LUCAS POV.I had no idea how I managed to have restraint in myself all through the drive back home, but I no longer needed to put a fucking leash on myself.“I want to taste you, Isabella,” I groaned, shutting the door behind me while kicking off my shoes. She avoided my gaze entirely, her cheeks heating up in response to my words.I yanked off the shirt and pants I had on, stripping down to my briefs until I stood naked in the room, panting heavily.“Look at me, Isa,” I slurred out. Slowly, she lifted her gaze to mine. I didn’t shield myself away. In fact, I enjoyed how her eyes lingered on my body for a longer time until eventually, she shied away.“Before…” I ordered. She parted her lips to argue, but a low grumble from me corrected whatever attitude she intended on putting on. She sat idly at the edge, her knees pressed against each other.I swallowed, bending down to both my knees right beneath her laps. God, she had me doing things no one else did.“You like the view?” I asked,

LUCA'S POV.I shifted uneasily in my seat, checking my wrist constantly. I'd watched the hour dance from early morning to sixteen minutes past nine. This wasn’t how I planned the entire thing.“Took you long enough,” I muttered beneath my breath as Kirill finally made his way into the car.“We had to be sure every single one of them was weeded out. The last one was quite a trouble,” Kirill explained.I nodded, folding my arms over my chest. “And?” I asked, urging him on, my patience wearing thin.“The entire Shadows had been cleared out. Their warehouses were hit and burnt, and the valuables seized… although all we have on the leader is still the fact that she’s a female. I'm sorry, but on that aspect, no movement has been made,” Kirill explained, averting his gaze from mine.I tapped him slowly on the shoulder, causing him to cross gazes with me. “You tried. You've done your best, okay? Now take a trip… a week or two. Do anything you want. You deserve it,” I ordered. The lines of sh

ISABELLA'S POV.Sleeping was impossible, not when my mind raced with a million thoughts and a billion worries. It was dawn now, still dark out, but from the clock, I could see it was still early, fifteen past five, and Luca still wasn’t home.I tossed in bed again, shoving the bothering ache in my chest aside. Of course, what more should I expect? It wasn’t like he cared. He wouldn’t be coming back home.Yet I wanted to be certain he was at least safe, even if it meant he had gone into Alessia’s arms. I didn’t want him driving with such pent-up rage. I'd never felt so insecure my entire life. Had Viviana’s words been true? What would it be like if he ended up with her? Would he plan to have kids?At the sudden thought of kids, a foreign emotion stirred in me. Of course, I had a brother to look out for, but I wanted a child of my own, and I hardly think Luca would entertain the idea. I wasn’t his ideal type of wife. Gently, I traced my fingers across his side of the bed, pain sinking d

ISABELLA'S POV. I didn’t ask where we were going. I didn’t need to. For once, I let myself just be with him, let him lead without question. When the car finally pulledd to a slow stop, I blinked at the sight before me. A sprawling estate stood elegant yet hauntingly empty. The gates creaked open as Luca pressed a button, guiding us inside. My breath hitched as I took in the sight before me.“What is this?” I whispered, turning to him, but Luca was already out of the car,He opened my door, his hand reaching for mine.“It’s yours,” he said simply, his voice steady but low.Mine.I looked at him, my brows furrowing. “Luca—”“I never got to spoil you,” he cut in, his grip on my fingers tightening. “And I fucking hate it.”My lips parted, but nothing came out. The weight of his words sat heavy in my chest. I followed as he pulled me inside, the soft click of his shoes echoing through the empty halls. It smelled like fresh wood and paint, the air thick with something unspoken.“I had it b

.LUCA'S POVAnother 365 fucking days for me—today was my birthday.Although it did me well, I had Isabella with me now. Her brother, however, had opted to go out with his friends. I had my guards on them, but honestly, I'd prefer it no other way. Matteo, I could tolerate, but his friends? Asher and Glean? They were the worst.I shrugged mentally. Thinking of them would sour my mood, and I wasn’t in need of that shit now, especially when they wouldn’t stop their shameless, baseless flirting with Isabella. And yes, she made me swear not to harm them or their families… and God, it was painfully annoying.“Happy birthday to you, Luca,” Isabella mouthed, planting a slow kiss on my lips, wrapping her fingers into mine as she sat next to me.A cough escaped Viviana’s lips as she shot daggered gazes in Isabella’s direction. Yep. They still hated each other. I get it—their first encounter was crap—but God, I'd go bollocks if they decided to keep the crap on.My eyes trailed to Macinni, who se
