All Chapters of Breaking free from his lies : Chapter 1 - Chapter 8

Claudia's POVI thought I was already broken the moment Preston started treating me like a useless thing and made me feel that he's already interested in someone, but I'm wrong. My heart broke into pieces after that night, when I lost my baby in a car accident. And that very night, Preston also happened to be in that place, driving his porsche car with his female assistant sitting on the passenger seatwhere I should be sitting. "P-Preston..." I uttered amidst weakness and shame. His car window rolled down and he saw my white dress covered in blood, while his assistant also looked at me with curiosity in her eyes. Preston covered his assistant's eyes and coldly muttered, "Bad luck. Don't look." Then he sped off like I'm just some trash. I sighed and thinking it was just a simple accident, I forced myself to get up and go home on my own. I tried so hard to be strong because I had no one to rely on but myself. Preston didn't care even though he could see that I was hurting. I washe

Ever since Preston and I started dating, I've been making him a birthday cake every single year—always manually. I don't miss it because I always like to surprise him with my creativity, but in the past few years, his attitude towards me has changed. And now when I glanced at the screen of his phone, I knew right then who it was for again. I'd seen that little cartoon avatar on his phone and it was Penelope's profile picture. For his assistant again! My fist slowly clenched. I didn't say a thing, making the living room feel so unnerving quiet.I just can't comprehend how Preston was completely unaware of how unreasonable and insensitive his request had been. He wanted me to make his assistant a birthday cake? For what? To make it look like he really likes her? "Well, you can really make that, right?" He looked at me, waiting for a yes.I let out a heavy sigh and eventually, I just nodded, keeping my expression neutral. "Send me the picture for my reference," I said, standing up. "I'

After that theatre scene, I go home alone and just found myself packing my stuff. "Gosh, this is so heavy!" I said in a tiry voice while looking at my two large baggages. I made sure that I packed all of my things, so that Preston wouldn't see any trace of my belongings here in his house. He didn't even bothered to call or just text me, huh? To atleast show his concern. Up to that kind of situation, he still cares about Penelope. Don't worry, Preston. You won't see me here anymore starting tomorrow. The next day, time passed by so fast and I just found myself at the airplane with my suitcase, waiting for my departure. As usual, Preston didn't go home so he didn't witness me leaving. But earlier, my phone kept buzzing nonstop and until now, Preston's name still flashing on my phone screen. I didn't bother answering his call. Instead, I set my phone silent.I knew he was upset now because right before boarding the plane, I sent him one final message. To: Preston [We're done.]Tha

I was so damn confused right now and hearing what Preston have said, my brows really furrowed like what does he mean by his treatment towards me compared to his treatment to Penelope? And one thing, does Penelope know that he's here?"Are you just playing some dumb shit right now, Preston? If yes, well I'm not playing with you." My first thought was that the message I sent Preston hadn't gone through. But that didn't make sense anymore. The idea was absurd. Even if by some miracle the message failed to send, well, he was smart. He should've understood what my resignation meant! So why was he standing in front of me at my parents' house, shamelessly acting like none of this made sense?I didn't bother asking him any questions anymore. Instead, I met his gaze with indifference, my patience wearing thin."If you really didn't get it, well, let me make it clear for you then," I said, keeping my voice steady but firm for him to know that I'm really serious. "Preston, I want to break up
