Damien’s POV“Where is Liv?” I thought as I paraded the corridors. The guards lined in front of me with their heads down. “Where is my Luna?!!!!” I thundered and they flinched. Why the fuck are they mute? I had been asking them about Olivia, but they could only tell me that she left the pack house very early this morning. That was not the problem, but how none of them thought to ask her where she was going, or even go with her baffled me. At least one of these useless guards should have informed me– rather they were careless about her. They didn’t care enough. I promise to make their lives a living hell until someone can provide me with some information to find Olivia.“Did she take Jeremy with her?” “Sire, when she passed, she was dressed and armed, but she didn’t take Young Jeremy with her.”I ran my hand through my hair. Jeremy and Olivia were nowhere to be found. My heart was ricocheting right now. I had checked the entire pack and even the woods with my guards this morning and

Damien’s POVI straddled my horse and headed down the markings I had seen in the woods. I believed Olivia had come down this path. But there were a couple other markings– my blood turned cold at the thought of her being with Austin. Why would she take Jeremy and leave with Austin? I thought as I kicked the horse, a couple other guards were coming with me. “Follow the trails,” I ordered at the other guards coming with me.I was fully armed, in case Austin had planned something for me. Did he kidnap Olivia? Or did he blackmail her into running off with him.I saw how he looked at her on the terrace that day. It wasn’t with respect as he usually did, but with something darker– Want.My heart ached as I feared to admit it. These days Olivia had been so distant from me and she barely told me anything but I had a strong feeling that something wasn’t right. There was this odd feeling in my chest too, everywhere was too quiet. Just too silent for my pack house. We went down the trails and

Damien’s POV“Enemy?” I thought as my heart lunged forward in pain. “My Liv referred to me as an enemy?” I grabbed my chest as I watched from behind the huge tree. She asked me to leave, I did leave but I came out. I couldn’t risk leaving her there alone with an injured Austin. What if a wild animal smelled his blood and attacked them. So after my men and I had gone forward a little bit. I told them to keep going while I came back on foot and hid behind the big tree just where I could keep an eye on her. Those three men had arrived and I was about to charge when I saw her talking to them and I knew they were acquitted. But then I heard her saying that an enemy had brought the attack upon Austin. Was that what she saw me as now? An enemy? Why? What was she saying about a mistress? I had learnt my lesson after being with Briana and leaving her. I had known that it was Olivia I needed for my life to be whole. “So why would she think I had someone else aside from her.” My head rang wi

Olivia’s POVHer gaze didn’t waver. “You don’t have a choice. They’ll be here in minutes. And if he’s still inside these walls when they arrive, you’ll lose him to them instead of me."Austin’s voice came weakly from behind me. “Don’t… let her…”I didn’t look back. My focus stayed locked on Jeremy. “Jeremy," I said carefully, “Come here. Now."He didn’t move. Selene’s hand tightened slightly on his shoulder. “He’s starting to understand. And the longer you fight it, the worse it will get for him."I took another step forward. And the sound of a horn split the air. It was low, deep and so loud it made the stones under my boots vibrate. From the treeline beyond the gate, figures began to emerge. Dozens this time. All wearing the same skull masks as before.“Damien?” I thought out loud.Jeremy turned his head toward them. And then… he smiled again. The horn’s echo had barely faded before the first masked fighters broke into a run. “Close the gate!” I shouted.Guards dropped from the wall

Olivia’s POVAs the horns blasted off the mountains a second time, the Creature raised its frame, standing up right. But the masked fighters shifted back a bit, uneasy, their gaze focused on the mountains.Selene’s golden gaze narrowed. “So, his scent is familiar," she said.A deep voice carried from beyond the gates. “Move aside.” It was only two words, but it made the hair stand at the back of my neck. My blood boiled as I knew who it was. Damien. What the heck was he doing? I thought I asked him to stay the fuck away from me. I rolled my eyes and turned to see him shattering down the hill, his knees patch stained with mud from the fight with Austin earlier. So he had stayed behind? The masked men– those were his. Was he the one who sent them truly? As the creature stayed put, the masked men were about to match forward to fight him– They weren’t his men. So what happened? Did they steal the masks or what?“Don’t touch him,” Selene ordered. “It’s suicide.” She stared at Damien and t
