When the flames speak.

Raven’s POVThe fire burned low in front of me, the flames licking the wood gently. My knees were pulled to my chest, my arms wrapped tight around them. Different questions that don't seem to have an answer clouded my mind. I inhaled, breaking another branch and threw it into the fire. The fire seemed to be the only thing keeping me from losing it, so I was bent on keeping alive. “You’re still thinking about him,” Leslie whispered with a sigh. “I’m trying not to.”“What exactly are you thinking about?” “You live in my head,” I replied coldly, using a branch to rearrange the burning woods. “You should know what exactly is on my mind.”“Well, it's impossible to do that because in this messed up place you call a head,” she retorted. I rolled my eyes letting out a faint groan. I definitely wasn't in the mood to welcome Leslie's annoying attitude. “What are you going to do now?” She asked. “His coming was expected but it came soon… he killed your people.”Thanks for the info. Brother's fight.

Author’s POVThe Lycan Palace was a big and quiet place in the heart of the Lycans land. It was a monstrous silhouette etched against the ashen sky. A throne room made of black stone and blood-colored banners cast long shadows across the floor. The Lycan Lord sat upon his jagged throne — his silver beard made him look like a god, his piercing eyes dimmed with disappointment. His younger son, Allen. Kai's brother knelt before him, with one knee to the floor, his head bowed. His fists clenched besides him. The Lycan Lord stared at him for a long time without a word. His silence was enough to show his level of disappointment. But Allen wasn't moved. He plays this game more often than anyone. "You failed," the Lycan Lord finally said, voice deep and full of gravel. "You failed to bring your brother home."Allen’s jaw tensed. He raised his head slightly, eyes burning. “I followed his tracks and found him, just like I promised but it seems that the story is true, Kai just wouldn't come

First phase.

Raven’s POVA war broke out sooner than we expected, we were able to stop the Lycans from coming in but it only took two days for them to attack again but this time I was more than prepared. I stood on top of the wall, staring into the distance. The Lycans were charging towards the city gate. I turned to the sentinels besides me and gave him a nod. He nodded back and shouted down the wall. “Nightshade,” he shouted. The place erupted in shouts as our people appeared from nowhere catching the Lycans off guard but they didn't back down. Foolish Lycans. They were about to meet their end and they knew it but they wouldn't just admit it. The attack was brutal, but we had the upper hand. Lycans were falling, we were winning. I stood at the wall, giving orders to the sentinels who stayed by the gate to finish any Lycan that escaped the wrath of the first batch. The Lycans refused to retreat, they kept coming. My people retreated, allowing fresh batch to continue the fight. And we won th

Just a rest.

Raven's pov. It has been weeks now and the war was still on. The Lycans were tougher than what we had expected but thanks to Kai, things were easier for us and we were finally getting closer to the Lycan Lord. We have conquered the surrounding packs and villages close to the bloodfang pack—- the Lycan Lord pack. I can't wait to meet him. I can't wait to give him the taste of his own medicine, I can't wait to burn down his palace. We returned back to our camp, after defeating another Lycan trope. My people were exhausted and so was I. We have been fighting for hours, no quick break. The closer we got to the Lycan Lord, the harder the war. And it was exhausting. I needed rest and some good wine. I fell on the bed, peeling my clothes off. Damien walked in, scaring the hell out of me. “Fuck,” I screamed, dragging a cloth abs pulled it over my chest. “What the hell man?” He chuckled, placing his lamp on the table. “I didn't mean to scare you,” he defended. “You know I'm the only o

We are still mates.

RAVEN'S POV. “What the hell, Kai?” I shouted, almost falling off my feet. I knew someone was following me but I didn't pick up a scent—- it's almost like Kai doesn't have a scent. “I wasn't even trying to scare you,” he smirked, taking a step closer. “You should have known my scent.”“Says the man without a scent,” I scoffed, rolling my eyes in disbelief. “Only those who are sensitive enough can pick my scent,” he explained, his voice laced with pride. “I didn't come here to argue with you,” I said, my lips pressing into a thin line. “We have broken the bond, but I still feel you, why?”That made him laugh. My brows furrowed seeing his reaction. It wasn't funny. It was a question that needed to be answered before I lost it. The bond was supposed to be broken but I could still Kai, I could still feel the connection. At first I thought it was because I was overreacting but after a while I figured that the connection was still there. “I should be asking you that,” he paused, letting

An angry Beta.

