Chapter 41

There's screaming, the music in the ballroom wasn't playing anymore. I think I heard a crash somewhere. I looked around frantically at the panicked faces of people rushing past me, mostly women, to the exit. A lot of people ducked behind tables and chairs and I reached for the gun that I strapped in between my thighs earlier. Another gunshot cracked through the room and I'm struggling to pinpoint where it's coming from till I see a body drop to the floor. He wore an expensive looking white suit. A white suit that's now red with his blood. My arms were outstretched in front of me, as I steady my hands with the gun, my finger ready to pull the trigger if need be. Chapter 42

My eyes pressed together in a squint, before they fluttered open. I inhaled sharply as I'm immediately flooded with lights. I closed my eyes back quickly and let out some air. I took some moment to breathe and tried to recollect the last thing I remember. I was in the hall and I was trying to find a way out and I found it, but then. I rose to sit up and gasped but fell right back.
