds and her bad premonition were all about.
It is something that Georgia has to do, even if it causes her pain in her heart. But it will soon heal, right? That’s what keeps Georgia going–the thought that the pain will heal on its own. This will pass. It’s just a temporary pain. This won’t last. It won’t sting if she put her mind away from it. “Heinrich…” Georgia called as she was about to get into the car that they had provided for her. The sun was about to sink in the horizon, wrapping up the day. She didn’t know where she was. This place didn’t look like the CBF headquarters, either. Well, it would be risky for Heinrich there. Unlike the CBF that resided in a remote area, this place is right in the city–itt would be right to say on the border of the city. The building they brought her isn’t as enormous as CBF, neither as luxurious, too. In fact, this building almost looked like an abandoned establishment. Georgia turned around and looked at Heinrich, who was waiting for something she has to say. “Can you… at least tell me
The moment Georgia crossed paths with Primo, she knew that she was going to hate him for life. That ill event that brought her to Primo’s grasp… she despised it. She hated him. She despised him for getting in-between her relationship with Lawrence. She hated his guts. She hated everything about him. To save her life out of fear for Primo, she was left with no choice but to do what he wanted. But… how could she completely hate him when she later on learned that he saved her from a monster? How could she hate him when he stopped the greater pain from coming to her? How could she hate him when he did her a favor? Indeed, she did hate him, but it eventually came to a halt out of these realizations. To be frank, she didn’t even know when exactly did her hatred towards him stop. She didn’t know–she couldn’t recall anything. But one thing was for sure, that hatred died. Georgia knew because the longer she was with Primo, the safer she felt–contrary to the fear she felt at first. And now… re
Georgia’s brows were drawn in one line after hearing such a vague response from him. With her eyes squinted into slits, she looked at Heinrich whose face finally emitted seriousness as how serious the situation was.Why would she be the reason for their family’s fall? What the hell did she do without her knowledge again? Why is this man accusing her for something that didn’t even happen? Georgia was confused. To be frank, it was the other way around. Georgia’s face begged for elaboration of his vague remark. Noticing that, Heinrich started walking once again.“Should we trail down from the beginning, then?” Heinrich asked as he expanded the path he was making on his walk. Georgia was following her eyes on him with the same expression written in her face. “To be honest, you should have been long dead already.” He said. Despite another vagueness from his words, Georgia just waited patiently and just listened to what he was saying.“The moment you stepped foot in our territory–you alread
All of a sudden, Georgia found her consciousness. It felt like she was in an uncomfortable position. Eyes closed, her brows sank. Slowly, she opened her eyes and found her head hanging over her shoulder while she was sitting on a wooden chair with her arms tied around it. Then, she lifted her head a second later. But the blinding light met her gazes, closing her eyes in an instant as she snapped her head to the right side.Gradually, she returned her gazes in front of her, when she noticed a figure with the blinding lights behind him. As she finally adjusted her sight with the light, then her eyes were greeted by Heinrich’s grinning face who was looking at her. Georgia’s forehead wrinkled at his presence. What the hell just happened? She was in an empty room with her chair alone was the only stuff this place contained–as if this place was just used for this purpose. She was at the center of this empty room, sitting on the only chair with Heinrich around. As she tried to recall the eve
Led by Primo, they rushed toward the direction of the two men who were in the same uniform as Lawrence’ men. They looked just like they woke up from a slump. The covers on their faces were removed. Their eyes were half-opened, seemingly struggling to see, while their hands were massaging their napes. The moment their eyes met Primo, who suddenly came out of the woods, the eyes of the two immediately flashed widely. They were about to grab the gun in their possession, but their guns were no longer there. Phil and Carlo looked at each other with trouble in their eyes as their bodies stiffed in agitation. Slowly, their feet walked backwards as their arms touched each other. They could hear their heart beating so loud as if the organ wanted to burst out of their chest. “I just need to ask you one thing,” Primo said, halting the two from walking backwards as they looked into each other’s eyes for a second. “Where did you bring the woman?” Primo’s voice ensued, giving shivers and goosebump
Primo already had a scratch in his arm. He got it while he was trying to get away from Lawrence and his men. But it didn’t become a hindrance to shoot Lawrence. As both bullets shot out of their guns directed to each other’s spot, Primo quickly hid behind the tree. Meanwhile, Lawrence who was in an open field caught his bullet by his left shoulder. All of a sudden, they heard a continuous shower of bullets that appeared out of nowhere. The next thing they heard was a car rushing toward Lawrence direction. Primo peeked over the side of the trunk. Lawrence’ men were now unconsciously lying on the ground bathing with their own blood. As his eyes averted to the car, Primo sighed in relief upon realizing that it was his.Now that they have arrived and Lawrence was cornered, Primo got out from hiding, as well as Jennifer and Manuel who got out of the car. Slowly, Primo walked toward Lawrence’ direction with his rifle still pointing at him. Lawrence was still standing, but his gun wasn’t po
