Chapter Eighty One

Shelly’s POVI still can't believe the amount of unrest caused by the Beta’s mate, Ariel. There are subtle whispers in the pack about her gut retching betrayal. For the first time in a long time the Octavius pack got hit so badly.“Penny for your thoughts.” Cheryl said from behind me and sat beside me on the grass.I smiled at her faintly and shook my head slightly. “How are you feeling? We haven't been seeing much of you since the happenings in the pack.”She stayed silent for some seconds staring at the beautiful sight of nature before us. “I needed time to absorb the happenings. So much has been happening in the pack. I also just discovered that it would seem like my history has been a lie.” Her last words wobbled slightly, making me stare and realize that tears were threatening to spill.“What is the matter, Cheryl?”“My mate, Byron is back and I don't know if he ever betrayed me or gave his life for me.”“We'll figure it all out.” I wrapped my arms around her in comfort. She held

Chapter Eighty Two

Mellisa's POVA feral growl rumbled in my chest, my wolf, Selena, had pushed forward. I gave Magnus' father, Alpha Byron a menacing look and rushed towards him, Magnus intercepted. He held me down a little bit. I shoved him so hard that he hit the wall and dented it. Adam rushed in and held me, in seconds Magnus was up holding me down once more.“You dare reject a mate bond. You have no idea the pain you've caused her. I hope you'll regret this foolish action.” My voice sounded very authoritative and firm.I hugged in irritation at his instant look of regret and walked out on all of them. I need to find Shelly, I understand the depth of her pain. She has never known love and her second chance at it just blew up.“Selena, help me find her.”I followed her scent and it took me to a part of the pack lands that was deserted. I could hear her painful whimpers. My heart hurt badly at the sound of it. I looked closely and found her in her wolf form curled close to a tree trunk.“Shelly?” I

Chapter Eighty Three

Adam’s POVThe entire place doesn't seem right, everything is slowly getting out of control. Aiden is still unconscious, Shelly was rejected and now I'm trying to find the issues with the betrayal of Mellisa's mother.I walked towards the forest so I can have space to think and clear my head. “Adam, we need you to come for the interrogation. A rogue was found trying to poison the water pipes.” Magnus said through the mindlink.“Where are you people?”“We are already at the doors of the dungeon. Everyone is here but you, please don't bring your betrothed to avoid any unnecessary drama.”He cut of the mindlink before I could utter a word. Diana has been a symbol of shame for me. Usually, Lunas are reversed and respected but mine has made people detest her presence.I sped towards the dungeons and arrived there in minutes.“Good evening, Alpha.” The two guards at the door of the dungeon greeted respectfully.I nodded at them and stepped inside, then followed their scent and found myself

Chapter Eighty Four

Cheryl’s POVThings haven't been the same around her since the last invasion. It's like it took a part of everyone here. Surprisingly, Shelly has been spending more time with me since her rejection. It keeps her far away from prying eyes.“Can I help cook today? It would definitely help me release some tension.” Shelly asked me from the dining room, I was knitting in the sitting room.I heaved a sigh and dropped what I was doing. “How's your wolf, Medusa?”Her shoulder slumped slightly. “Since after the incidence, she has gone mute. I know she took the pain away because the stabbing pain in my heart has drastically reduced.”“You shouldn't continue like this, it might kill her.”“I don't know what to do, the loss of our second chance mate took a deeper toll on her than the last.”A loud knock interrupted our discussion. “Are you expecting anyone?” Shelly asked in confusion.“Not at all, but we can't keep them waiting outside. Go open the door.”She stood up and headed towards the door

Chapter Eighty Five

Mellisa's POVA sharp gasp escaped my lips at the sight before me. Shelly was lip locked with Magnus' father. I guess things between them aren't as bad as I thought.Just like something possessed Shelly she forcefully pushed herself off him and gave him a hard slap on the face. I guess I spoke about things not being that bad too early. She then wiped her lips in disgust. “How dare you? After the humiliation, you think you'd just walk her and do this?”He held his face, I saw blood lined his lips but the look on his face made my concern dissipate. “I'm so sorry, love. I have no excuse for the pain I caused you.”Shelly furrowed her face in confusion. “Wait, what?”“I'm sorry, will you be able to forgive me?”Someone behind them cleared their throat and now that unpaid attention to it, it's Cheryl. “I'm glad you guys made up. But you'd have to pay tax for making out. How much will you pay me, Alpha?”“Anything you want, Cheryl. As long as I get to taste those lips again.”“I'm right her

