Claire When Andy pulled into the small parking lot at the back of Irish Ink, Adrian's car was the first one I noticed. I hadn't seen or spoken to him after finding out about his past. Would he be angry with Andy for exposing his dark history to me? It's now obvious that Adrian doesn't want this shared around; otherwise, he would have told Jupiter and me, himself, at the soccer game last week. My next dilemma was how to act around him now. The abuse that he endured from his mother was cruel; it's going to be at the forefront of my mind every time I look at him, but I don't want to shower him in pity, not when he's made so much effort to turn his life around. On the other hand, though, I don't want him to think I don't care or acknowledge what he's been through; he's a survivor, breaking free from the chains that imprisoned him for years, which should be celebrated. "How should I treat Adrian? Now that I know the truth?" I ask Andy when we're standing outside the studio, my nerves tak

AndyClaire was sitting alone at our table when I arrived at school, her head down as she read the novel we'd been assigned for English. A few tables away from ours, I spot Jupiter, sitting with Seb and the rest of the year 12 soccer players, and I can't help but notice how often Jupiter's head turns around to spy on Claire before quickly twisting back so as to not be caught by Sebastian.I felt bad for Jupiter when she was drugged, I still do, but her behaviour towards Claire is nothing short of cruel and bordering on pathetic. She obviously wants to come talk to Claire, but is allowing Sebastian to get inside her head and convince her that Claire is now the enemy."Morning, cupcake." I greet my girlfriend, pressing my lips against hers for a sweet but chaste kiss. "You realise you're being watched by Jupiter, right?""I know." Claire giggles and rolls her eyes. "I'm pretending to take no notice, though, if Jupiter wants to play the submissive role and allow her boyfriend to dictate

ClaireMy dad makes the most delicious meatballs. He was given the recipe from his grandmother in her final days, and whenever he's thinking of her, he cooks up a whole big batch. As soon as I came through the door this afternoon, I could smell the aroma of rosemary and garlic wafting from the kitchen, and my stomach growled in anticipation.I went upstairs to get changed out of my school clothes but decided to sit in the living room to do my homework, not wanting to wander too far from the kitchen, just in case Dad needed someone to do a taste test. I open my binder and begin writing a practice essay based on the theme of satire, which we'd been studying this semester, using one of the past exam questions as a reference. My teachers have always said my execution of an essay is great, but I struggle to think fast under pressure, getting caught up in how to convey the body of the essay and end up losing time, which is why these practice attempts are crucial for me, coming into exams. AndyThere's something almost euphoric about the last day of school before we go on a two week break, the serenity of knowing I won't have to set my alarm on Sunday night, that I can take my sweet time completing homework and assignments because I won't have teachers, breathing down my neck, pressuring me to get the work done, the freedom to go anywhere or simply just lie in bed all day if I want. Two whole weeks away from this hellhole. What I was looking forward to the most was having endless days with Claire, right now we're restricted to how much time we can spend together because of school and study. Both her parents and mine won't allow school-night sleepovers, claiming we will be distracted from our school work. 14 days of kissing Claire, dates with Claire, sex with Claire, snuggling with Claire, hot, passionate sex with Claire, cute romantic moments with Claire, sneaking off to fuck Claire, this is what I want my holidays to be. I'm a teenage boy with a one-track mind, and it

Claire I had absolutely no desire to go camping; it was going to be muddy, cold and boring. We only get two weeks off for Easter break, and my parents were stealing one from me. This is cruelty, forcing your children to give up their precious holiday time to dump them in a bug-infested tent for a week and expecting them to be happy about it is just mean. I don't care that it's some family tradition that my mother and aunt did when they were teenagers, because I'm willing to bet that they hated it back then, too. I'll admit, I never really cared about having to go camping before, but this year I have a very good reason for wanting to not go, and my mother was being completely unreasonable in ignoring my request to stay home. Doesn't she realise that an entire week away from Andy was going to kill me? Not to mention that there will be no way to contact him either because the stupid camping site was out in the middle of East Jesus, nowhere. I don't understand how anyone can survive with