AUTHOR’S POVThe forest was quiet— too quiet that even the breeze was still. Damien crouched behind a thick patch of ferns, hidden in the shadow of an ancient pine tree. His golden eyes flickered with anger, his fists clenched tightly in rage, teeth clenched so hard that blood filled his mouth as he watched the woman he was supposed to marry grind her hips against the man who had betrayed her more times than he could count.Raven’s moans echoed in the air like a dagger, each one slicing into Damien’s heart. He stayed still watching how Kai fucked Raven like she was a whore. His loud moans as he filled her up with his seed filled her womb broke him completely. She wasn’t supposed to be with him. He didn't even have the right to touch her, if anyone should be touching her it should be him. He was the one fought for her, stood by her side when no one else dared and even after everything she chose Kai. Damien turned away, swallowing the scream building in his throat. He couldn’t bear

Fight for you.

KAI'S POV. The wind scraped across the rocky ridge, carrying whispers from the valley below. I stood at the edge of the cliff, my eyes fixed on the Lycan camp miles away. “They’re up to something,” I said. “I can't see the person that came in last night.”Zeke, my second and the only one stupid enough to follow me out here, raised his brow. “They are like a million Lycans down there. How can you find one from this spot?”“That's why I'm the Lycan Lord's son,” I said with a cocky smile. He shook his head in disbelief, his face filled with disgust. “Just because you have a god's blood flowing through your veins doesn't make you a god.”I chuckled, biting my lower lips. He reminds me of Theo. I wonder how he's holding up after our last conversation? And how the hell did someone as fragile as Theo end up to be Draven's son. I know my secret was a big deal but he's — that's another level. And who the hell is his brother? Everyone has a secret. Theo was just unexpected. He also came to

A war not won.

RAVEN'S POVThe air split with a sound like the sky had cracked in half. It was a loud, sharp, and terrifying bang. Kai and I froze mid-step, both of us turning at once toward the sound. It wasn’t thunder. It was an explosion and it looked close. My heart slammed in my chest as I grabbed Kai’s arm. “That came from the east.”His eyes widened. “The camp.”Without thinking, I ran towards the direction, my heart pounding loudly in my chest. Every step made the smell of smoke stronger, the sky grew darker, and the heat more unbearable. Screams began to break through the woods.By the time we reached the edge of our secret base, the trees opened to chaos.Flames danced over the rooftops of the smaller barracks. Smoke curled up into the evening sky like black ropes twisting toward the gods. The crackling of fire drowned every other sound until a howl tore through it—one of our own.My jaw dropped open. It was like my soul left me for some seconds but was too scared of the scene so it ret

A talk on failure.

RAVEN’S POVThe moment we stepped back into the pack, I already knew what was waiting for me.The heavy silence. The cold stares. They were all enough to tell me that the council was really disappointed in me. Well, I didn't care, I had more things to worry about. I walked slowly to the council hall. There was no need to rush, at least not when I know the council were patiently waiting to chop my head off. I finally got to the meeting hall. The guards pushed the doors widely, letting get a view of their angry stare before walking in. “Well,” I breathe, placing my hands on my waist. My eyes swept through the crowd with a casual look. A mixture of disdain and anger etched on their faces. They didn't even bother to acknowledge their Alpha. Rude. “You are all looking at me like I had personally invited the Lycans into our territory,” I scoffed making my way to my seat. “I know I messed up badly but I'm still your Alpha.”Elder Thorne didn’t waste time. “Rowan… you were supposed to p

Back as Gamma.

RAVEN’S POVI stood outside Damien’s door, fingers clenched, stomach tight. After everything, coming here still felt strange… but also necessary.I knocked once. Loud enough so he’d know it was me.A second later, the door opened and there he was — Damien. Hair messy like he hadn’t slept properly, eyes tired, but soft the moment they landed on me.“Raven,” he breathed, like he’d been holding that in for days. “Thank the gods… you’re back.”“Yeah,” I nodded, stepping inside. “Things have been rough after the attack. The elders even tried to chop off my head,” I joked. “Well, I'm glad you are back,” he said with a smile. We went silent for a while. Stealing glances at each other everytime we thought the other wasn't looking. My cheeks on fire from the forced smile.“So how are you doing?” I asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence. “Being hell, but I'm pulling through.”“I heard you’re still doing your Beta duties even after I laid you off. That’s real dedication.”He closed the doo
