EmmaJust when I thought no help was coming, he appeared like a knight in shining armor. Tears still blurred my eyes. I could barely see because of it but I spotted a shadow moving toward us.I didn’t know who it was. Was it Andrew? One of his friends? I had no idea. All I could hear were heavy footsteps and a loud, angry voice full of rage. It snapped Mike back to reality like a slap to the face.“What the hell—how did you find us?” Mike’s eyes went wide in shock. Then the man stepped out of the shadows, and I saw who it was.Ken.His chest rose and fell fast with anger. His nose flared. Eyes locked on Mike like a hunter spotting its prey. His whole body was tense, ready to fight. And for the first time…I felt a flicker of hope.He pushed Mike away on top of me. Mike stepped back instinctively. “You really thought no one would notice she was gone?” Ken said. “Emma and I just met when you took her. I saw her car remained parked outside. But she was gone. I knew something bad happene

AndrewThe window welcomed me with its views outside. I was staring, blank and empty. My eyes were set on the lines of trees and mountains covered with clouds, but within me, it was nothing. It was like my eyes didn’t perceive things at the moment. The room was quiet, so quiet that I could hear my own heartbeat. It lingered along with my breathing. The mansion felt less warm. The cold breeze strangely came into the four corners of my room. It stood beside me and wrapped its arms around my body. “It’s the right thing to do, Andrew,” I whispered to myself. I convinced myself.Guilt had no place in being the Alpha. We must always stay true no matter what the situation. It was the thing that made us different from the others. The blood compact was necessary. That deal had to be done no matter what the price was. I was the one who suggested it. My lips personally offered Emma to my friend. It wasn’t personal but a manly act of honor between Alphas. What kind of face would I show in fro

EmmaJulius and I found a quiet spot inside a café, not far from the hospital. The food was right in front of me, waving its scent upon my nose. But it failed to catch my appetite. Even the fancy garnish of bread and newly made tea was unable to make me touch it. I stared at the food for a moment. Julius remained silent on the other side of the table. I felt bad that my friend had to deal with this side of myself. I lifted my chin slightly, staring directly into Julius’ eyes. “I’m sorry I didn’t answer your question earlier.” Julius’ kind soul just responded with a gentle smile. “It’s okay, sis.” He sipped from the cup of black coffee he had ordered. “No one is forcing you to speak. But I’m here to make it less heavy. I’m here for you, Emma.” “No…” I whispered. “You were right to ask,” I exclaimed a little, feeling the courage finally entering my unprepared heart. “I think I am ready to share my story.” Julius placed the cup on the small plate and rested his hands under his chi

EmmaDays felt like years. The 29 consecutive days before the trial at the Lycan Jury were my hardest days. It had been almost a month since Ken and I decided to fight back through the help of the fair Jury. I still couldn’t believe that the day I had been looking forward to was right around the corner.I stared at the mini calendar on my desk. The month was filled with red markers. Only one was left uncrossed.“Just one more day, sweetie,” I whispered while holding my tummy. “And you’ll have the life you deserve.”Saying that, my heart was sent into a lighter bliss. For months, I had carried this heavy burden pressing against my chest. Now, I could feel the weight leaving me.It was easier to breathe, less stress just by thinking I didn’t have to stay here my entire life. And no more chances of meeting Jessica and Andrew on a daily basis. My life would flip differently. A new life was waiting for me. Most of all, for my baby.My phone beeped. I saw Ken’s name pop up on my notificatio

I couldn't stop crying anymore. My hands were tied behind my back and my body was already weak and trembling as I looked up at Jessica and Julius through swollen eyes.“Please, I am begging you,” I whispered. “Don’t hurt my baby. Please… please, I’ll do anything.”My voice cracked under the weight of desperation. But Jessica wasn’t even affected No sign of mercy. Her arms were crossed. Her cold stare was looking at me. She looked like a queen passing judgment. There was no compassion that could be seen on her face. No empathy.“I don’t need your pleading. Andrew’s decision is final,” she said simply.I was numbed. I lost my sense of everything. All that I could feel was the overwhelming feeling of helplessness inside my heart. How…how did I ended up being here? “Jessica,” I cried again. My voice splintered, “I’m begging you. You already have what you want. Don’t take this from me too.”My breath hitched. “Please…”But Jessica didn’t even spare me a glance. Instead, she simply turned
