Talia’s POV I paced the room restlessly, my heart hammering in my throat. Fear gnawed at me, fear for Cassian, for the pack, for the storm I could feel coming. I wanted to tell him, to spill every part of me, to express how much I loved him, but he had been gone before the words even formed. I sighed, frustration burning through me. Time blurred. Then, a loud commotion downstairs tore through the quiet. My body went taut. I should stay. I should obey. But the need to know, to see him, was stronger. I ran to the front door. Cassian stood across from me, his body rigid, hands clenched, eyes blazing with anger that could scorch the forest.
