Chapter 21

Evangeline's POVI know what I did is rude because Maximus is still the pack's Alpha, but I have to leave. If I stay longer, I know something will happen.I might say hurtful words, or I might forget that he's still one of those men who brought me pain. And to avoid any of that to happen, leaving away is the only option. I don't care what he will think about me.“Evan!”Maximus tried to stop me, but I immediately locked my room's door before he could stop me. He doesn't have a choice, but to stop on his track.“Evan…”I gritted my teeth when I heard him outside my door. I thought he would leave after I slammed the door shut, but I was wrong. Maximus stayed, and now he's trying to talk to me from outside.“I know you're still mad at me, and I totally get it. Winning your heart might be struggling for me, but I just wanted to let you know that I will not stop. I will work hard, until I get your heart back again…”These are the words Maximus had told me about. I never responded to him. I

Chapter 22

Evangeline's POVMy eyes never leave those men in front of me. They still continued talking as if I never understood what they were saying.“David,” I mentioned my best friend's name. “I don't like how they talked right now.”David chuckled, moving closer to me.“Hey, don't worry. They are just like that,” David responded. At this moment, I turned my head at him, while furrowing my brows.“Be honest with me, David. How long have you been friends with them? These girls are not your relatives, are you?”As I muttered these words at David, his expression showed a shock reaction. I know he never expected that I would be able to find out about it, and I don't know either.I don't know how I learned about it. Maybe I'm just good at reading people, especially when I feel something is not right about them. This might be the reason.“I wasn't expecting you to know about it, Evan. But yes, they are just my friends. I apologize if I lied to you. I know you won't come if you learned that I was wi

Chapter 23

Evangeline's POVI turned my head to where the broken glass came from, and then I found Maximus. He was already standing near me, his expression couldn't be explained.“I feel so hot, Maximus. I need to remove all my clothes.”He nodded his head, his Adam's apple moved as a hint that he swallowed his saliva. Seeing that, I couldn't stop myself from smirking. The effect of the drug is still circling around my body, and when I saw Maximus, I just felt it worsened. This time, I rose up from the bed, my body covered with nothing. Maximus was stunned in his direction, his eyes moving from downward and upwards.“You want my body, Maximus?” I teased, while stepping my feet in his direction. Maximus didn't say anything. He just stayed in his direction, his eyes never leaving me.“Evan, you are affected by what you drink. You are not to yourself. Come on, the water in the bathroom is now ready.” This response from Maximus made me chuckle. I opened my arms, showing my whole body to him. His

Chapter 24

Evangeline's POV“Oh, Maximus…”I let out a soft and sexy moan, the moment Maximus has successfully entered his manhood inside me. My body's hot temperature increased, making me grasp the sheet of the bed.“Tell me if you want to stop,” Maximus' hot breath touched my ear as he whispered these words. But instead of listening, I found myself being drawn to that. His hot breath turned me on.Shaking my head, I replied, “I want you… not to stop.”Maximus chuckled a bit, while moving his hips upward and backward. As he did that, my mouth widened in pleasure. His movement is gentle at first, but as time passes, and when we start to feel our body wanting more, he starts moving so fast.“Evan…”Even Maximus couldn't stop himself from moaning in pleasure. And I have never expected that I would give myself to Maximus tonight. I never expected that because of that f*cking drink, my life will change now. My ex-mate had the chance to touch me. But I was aware of what I did now.I'm not drunk. I'm

Chapter 25

Evangeline's POVI went straight to my uncle's house after I left the club. When I reached the house, Uncle Raven wasn't there. I felt relieved because I know he will interrogate me for not going back last night. And the first thing I did was to take a quick shower, hoping that I would flush out all the traces of Maximus on my body. But the pleasure we shared last night doesn't leave my mind. It's difficult to move on, making me distracted the whole day.“Evan.”I lifted my head when I heard that familiar voice. My eyes just darkened when I found out who was in front of me.It was David, and he's worried when he looked at me.“Can we talk?”I furrowed my brows from what he said. David's expression made me focus my attention on him. We are at the field, while watching the warriors being trained. I was sitting on the bench, having my deep thoughts when David had finally decided to approach me. And I know it has something to do with last night.“What do you want to talk about, David?” I

