Scarlett’s POV.My hand froze on the door handle, my whole body stiffening. For a second, I almost pulled the door open and ignored him fully. But before I could go through with it, he moved closer. “Where are you going?”I didn’t turn around to look at him. My heart raced loudly inside my ears, the anger too heavy inside my chest. My voice came out tight, colder than I meant. “It’s not your concern. Not after what you did.”I could feel him stop just a step behind me. His silence pressed hard, steady, suffocating. I gripped the door tighter, refusing to let him see how badly my hands shook as I slid into the back of the car.“Scarlett,” he pressed on, quieter now. Calm. Controlled. “Please get out of the car. We need to talk.”“I don’t owe you anything.” My eyes stung, but I refused to blink, refused to let him see tears. “I’m done here.”The driver groaned, impatient, breaking the tension. “If you’re not going, lady, I’ve got other jobs. You’re wasting my time and money here.”Leon
