Lahat ng Kabanata ng No memories of my Billionaire Husband : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Velaré—a high-end restaurant with private dining rooms, tucked away behind a nondescript black façade on the streets of Manhattan.Velaré was invisible to the average New Yorker. No signs. No menus in the window. A high-end tailor shop on the left, art shop on the right.Like a veil of night, it was hidden behind a giant black gate. A fingerprint panel, seamlessly embedded in the stone wall, invisible unless you knew where to press. No door handle, no bell. If your name wasn’t already in the system, you’d walk right by. The perfect discretion.June stood staring at the walls, her hands hung numb by her sides as though her body was reacting to what her mind couldn’t catch up with. Tears ran down her face and she didn’t bother to wipe them away. Her mind felt as if it were collapsing in on itself. She had started remember things that made no sense— unclear faces, ambiance, rushing through her mind at the speed of light without any clarity. No distinction between what’s real, what’s ima

As soon as she felt his grip loosen, she grabbed her bag and stormed out of the room. “June, baby, please…” “June.” “June!” His voice grew less audible as she moved farther from the room. “Ma’am, here’s your jack—” She snatched it from his hand without waiting for him to finish and stormed out of the building like her life depended on it. “What happened, ma?” She ignored Mr. Williams’s concern and entered into the car before he had the chance to open the door for her. Mr. Williams stood stunned for a moment. He was worried, more like terrified of what Mr. Smith might do if he found out something had happened to her under his watch. He got into the driver’s seat and cautiously asked again, “Madam, is there a problem?” “Just drive, please,” she responded, her voice filled with agitation. As the car pulled away from Velaré, she let out a heavy sigh. The truth she had uncovered was simply too much to bear. Had her life not already been burdensome enough? She didn’t just have a

There was no action, so the voice repeated the same statement with louder volume this time, echoing through the walls of Alex’s office. Alex had gone to urgently attend to some important matters, leaving his phone behind on the office table. The display dimmed and the screen faded to black. . . . June let out a sharp exhale and smiled, bewildered by the sight in front of her—it was immaculate and incomparable to anything she had ever seen. “Who knew he had such good taste in cars, if only he weren’t such a horrible person.” It was Linda’s first time in the showroom. She was in charge of taking care of the building, but even she didn’t have the authority to be there. Alex has impeccable taste for cars and collecting them was his thing although a few of them were passed down to him by his late father. June was in awe as she walked down to the very last car while gliding through every one of them with her fingers. She couldn't believe that one of them could be her’s. “

“No, please, Alex. I will not go. Please, I love you.” “I do not want you, Martha. I admit that initially, I felt bad for you for ending the engagement so suddenly.” “But, right now, I’m so glad I didn't end up with someone as lowly as you.” “I never want to see you again, not in my company, not in my home, and especially not with my wife.” Three bodyguards entered the office like a movie scene just after he concluded his statement as though it were planned. “Take her away,” he commanded them, his voice cold and firm. “No, no!” She crawled rapidly towards him, trying to get away from the bodyguards, but they rushed and grabbed her. “Noooo!” she yelled. When she noticed that her pathetic display wasn't moving Alex, he just stared at the situation with an icy demeanor, she began to speak rashly.” “You are married to a pathetic woman and she is going to be the end of you, you’ll regret ever treating me like this. You'll come back crying.” “I promise you!” She yelled as they l

“I should start going now,” she said.“But we just got here. At least let me treat you to some food. You may not remember, but Velaré has the best food in the state.”“I must go, but we can keep talking over the phone.”“I almost forgot—what app was it? The one we were chatting with before my accident? I got a new phone.”“Give me the phone; I’ll help you set it up,” Christian said, stretching out his hand and taking the phone from her. In no time, he was able to install the app, create an account for her, and add himself as a contact.“All done,” he said, giving the phone back to her.“Thank you.”“It’s nothing. Let me escort you to your car.”Christian held the door open for June to walk through and he walked right beside her like a distinguished gentleman.“Oh no, let me open it for you,” he said to June, preventing her from opening the car door herself.“Make sure to tell me when you get home, okay.”“I will.”As the car approached the gate, it automatically opened, and in the sid