Chapter 26

Evangeline's POVI tilted my head from what Reagan had mentioned to me. His friends behind him laugh, mocking me. I gritted my teeth, while my fists clenched in annoyance. This man is arrogant. He was just a beta, and most of all, this pack doesn't belong to them. Reagan has to know his place before I get pissed, and teach him a lesson.“I didn't give you permission to introduce yourself to me, Reagan,” I replied, my tone is as cold as ice.Reagan's expression darkened with my response. He lifted his head, eyes never leaving mine. On the other hand, I never hesitated to meet his gaze. I won't let him think that I am afraid of him because I'm not. I fear no one.“What did you just call me? Reagan?”I smirked, my arms crossed with what the asshole said. The annoyance from his face seems obvious now and it cannot be hidden.“Why? Do you have other names aside from Reagan? Just let me know, and I will call you that.”Reagan sneered, his eyes covered by darkness now as he looked at me. I c

Chapter 27

Drake's POVAlmost a month had already passed, when my legal wife disappeared into thin air. But until now, I was still thinking about her.I couldn't stop myself from thinking about her, especially the pain I gave her. I know how painful that was, and I will never forgive myself for hurting her so bad.“Alpha Drake.”I grasped the wine glass that I was holding when I heard my beta speak. He just entered my office, and now he's back after I gave him a mission.“What information do you have now, Beta?” I murmured, without looking at him.“It's confirmed. Luna Evan is at Alpha Maximus’ pack.” My heart skipped from beating upon hearing this. I know I've already had the information about Evan's whereabouts and I even contacted Alpha Maximus, but I need assurance. I need to make sure that she was really there.“I got a picture of her from afar. Although it's just taken away from her, the image is clear. It's Luna Evan.” I turned my head at my beta when he suddenly mentioned a photo. My b

Chapter 28

Drake's POV“No. I don't want to!”Adeline firmly refused. She was shaking her head, showing me how she disagreed with what I had said. Seeing that, I couldn't help but shake my head as well.“Let's end this, Adeline. It was Evangeline that I love now. Can't you understand that?”Tears kept streaming down to Adeline's face. I couldn't see the color of her eyes now as it was already covered by her tears. Seeing her situation now made me disheartened. If I'm just loyal to my wife, Adeline's life will not be ruined. Her relationship towards Evan will not be shattered. I know that this is all my fault. I played with the siblings' hearts.“You can't leave me just like that, Drake. As far I remember, you've chosen me over Evan. You broke up with her to stay beside me. I know you loved me. I know that this is just your way to make me spend my whole time with you!”Adeline hugged my legs, which made me let out a deep and heavy sigh. My head tilted above the sky, while hands already turned in

Chapter 29

Evangeline's POV“Evan, are you alright?”I turned my head at David. His worried face met my eyes. I just looked at him, and then sigh.“I'm alright, David. Thank you for your concern.”Hearing this, David smiled at me, although his eyes were still covered with worries. And when he's about to open his mouth to speak again, Uncle Raven suddenly interrupted.“Evan, are you sure you're not really hurt?”A smile formed on my lips as I looked at my uncle. He's so worried about me now and to remove it, I have to show him that I am just alright. My lips still curled into a smile, but when my eyes laid to Maximus, it immediately disappeared.“Don't worry about them, Evan. I will handle these assholes. And they really think they can threaten our pack. As if I will let that happen.” Maximus gritted his teeth as he spoke these words to me. My arms just crossed, meeting his gaze. “You know, even if you never came on time, I am still going to teach them a lesson.” I muttered, in my cold tone.

Chapter 30

Evangeline's POVMaximus’ lips curled, forming into a bright smile. I could feel my mouth widened, while meeting his gaze. The amusement from his face as he looked at me seemed so obvious now.And watching that made my heart wrenched in annoyance. I just don't like Maximus smiling at me. I don't like him treating me like nothing happened in the past.“Stop fooling around, Alpha Maximus. We all know that this is just part of your act. Stop acting like you're really serious,” I muttered, shaking my head off.Maximus stared at me in his sincere look. He lets out a sigh, and then speaks.“Because I was. I am serious with what I'm showing to you now. I won't fake it, not what I feel to you, Evan,” Maximus responded. As I heard these words from him, my hands clenched into fists. I could already feel my eyes starting to darken, staring at him seriously.Maximus looks sincere right now. I am good at reading someone's expression, and I was expecting to see a hint of Maximus’ real intention, wh
