Chasing Athena (ENGLISH)

I didn’t feel like getting up—I was too lazy to go to school. It was already seven in the morning, and I hadn’t even started getting ready. I don’t know, I just felt so unmotivated today.I’m only in second year high school, but here I am, already being lazy. It’s not that I hate studying—my quiz and exam scores are always high, and I consistently do well in recitations and projects too. But sometimes, laziness just gets the better of me."Ugh, so tiring," I muttered to myself, finally deciding to get out of bed. I grabbed my towel and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.I let out a deep sigh, in the end, I’m still going to school anyway."Dear, Athena."That was Aunt Rosa’s voice, my mom’s sister who raised me ever since my mom passed away.I was about to take a shower, but that didn’t happen. I was holding a bucket of water when I heard her enter my room. What could she possibly need?"Yes, Auntie? I’m in the bathroom. Is there something you need?" I called out from inside. I e

"Hey, Athena!"I was snapped back to reality because of what Vanessa did. This friend of mine, I swear—every time I’m deep in thought, she just has to ruin it."What now? I’m thinking here and you just had to butt in," I grumbled, but she only laughed."Sorry bestie, it’s just—you were totally spacing out. What were you thinking about again? Your secret admirer? My God, let it go already. We’re in our first year of college and he still hasn’t revealed himself," she said as she placed a cup of coffee in front of me.Geez. She’s right, though. We’re already in college and I still haven’t found out who the first guy to make my heart race really is. I’m not even sure if that guy I met three years ago… was really him. After what happened between the two of us, I never saw him again—and until now, I haven’t even returned the shirt he lent me. I don’t even know where he is now, but from what I heard, he went abroad to study. That’s why it feels impossible that he’s the same *Mr. Z* who’s sti

WARNING! SPG SCENES!I couldn't do anything but stay there. Honestly, I wanted to leave because I could feel this strange energy around me, and on top of that, I was starting to feel dizzy. But he wouldn't let me go, even after I insisted several times. This was definitely not the right decision to have helped him. I really should have just left him downstairs and let the guard take care of him. But I would feel guilty if something happened to him.He walked toward his bedroom, and I just followed him with my eyes while I stayed seated on the couch. I breathed a sigh of relief when he made it inside without stumbling. This was my chance to leave.I walked slowly towards the door, but after only a few steps, I suddenly heard a thud from inside his room.I just run a hand to my face out of frustration as I walked toward his room. When you’re unlucky, Athena.I even made the sign of the cross before entering his room. And there I found him sprawled on the floor with no shirt on.I immedi

It’s been a week since that incident with that guy. And it’s been a week of being gossiped about by people around here. False rumors that are ruining my reputation.Because of what happened, everyone thinks I work at the bar to sell my body, in other words, a prostitute. I don’t know how it got to that point. I only told Aunt Rosa and Vanessa, but how did it spread all over the whole neighborhood? Neither Aunt Rosa nor Vanessa told anyone, but somehow, those rumors are everywhere."Dear, how are you feeling?" Aunt Rosa asked when she saw me coming down the stairs from my room."Still the same, Auntie, but I’m okay. Please don’t worry about me," I responded.I had just woken up because I wasn’t feeling well. I don’t know why, but I think it’s just because of fatigue and lack of sleep."Well, that’s good to hear, but later, don’t take any medicine, just for today," she said, which made me a little confused."Why, Auntie?" I asked, confused. She avoided looking at me and quickly headed t

"Thank you," I muttered while staring into the distance.I felt shy to look at him—I don't even know why, but maybe it's because this is the first time we've seen each other again after three years. The two of us are here now, up on the stage near the field. I’ve already lost the motivation to attend class because of what happened earlier. It's already halfway through the second period, and soon it’ll be time to go home anyway. I’ll just wait for class to end before heading home."Are you okay?" he asked. I immediately turned to him and caught him looking at me.He’s worried—I can see it in his eyes, but… why?“Probably you’re not, it’s written on your face,” he said, looking away from me. I could only sigh deeply, trying to stop myself from crying."I saw that post circulating in the social media that's why every students here in campus were talking and badmouthing about you."So he saw it too. Well, it’s been all over social media, even here in the university. It seems like almost e
