《I Wouldn't Choose You, Either》全部章節：第 1 章 - 第 10 章

When I turned around to wash my face and get ready for bed, Samuel said, “It’s not because of her.”Those words came out of nowhere, but I understood what he meant. He was saying that he was not divorcing me because of Mia Louise. But that was no longer important. I did not want to be with a man who cheated on me. “You’re sleeping in the guest bedroom today.”I locked the master bedroom, and the tears I had been holding back finally fell. I had thought that Samuel was joking when he asked for a divorce, but that was far from the truth. …The next morning, I packed my luggage, ready to move out. When I walked past the guest bedroom, I instinctively looked inside. Samuel was not there. It seemed the sounds I heard last night were not in my dream. “You’re scared? Alright. I’ll come over right now.”That was followed by Samuel’s hurried footsteps. He walked to the master bedroom and stood in front of the door for a long time before leaving. Samuel had never lost h

I pretended not to have heard him. “You can’t pretend everything the media says is a lie, you know,” I said. There was a flicker of hesitancy in Samuel’s face, but he said nothing.I stared at him stubbornly. Once, I went with him to a dinner party, and the media took pictures of us, so he admitted that we were married. But on the day of the concert, he had said those words in public and had shown me no respect at all. The newspapers were saying that Mia was a homewrecker, and Samuel looked down on my family because my brother and I had only had each other to rely on for survival.Samuel’s company had not responded to those articles. This was why he had not gone to the courthouse. He was protecting Mia. I could no longer keep my cool and cried. Samuel pinched the center of his brows in frustration. “This isn’t the time for us to get a divorce. You saw the news. Mia can’t be called a homewrecker!”“But she is!” I cried out hoarsely.Samuel glared at me.“I knew he

It documented the life they had together after they were married. [Samuel took me out for steak today. It was tasty, but I didn’t know how to eat steak as I had never had one before. Luckily, Samuel didn’t look down on me. With his help, I learned how to cut them!]When Samuel saw those words, he recalled the events of that night. That was their first date, and he had taken matters into his own hands by booking the restaurant. But Dawn did not know how to eat steak. When he saw her sitting uneasily across from him, he finally realized something was off. So, he taught her how to cut up her steak and exchanged his plate for hers after he cut everything up for her. At that time, Dawn had blushed as she looked at him. “Thank you,” she had said softly. Samuel proposed to her that night, and Dawn agreed to it without even thinking twice. After that, she assumed he might think that she had said yes only because of his money, so she hurriedly said, “I don’t want your money. I l

As a test subject of the clinical trial, Cole was at the center of it all.Samuel would surely see that and find out where we were. But that did not matter anymore. What was important was Cole’s health. I rented a two-bedroom apartment with the money the director had paid us and moved in. Neither Cole nor I had much luggage. We went overseas with nothing much and returned with nothing much as well.If I had to be exact, I did bring back something. I brought back a healthy Cole.At exactly 12:00 p.m. UTC, the vaccine was revealed to the public. Once the media found out that Cole was the test subject, they started digging around for more information on him. I had not expected that the first person to find us would be Samuel. When I came back home from buying some groceries with Cole at night, I found Samuel standing in front of the door. I instinctively stopped. Cole noticed my reaction and looked around in confusion to find out what was wrong. The moment he saw the per

News reporters surrounded me as I tried to leave the hospital after getting my arm bandaged.“Mrs. Gardner, how does it feel to have your husband’s mistress attack you?”“Is it true that your brother became a test subject and received the first vaccine for leukemia?”I looked at the cameras and smiled. “I don’t know why the ‘mistress’ came to me, but Samuel Gardner did visit me,” I said meaningfully. “Cole was a test subject for the leukemia vaccine.”When the reporters heard this, they berated her with another string of questions. “You’re already married to Mr. Gardner, so why did you take the risk and let your brother become a test subject?”I continued smiling. “Because Samuel asked me for a divorce. It was the only thing I could do for Cole’s health.”The reporters burst into an uproar at that. I did not know what they were going to write in their articles, nor did I care. At night, I received a call from the police station. The police told me that they had arrested
