THORA'S POVEverywhere is calm. The tension has grown bigger than it used to.The same report that seemed to stare in my eyes now look like a bigger document containing deeper secrets. The list of the executives board names were arraigned and Luke kept lookin by them and trying to mark out the least suspected.“You look disturbed by the call previously…” I uttered as I moved closer to him.I couldn't help but notice how divided his mind was.A part of it showed worry and another showed concern. After all, this might just be going in a direction no actually saw coming…“Its just the lawyers calling. Quentin was caught violating some restrictions rules in there and the authorities don't want to take it so lightly with him..” he explained.I chuckled on the inside….”That’s deserving…” but the expression on Luke's face says completely otherwise. So I replied with the most innocent response I could think of, “Hmmmm…”I was about to say more when Mara's heavy sigh c)aaed both our attention

THORA'S POVQuietness. It's been a while since I had such. It was as though the world had suddenly got quiet and everyone was exhausted. It's been three days since we all heard from Mara..Quentin doesn't seem to place any call anymore like he had given up or something. Luke, on the other hand, seem to always be in a rush each time we make contact.Maybe this would just have to be it till the next court hearing and the noise could begin once more.My innocent Avis came up and sat beside me gently. Her eyes burrowed into mine like she was seeing something I couldn't.“Are you fine, mommy?” Her voice came to my ears, softly and sonorously like I hadn't heard her voice in a while.“Mommy is okay, Avis. You have absolutely nothing to worry about,” I answered with a soft pat on her head as I pulled her close and gently for a side hug.My eyes kept swerving back to my phone like a call was supposed to come in but there wasn't….I didn't want to reach out. No one was also calling so why forc

LUKE'S POVThe look on Quentin's face was one hell of a surprise.I could see the utter shock and surprise as he read through those letters in his hands.I was hoping for the opposite. By them, I would assume he had known about it and was just pretending. However, I was the one who got shocked also, he kept exclaiming at every sentence he read through. Those were my late father's old letters. They were handwritten to my mother and it was about the inheritance.“Hold on, a minute…this changes everything, you know??” Quentin lashed out.“This ultimately turns everything around, Luke. Is this for real?” He asked again, turning the letters upside down like he was expecting the ink to fall off or something.“You don't want to know who is behind all of this….” I interrupted his moment.“Don't tell me its mother,” he vented.“I doubt she even got these letters. She doesn't know, man,” I answered with a hint of certainty in my voice.“So who then?”“It's Uncle ... .Uncle Charles….he knew abou

THORA'S POVNow I have developed moods. And it switches every single hour. It was as though I had multiple personalities battling for control. This has nothing to do with the case or what is happening with love life.It was the hormones, the doctor said. I was seven and half months into and now my hormones are just all over the place. My belly had become bigger but thanks to maternity gowns, I had been able to cover up nicely without drawing so much attention to myself.I sat right outside the house, my phone in my hands, and my mind drifting back and forth.“How did I get myself into this in the first place?”“Should I blame love or random fate?”I had a lot of things going on in my head. I have a child for Quentin and now I am about to have another for Luke. Was I going to be shared amongst the two brothers or what exactly is going to happen to me?One is in prison, building up stories and accusations that are worsening the circumstances of my life, the other is out, trying to fight

QUENTIN'S POVWhy am I finding this hard to believe?Uncle Charles can't be behind this. He has been with me all my life. His support was like no other. Sometimes, he would make me feel like he is filling up the place of my late father. But that is only right of him to do. He was the closest I have to family.I wouldn't have been able to run Palmer Holdings smoothly without his help.“It just can't be. Uncle Charles isn't the one they are looking for. Maybe this is all a setup and Luke is just so blind to see it..”But the letters tell a different story. He possibly knows something I don't know.“Coukd the letters be fake? Oh No, that's not possible. That is Dad's handwriting.”“Luke couldn't do such just to make me turn against Uncle Charles…”I sat and drifted into thinking.I still remember those days like it was yesterday.Bringing Uncle Charles into the board was something I was excited to have announced.“I’m making you a signatory to the other account, Uncle Charles. You have
