Semua Bab You Watched Me Break, Now Watch Me Rise: Bab 751 - Bab 760

James didn't take Beverly home, but to see an orthopedic hand specialist instead so she could have the wound on her hand treated again. As they sat in the backseat of the car, James held Beverly's hand and eyed her darkly. "Why did you leave with Evan's men?"He'd thought she would be safe as long as Kyle was with her, but she'd unexpectedly gotten hurt. James couldn't shake his paranoia after that and had his men tail her.His men had watched as Evan's bodyguards approached Beverly. They'd wanted to interfere and stop the men, only to be caught off guard when Beverly slid into the bodyguards' car on her own.Beverly had wanted to demand answers from Evan, but she'd run into Cindy before she could even meet Evan."I… wanted to punish Cindy. She's my half-sister from my father's side and also Evan's mistress. She ruined my marriage and my family and broke my heart. I didn't want to let her get away so easily, so I left with Evan's bodyguards."Beverly burrowed her face in James' c

A flush stole across Beverly's cheeks as she eyed James bashfully. "Why are you holding me while you work?""I believe it was you who refused to let me go," James mused, setting the document on the coffee table. He grabbed Beverly's arms and put them around his neck, bringing her closer. She grinned, her eyes sparkling even as she tried to avoid his gaze. "As if I'd keep holding onto you even after I dozed off. You're a shameless liar, James.""Why wouldn't you?" Dipping his head, James gripped her chin and forced her to meet his stare. "You're clinging to me right now."She glared at him and pointedly slid her hands down his shoulders, only for him to catch them. He lowered his head and brushed the tip of his nose against hers. She turned her head to the side. "That tickles!"Bringing his lips to her ears, he whispered, "After some thought, babe, I think I'd like to name our daughter Evelyn. What do you think?"Beverly met his gaze and beamed."No." She toyed with his shirt co

"That's not true." Beverly shrank away from James. "Okay, stop talking and take a look for yourself. Make it quick."James cupped her face and said in a voice that reminded her of the warm night breeze, "I'm not in a rush."He kissed her, and she kissed him back. A while later, she was still in a daze when she felt her pants slide down her legs, revealing the bruise on her flawless, alabaster skin.James regarded the bruise with a grave look on his face. "I'll go get a salve to help with blood circulation."Beverly clutched his hand immediately. "No, I can't use anything like that, or it might hurt the baby.""In that case, we'll ask the doctor for a pregnancy-friendly option," James pointed out."No need to go to all that trouble. It's not a big deal." Beverly sat upright and wrapped her arms around James' neck, her eyes sparkling as she lay in his arms. She reassured him sweetly, "It doesn't even hurt anymore.""No." James embraced her tightly, then let her go. "I'll call the

James gripped Beverly's wrist before she could open the door, a storm gathering in his eyes. He spoke slowly, his voice dropping as if he were cajoling a wild animal. "We will leave this pregnancy to fate. Just take the medication…"Beverly put an arm over her lower abdomen, fiercely protecting it as she gazed into James' sad eyes. Countless thoughts flickered through her head. He'd loved her for many years before she truly became a part of his world and married him. Would he move on and love someone else after her death? She doubted it.Beverly's voice softened too. "Honey, if I can safely give birth to Esther, I can do the same with this baby."Upon hearing this, James leaned back and reached out to caress her cheek. Just as she thought he would compromise, the car door opened.Evan materialized on the other side of the door, snaking an arm around Beverly to carry her out of the car."No! Honey, don't do this to me!" Beverly clutched James' arm desperately, meeting his stoic ga

Inside the room, Beverly gripped a scalpel in her bandaged hand, her only weapon as she stood off against Evan. She'd used so much force that her wound had ripped open, and blood seeped through the white bandage, trickling down her wrist. Before her was a laptop, its screen showing an ongoing call."Honey, take me home… I'll take the medication. I don't want this baby anymore…" Beverly's voice was soft, but it cracked with an oncoming sob. She sounded heartbreakingly devastated.Only shallow breathing could be heard on the other end of the line. James didn't answer."Bev, he won't come. He's put you in my care!" Evan seized his opportunity to interject. "Now be good and put the scalpel down…""No, he will come!" Beverly waved the scalpel around wildly. "James would never abandon me in your so-called care! He wouldn't treat me like some disposable accessory!"To James, she said, "Honey, I don't want the baby anymore! Please come and take me home."Beverly repeated this, only to h
