{Enzo POV}“Naomi,” I muttered, watching her closely. She looked away from me, tears sliding down her cheeks. I didn’t know what was going through her mind, but I wished I did. Maybe then, I would’ve known who had threatened her, who had made her climb that stage and speak with fear in her eyes. Whoever it was, they were going to pay.But how could I get her to tell me?I reached for her hand, and the moment my fingers brushed hers, she turned to me with anger and disgust written all over her face.“You have to be strong right now,” I said quietly, trying to keep my voice steady. “I know you’re hurting, I know that your mother's death is hurting you, but I need you to tell me who threatened you, Naomi. Who killed your mother?”My jaw tightened. She just stared at me for a while, her lips trembling before she turned her gaze away again. Her silence made my blood boil. Why was she protecting them? Did they threaten her into keeping quiet too?“It doesn’t matter, Enzo,” she cried out sud

{Enzo’s POV}My hands balled into fists as I stepped out of the hospital, walking fast toward the car parked in the lot. My chest rose and fell heavily, anger surging through me like fire in my veins. I didn’t even know what I would do if I saw Brian right now. But I knew one thing, I wouldn’t care about the rules my father set.How dare he threaten Naomi? How dare he kill her mother? Is this his way of getting back at me?The two men standing beside the car straightened when they saw me coming. One quickly opened the back door. I got in without saying a word, my jaw tight, my knuckles white against my thigh.“Take me to the mansion,” I said through clenched teeth. The car sped off immediately, but no matter how fast it went, it still felt too slow. Every second that passed only fueled my rage more.My phone started beeping, and I picked up without checking the caller ID.“Boss, Brian’s in his study,” Mateo said in a rush. “Leo just confirmed it.”“Okay, I’m on my way.”I ended the ca

{Naomi POV}"Naomi." Chloe’s voice echoed faintly in my head as I slowly began to regain consciousness. A sharp pain pierced through my skull, making me wince as I tried to move my hand, but I couldn’t.My wrists were tightly bound together. I twisted against the rope, the rough fibers biting into my skin, but it didn’t budge. Darkness surrounded me, and for a second, I thought I had gone blind, until I realized a thick bag was still pulled over my head. Chloe’s trembling voice called out again, faint but desperate. The memories rushed back, the hospital room, Chloe comforting me, the sound of footsteps and struggle outside the door, the door bursting open, and men in black swarming us. One of them had thrown a bag over my head, and before I could scream, something hard slammed against the back of my head. Everything had gone dark after that.“Chloe… are you there?” My voice was hoarse, weak. I shook my head, trying to loosen the bag, but it was tied too tightly against my face, makin

{Naomi POV}The phone ringing on the table got her attention, and the woman walked away, bringing it close to her ear. She glanced my way briefly before turning toward the door.I took a deep breath once she left, exhaling softly as I tried to yank my hand free. The rope burned against my wrist, digging deeper with every pull. After struggling for a while, frustration began to build, and my arm throbbed in pain.“What the hell is wrong with the woman?” I cursed under my breath, wincing as the rope scraped my skin. That was when I noticed Chloe hadn’t said a word. I turned my head toward her. She sat motionless in the dim light, her eyes empty, her face pale. Her chest rose and fell slowly, and she looked weaker than before.“Are you okay, Chloe?” I asked softly. She nodded faintly and brought her knees to her chest. Her voice came out in a whisper. “Naomi… do you think Enzo will come rescue us?” She didn’t look at me, her gaze was locked somewhere far away, lost in fear.I looked down

{Enzo POV}I watched as he went through the document with a smug smile. He still had the gun pressed close to Naomi’s head, and every second of it made my blood boil… but I kept my expression blank. I wasn’t ready to show my anger. Not when I already had everything planned out.“We have a deal, Brian,” I said calmly, swallowing the heat burning in my chest. “Now give me my wife and her friend.”Brian chuckled, looking at me like I was something he could sweep off the ground. “Well, I have nothing to do with her anymore.” He finally lowered the gun from Naomi’s head. The moment the metal left her skin, Naomi rushed toward me. I caught her instantly, wrapping her tightly in my arms. I kissed her forehead, feeling her tears warm against my neck.“You’re fine now, my love,” I whispered, rubbing her back slowly. “I’m here. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”“Enzo… I’m so sorry,” she muffled against my shoulder, her voice shaking.I patted her back lightly. “You did nothing wrong.”From the corn