Chapter Eighty Six

Unknown POV“They're getting close, too close for comfort.” I growled at my Beta.“We need to get them off our backs.” He answered as we both walked towards the cells.“You haven't come to see Joey since the beating you gave him.” My annoying mate barged into my office with a look of defiance on her face.I growled at her constant disrespect. “How dare you! Get out right now.”“He healed just fine, you think this is all? You caused my son pain for not being a monster like you.”“You dare to challenge me?”“You're nothing but a little insignificant thing in my life. I'm done using you, you know. You've given birth to strong pups for me, you're of no use to me anymore.”She looked at me with tears streaming down her face, took a turn and walked out briskly from the office.“Alpha, I don't think that it is right to treat her that way.” My Beta said without looking me in the eyes.I scoffed at his guts to question my behaviour. “She is mine to do with as I please not yours, so mind your b

Chapter Eighty Seven

Shelly's POV Medusa, my wolf danced around my head in glee at the recent development in my relationship with Alpha Byron. I know that he is trying to get us to work out but I just find it so hard to let go of his earlier rejection. The birds chirped around me. I sat in the little garden that Cheryl had made not far from the cottage. The light is back to her eyes.“Why are you giving him a hard time?” Medusa asked all of a sudden.“I think Dawson has broken me to pieces and I can't seem to wrap my head around all these. The pain I felt that day he pushed us away was too much.”“I know but we can't dwell in the past. There's so much to experience ahead. We haven't had love for too long, not even from our own parents. I wonder how much they'd hate us right now because we were the downfall of their golden girl.”“I wish they just loved me a little. Even if they preferred Claire, I wish they loved me just a little of how much they loved her.”Medusa rolls her eyes at the back of my head.

Chapter Eighty Eight

Adam's POV The walls seem to be closing in on me. Diana is putting more pressure as the days go by because she wants the mating ceremony to happen.I stared at the bright morning sun, I had come out for a quick run in my wolf form and needed some space alone. “Adam?” Noah, said behind me. I barely sensed him at all. I think I'm beginning to lose my senses because for a while now I'm unable to sense my Beta until he makes his presence known.“Yes.”He sat right next to me on the bare floor and looked straight ahead. “What's wrong?”“Nothing, why ask?”“You've been acting so differently these days. You're almost detached from us. Are you okay?”“Yes, I'm fine. I just have a lot on my shoulders and it's taking a toll on me.”“I'm your Beta, you should not take all the burden of the pack members on your shoulders. I'll gladly steal where necessary.”“What do you think about me officially making your sister my mate?”“What do you mean?”“I'm just curious about it, I want to hear your tho

Chapter Eighty Nine

Aiden's POVToday was the first day that I was getting out of the infirmary since I had gained consciousness. Dr. Freda looked really pleased after the last row of checks.“You seem to have greatly improved. Your friends are all almost here.” She had a smile on her face.“What about my father?” She heaved a sigh. “He is in a bad condition and needs proper medication. For now, I placed him in the Intensive Care Unit. He needs ample time to heal from both physical and mental wounds.”My chest constricted at the revelation. It was too much to take. My own mate wanted to end both of my parents. She successfully killed my Mom.“Don't think too much, please. He isn't deteriorating but just needs time to recuperate.”“Can I see him?”“Not for now at least. You need time to heal yourself. You may think that you're okay but you're not.”“What do you mean by that?”“You need proper counselling, Aiden. I wish we had one in the pack but we don't. I will speak with Alpha Mellisa to talk to Alpha

Chapter Ninety

Mellisa's POV We all sat keenly to listen to what my father had to say. I held Gift to myself and he got distracted playing with my hair.“We always sent your parents on errands since when we were Alpha and Luna. They were very good at slipping into places most won't be able to. I think we were able to find something.”“What could that be?” Fred asked curiously with popcorn in his hands.“The old blood of the royals is back.” “Isn't that Melissa?” Aiden looked confused as did we all.“No, she is the original bloodline but I mean the bloodline of Morbuis.”“I thought they got wiped off history?”“That's what they made us believe. Based on their findings these things have been planned for over three centuries.”“How didn't anyone notice?”“It was done very subtly not like now that it's in our faces. They burned the history of Miri and made sure we almost forgot the Powerful lineage of white wolves. They had to be living in hiding. I'm still trying to find which Alpha in particular, I
