Semua Bab Side Chick Era… Over: Bab 2491 - Bab 2500

In truth, Julliard hadn't wanted to save Thomas at all. He'd even considered letting the man die in the explosion. If it hadn't been for that stranger showing up out of nowhere and ruining his plan, his little hero act would have gone off perfectly today. He'd arranged to have Sharon kidnapped, only so he could swoop in at the last possible moment and save her.But he'd decided that a simple rescue wouldn't be enough to raise his standing in her heart by much. It needed to be a real brush with death, something dramatic. And she'd need to genuinely live through that terror herself for it to leave a lasting mark.So he'd had her brakes tampered with. His plan was to drive her to the hospital himself, tell her the brakes had failed partway there, and then get himself hurt "protecting" her as he crashed the car to a stop. He'd even scouted the exact location for the crash in advance, to make sure nothing could go wrong.Worried that Sharon might notice something suspicious afterward, J

"A year or two?" Wendy's eyes went wide, her expression full of disbelief. "No way. To know Sharon's exact movements that precisely, you'd have to be watching her around the clock, twenty-four hours a day. Even hiring a private investigator to photograph and film her every day would take forever. "Doesn't this guy have anything else going on in his life? Watching her all day, every day... that's just creepy!"Impossible?Julliard lowered his eyes, masking the dark glint hidden in them. Why would it be impossible? He'd fallen for Sharon the moment he saw her, and he'd spent a full year tracking and watching her ever since. When he didn't have time himself, he'd hire a private investigator to do it. In his spare time, he watched videos of her over and over. He never found it boring. If anything, he never got tired of it.Julliard knew perfectly well that although he came from the Macaron family, they were nowhere close to a top-tier household like the Kalens. Their social stan

Sharon didn't consider herself forgettable. Surely Thomas couldn't have forgotten her face this quickly. Was he face-blind? Did he just forget things instantly? She thought it over, then said, "I'm Sharon McKinzie. The one playing violin in the back garden earlier. You saved me. Don't you remember?"Even if he'd forgotten her face, surely her name would ring a bell.Thomas looked at her, then suddenly winced as if in pain."I don't remember. I don't remember any of what you just said."Something felt off to Sharon. She asked carefully, "Do you at least remember your own name?"Thomas frowned, thinking it over for a few seconds, then shook his head."No."The room went briefly still.Wendy was the first to react. "No way. Is he saying he lost his memory?"Sharon snapped out of it too. It would make sense, given how hard he'd hit his head in the crash, that something might be wrong. But the actual diagnosis needed to come from a doctor."Wendy, could you go get a doctor?" Sha

"Julliard, being this kind, in this day and age, can end up hurting you," Wendy said.He smiled. "I know. I just do what I can. I couldn't stand there and watch an innocent person die in front of me and do nothing."Sharon caught sight of Julliard's bandaged wrist, and guilt and regret welled up in her chest."Julliard, I'm sorry you got hurt because of this."She'd spent so much of her attention worrying about Thomas that she'd nearly overlooked Julliard's injury."It's nothing, just a small cut. It'll heal in a couple of days," he said, waving it off. "It's late, Sharon. You and Wendy should head back and get some rest. I just wrapped up a project recently, so if you need anything, don't hesitate to call."Sharon agreed, then climbed into Wendy's car and left.Julliard watched the direction they'd gone, his smile slowly fading, a dark shadow settling in his eyes....In the car, Wendy and Sharon talked about Julliard."Julliard's such a genuinely good person," Wendy said wi

When Sharon arrived at Thomas's hospital room, she found him playing a game on his phone."Thomas, how are you feeling today?" she asked. "Have you remembered anything?"He paused awhile, then looked up with a faint, unreadable smile. "If you're worried about Julliard misreading things after yesterday, you could always hand me a lump sum and send me on my way. That way no one has to keep assuming I'm angling to get close to you.""Julliard and I are just ordinary friends," Sharon said. "I wasn't worried about him misunderstanding anything. I asked how you were feeling because I actually care. Nothing more to it."The corner of Thomas's mouth curved into a knowing smile, though it was hard to tell if he believed her."I see.""Before you lost your memory, you told me you have trouble sleeping, and that hearing me play violin helps calm you down," Sharon said. "I promised you that once things with the kidnapping settled down, I'd play for you. The doctor told me your insomnia is
