LORAI woke in this penthouse feeling sad, it's been two weeks me and Alex have been staying with Erin and it never still feels like home. Though I can't say the same for Alex. He's been really happy that his mum and dad are finally staying together—Only if he knew it was just a temporary arrangement. After the awful night that Vivienne visited, I didn't hear from her again which is very comforting—That woman gives me bad vibes.I was about to rush to the bathroom to wash up and start my morning just like every other day when my phone rang from the night stand I left it. I strolled towards it and without even bothering to look at the caller, I pressed the green button."Hello""Hi, Lora, this Elena."

ErinThe conference room stinks of fear and expensive cologne. Ten executives sat round the conference table as if awaiting judgement. One of the executives, Mr. Bannol or Barrow started fidgeting, brows slick with sweat, some even shrunk back on their chairs when I reached for a bottle of water. Others decided to quickly take notice of the new Art hung on the wall while evading any kind of eye contact with me. I don’t blame them. I’m absolutely pissed right now.“Gentlemen.” I spat. While half of them almost scrambled together like chickens . I learned forward, putting my elbows on the monogamy table. “You’ve had six months to deliver tangible results, and now all I hear is excuses.”

LORAThe logo looks so wrong on my laptop screen.I keep making changes I’m not even sure I need, while the stranger’s words. I mean Marcus Stone’s ultimatum pound in my skull like some kind of apocalyptic countdown to my doom.I have just seventy-two hours to come to terms with my plans and decisions.Reluctantly, I switch off the laptop, staring at the blank screen as if it holds the answer to my salvation. My stomach growls as if a football tournament is taking place inside. The coffee I made this morning has already gone cold and I don’t want to go to the kitchen.Erin’s been moving around nonstop in the apartment, like he’s searching for something, which I am sure is probably his way of trying to get my attention.I know it’s insane, living in the same house with someone and spending half your energy trying to avoid them. But it’s still better than confronting a man who’s rejected you twice like you’re a slice of stale ham.I love my dignity too damn much to beg for love or parade

LORAWaking up in Erin’s room evokes a different kind of feeling I can't even name. The previous day had been like a disaster waiting to happen and Erin had stepped in to save the day which surprised me.I already made a mental note to return to my room immediately after our charade, and hopefully we won't have to do this again.I tried to turn and get up, but strangely it felt like something heavy was holding me in place, intimate for my liking. Checking it out, it turned out to be the big bad wolf’s arm, draped around my waist like a protective armlet. His breath warm against my neck and my traitorous heart did a flip-flop…Mtchewww.I still need to get out of bed, so slowly and as quietly as I can,

LORAMy phone buzzing scared the hell out of me. I mean, everything's been so... God, I seem to have lost the ability to think clearly. I grabbed the device with trembling fingers, squinting at the bright screen that seemed to mock me in the dim lighting of my room."Dinner at Chez Laurent. 8 PM. We need to talk Lora."My stomach dropped somewhere around my ankles as the words struck. Formal, urgent, and full of hidden meaning, David never sent messages like this. His texts were typically lighthearted, asking about Alex's soccer practice or making small jokes. This felt different. This seemed like he's planning something.I really can’t take any chances. Marcus has been circling us like a shark for weeks now. Nobody knows what he'll do next. And now David wants to "talk" . My brain was already spinning worst-case scenarios.Still had to check on him though. "Everything okay?"His answer came back way too fast."Perfect. Just say yes."Perfect. Sure. Because that's a word that descri
