Lahat ng Kabanata ng Chasing Athena (ENGLISH): Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

“I don’t know how long I’ll be staying here in his penthouse,” I said while looking at the pool. I’m on the phone with Vanessa right now, and I’m outside where I can see the tall buildings and the wide ocean.[Why? Is there a problem?]She clearly sounded worried about my situation, and I could feel it in her voice.“No, not really. It’s just… I don’t see myself living here, especially since we’re not even married. I only agreed to this kind of set-up because of Aaron.”[It sounds like you’re regretting your decision?]I couldn’t answer right away, because it’s true. It’s like I suddenly started regretting it the moment we came here. I just can’t seem to accept everything that’s happening right now. First of all, agreeing to live with him; second, living here in his penthouse, not knowing how to adjust to a life I’m not used to; and third, what Zach said earlier—that we’ll be living together forever. Just that alone, my mind can’t even process it.[Stop saying things like "just becaus

"Umm, can we talk?" I asked Zander before Zach could question him about that so-called "date" of ours tomorrow."Sure, let’s go to my room," he replied, glancing at Zach and grinning, which made his brother frown.Ugh! Here he goes again. Why does he love teasing his brother so much?"Zander…" I said, my voice already carrying a hint of warning."Just kidding, let’s talk somewhere else," he said, laughing as he walked ahead.I just watched him walk away, shaking my head, before turning my gaze to Zach—only to realize he was already looking at me. But his expression was serious, and his brows were furrowed.“What was that, Athena?” he asked, his voice tinged with irritation.“I’ll explain it to you later. I just need to talk to him real quick. This won’t take long, I promise. Go ahead and check on Aaron, I’ll follow you there,” I quickly replied, then immediately walked away to catch up with Zander. That’s when I remembered—he did ask me out on a date last week, and I said yes. But I’v

I was still thinking about what Yael told me earlier, even after I got home to the penthouse. When I found out about it, I didn’t ask him any more questions—I just nodded in response, even though the truth was, I didn’t really know what he was talking about. I want to hear the rest of the story from Zach because I have a feeling that issue is connected to what happened in the past.“Mommy, what time is Daddy coming home?” Aaron asked from the living room, where he was doing his homework. I, on the other hand, was in the kitchen preparing our dinner.“I don’t know, sweetheart, but I think he’s on his way home,” I replied.Zach and I didn’t go home together earlier, and I also didn’t tell him that I was going ahead. I wanted to say goodbye, but he wasn’t in his office at the time. I don’t know his schedule, and the only one who does is his secretary. I want to call her and ask where Zach is, but she might find it suspicious.“Does a boss always come home late at night, Mommy?” Aaron ask

I suddenly lost the motivation to work because of the things he said earlier. I know I’m not the only one he scolded and lectured, but it felt like all of it was directed at me.What else do I have to do for him to trust me? Because the way he looked at me earlier, it was like he had no trust in my abilities. It’s like everything I do is trash in his eyes. Like I’ve never done anything right or good for his company. It’s exhausting, and I feel like I just want to rest.“Athena, let’s have lunch first. You can finish that later. There’s still plenty of time, and the deadline has been adjusted anyway,” Trixie said as she approached my table.“You two go ahead, I’ll follow. I still need to go to Finance to follow up on the budget proposal. I promise I’ll catch up,” I answered and gave her a small smile.“Oh, isn’t Marketing the one assigned to that?”“Yeah, but it’s fine with me. I’ll just catch up with you there.”Trixie didn’t insist any further and eventually walked away, while I went

“Sir, w-wait a moment,” I stopped him. And he did stop to face me. But he was still holding onto my arm.Honestly, people were already staring at us. I knew why, because they recognized who I was with. It was Zach, after all, the owner of this beach resort, so there’s no way people here wouldn’t recognize him.“Why? What’s wrong?” he asked curiously. “And just call me by my name,” he added, which surprised me.Wow, so we’re on a first-name basis now?“It’s just that people have been staring at us for a while. And you don’t have to drag me around like that,” I said awkwardly, and then he let go of my arm.“Oh, I’m sorry. Don’t mind them, they don’t even know you. And if they talk about me or you, I’ll eventually find out, and they’ll definitely be kicked out of here,” he said and smiled at me.He’s insane! He’d really do that just for me? I don’t know—he might just end up regretting it later.“Whatever, it’s up to you. But hey, why did you put my things in your villa? The organizer alr
