Lahat ng Kabanata ng My Billionaire Rebound: Kabanata 151 - Kabanata 160

THEON Bryon was pulling strings that were far tighter than I thought was within his range. Everything was spinning, and my heart thudded in my chest like a drum. There was so much I wanted to do, like smash my phone into the wall, but none of that was going to help me in any way. I pit my temper on a leash - with great difficulty, might I add - and clicked to receive the incoming call."I see you've received my present. What do you think about it?" He sounded so smug it made me grate my teeth in annoyance. No response came from me. Instead, I held the phone to my ear and listened as he snickered into the receiver."Oh, come on, brother. Don't be like that. We both know silence isn't going to help us any."Again, no response came from me. This time, his voice was cold, filled with a venom that was obviously deadly."Who do you want to die first?""Is that a threat?" I asked, my voice so calm you wouldn't believe I was on the edge of an emotional storm."You're not playing by the rules

ALINAThe elevator finally comes to a stop at the thirtieth floor, and he offers me a nod just as the doors spill open.“Shall we?”My head moves in an answering nod and I follow him out of the elevator, walking into the penthouse suite of the hotel. If I thought the ground floor of this building was exquisite, then I was gravely mistaken. This place looks like a secret garden on the other side of the clouds.Roses are littered everywhere – red petals dotting the floor, floral arches bringing a softer pink set over our heads, and candles flickering with soft light that adds to the romantic vibe. The arrangement is so elegant that something constricts painfully in my chest. When we get to the bedroom and the final design comes into view, my feet grind to a halt. This is a proposal. The words “Marry Me” are written in designs of red and pink petals.Different varieties of a refusal start to dance around in my skull. This is so out of my field of thought that it makes me cringe. ALINAThe couple in front of me is laughing for the third time since they arrived twenty minutes ago, and that is minus the kisses they have shared and pictures that have been clicked.Refraining from rolling my eyes at them, I look around the sparkly space. Christmas lights hang over the walls and meet the chandelier in an arched dance, carols blaring softly from the piano as a suit-clad gentleman decides to play something for his date.Loneliness hums inside of me again, the sound echoing through the emptiness of my insides. I reach for my glass and take a sip of water, then glance at my watch again. It has been over an hour since I arrived here to meet my client of the night, and while I have always hated waiting on people, the thought of making that extra cash left me in place – more sad than angry. As if on cue, my phone pings with a message alert. I lift the sleek device and unlock it.“Sorry, Ellie. Have to pick up my girl.”That’s all. No further explanation or consideration f

ALINAThe last place I want to be right now is here. The sounds of music drift through the air in waves of melody, and I watch as pack wolves circle the firepit in the middle of the arena, dancing around it and releasing long howls.I am supposed to be happy, but I can’t bring myself to feel anything. Especially not when the person who I am sure died on this day – while birthing me. And the man she left behind that was supposed to be my father sees me as nothing more than an annoying reminder of what he lost.“Kendra, right?” a familiar voice calls out to me, sarcasm coating his words. My eyes squeeze close in barely held frustration. “Ethan. A pleasure to see you as always.” I greet through gritted teeth. His voice carries over the music in loud laughter. “Charming as always.”“Someone has to carry the burden since you’re so incapable,”He lowers himself to the empty seat beside me and I fight back a groan. “Daddy dearest thought I should say hi.”His chin jerks in the direction of t
