Chapter 21Lisa The smell of breakfast and the rays of light simmering the window forced me to open my eyes. I met Klaus standing by the side, a trolley of food by his side, and two maids that rushed to dish out the meal. Chapter 23Lisa"What's happening? What's he going to do?" I asked in a frantic tone as Damon led me away from the brothers. Mark was still unconscious by the side, but at the moment I couldn't care less about him. "It's nothing to concern yourself with, Alpha Klaus will be fine." Damon answered with a subtle tone, one that made me relax a bit. There was confidence in his voice, and although it eased my concern for Klaus a little, I was still terrified of what he'd do to me for disobeying him. There was no telling what would have happened if he didn't come when he did. "What about Icarus, what will Klaus do to him?" I inquired, and this time there was a shift in Damon's expression. He wasn't pleased that I was concerned about the safety of Klaus's enemy, and while I completely understand the reason for his hate towards Icarus, I wasn't exactly filled in on the story. Chapter 25Lisa The days moved slowly, and with each passing day, Klaus and I got closer to each other. Although we had our differences, the both of us were genuinely doing our best to get to know the other. Mark on the other hand wasn't exactly happy with my growing relationship with Klaus. He never brought it up while we were alone, but he made sure I was aware of his disapproval through his facial expressions. I did my best not to pay attention to Mark's opinion anymore. I had expected an apology from him after the incident outside the gates, but that never came. And when I confronted him about it, he pinned the blame on me, and said I was a coward and an ingrate for choosing the comfort of wealth over our relationship. Enraged by his words, I reminded him that I had saved his life from both Icarus and Klaus on that day. Chapter 27Lisa "Why didn't you tell me about the deal with Alpha Anders?" I asked Klaus the moment he stepped into the room. He had barely dropped the suitcase in his possession, and had barely gotten any rest. However, I had contained my curiosity all day. It had been bottled up for far too long, one second longer and I might have gone insane. A brief sigh broke past his lips, and from the glance he flashed me, I could tell he knew exactly what I was talking about. "Who told you about that?" Klaus returned, a look of curiosity etched onto his face. "It doesn't matter, I know the truth now, and I want answers." I snapped at him. Exhaustedly, he pushed back his ruffled hair into a steady position, before settling on the bed with me. "I thought it didn't matter anymore since the arrangement had already been called off. Maeve understands that she can't give me what I want, and Alpha Anders understands that as well. There was no need to tell you about it since it's now irrelevant."

Chapter 29Klaus Lisa and I returned to the noisy hall a second time, only this time George was the center of attention. People crowded around him with congratulatory messages on their lips. Lisa and I stood aside and watched the entire drama, and occasionally would smile and exchange pleasantries with any of the guests that cared to approach us. Despite the laughter and cheery atmosphere, I couldn't shake off the unease that had crept over me. I couldn't stop thinking about Maeve. Where was she? What was she up to? Was she fine? Is her life in danger? I couldn't stop thinking about her. I wanted to pick up my phone, call Damon, and instruct him to begin a search for Maeve immediately.
