Days had passed by, and it felt like a blur.Just when I thought things would be peaceful now in the camp, news traveled fast that Redmund and Lilith were now officially engaged. They were celebrating it in the troops' dining hall, and many of their colleagues were congratulating them while I was at a distance, watching them being happy together."I cannot believe there will be another engagement party happening soon!" It was Cerys, clasping her hands together as she looked in their way. We were dining together along with my former colleagues as I promised to them that I would visit them every Friday. "Oh, to be romantically in love with someone... I envy them, Ms. Euphyllia. I want to meet my mate..." She fluttered her eyelids at me.I almost smiled bitterly at her statement. Even though I had braced myself for it since I saw Lilith on that day that she was wearing a ring, the confirmation still carved a hollow ache in my chest.I told myself that I shouldn't care. I told myself that

The next day, Lucretius was already fine as if the fever hadn't affected him the day before. His expression was unreadable, his royal military uniform was crisp, exuding the frightening authority of a commander as he had always been.I almost questioned if I was imagining him shivering, how he was being stubborn to take his medicine and eat the food, and how he caressed my waist as he fell asleep on me. But seeing how he was dependent on me despite being tenacious, I knew that it was real.Since Lucretius was absent yesterday, he got piled up with workloads while attending some strategic meetings to know the situation in the Auritaurie. Marlin was present, too, to provide the updates we received from our intel.Since I wasn't allowed to be there, all I could do was to inspect the troops along with Leofrick. While he had summoned a few doctors to check the vitals of the squadrons, it didn't escape me that I was able to meet Lilith in the female's tent. But all I did was ignore her and

And just like that, Lucretius dragged me to the nearest divine temple the very next day... and we got married. I still couldn't wrap my head around it. One moment, Lucretius planned to introduce me as his fiancée at his birthday party and had an engagement party a few days later, and now... There was a change of plans.I was now Euphyllia Ivara Ruinart-Franciosa, wife of Lucretius Xior Franciosa. My fingers still tingled from where Lucretius had slid the wedding band onto my left hand. My eyes even settled on the ring itself, which had a heavy presence of history and expectation. This ring wasn't just any bad. It was a family heirloom of the House of Franciosa that only the true Luna of the Golden Eclipse Pack was ever permitted to wear. The metal itself was forged of pure white gold, and its surface was etched with intricate eclipse patterns, that was matched on my ivory porcelain skin. At its center, there was a deep amber gemstone, looking rare and luminous, that looked like the

He sneaked in under the sheets and wrapped his arm around my waist before drawing my body close to his. "Are you about to sleep without me, wifey?" he asked huskily."Lucretius..." My heart was pounding right now because of the closeness of our bodies together, while his hand was massaging my hips, my sensitive bud was tingling as I felt the heat of his palm penetrating my silk nightdress. "W-Why are you here?" I whispered, forcing myself to turn to him. I stifled a gasp as I felt his bare skin against mine, his hardness pressing against my stomach.Under the dim light, I caught him smirking before he grabbed me back by forcing my back to lean against him in a spooning position. His face leaned closer to my neck and breathed on it, making my body shiver."To be with my wife, of course," he murmured, nibbling my skin. "It's our first night... did you think I would let it pass by?"I immediately closed my eyes when he licked the slenderness of my neck, making me bite my lower lip."But.

I met Joaquin in the hallway when I was on my way to Lucretius' study room. He paused mid-step, bowed his head toward me, and then continued walking in the opposite direction.I blinked, unable to process the sign of respect he showed. He might not greet me, but the level of aspect of greeting by action was enough for me that Joaquin was recognizing me as their Luna. And that was insane. I didn't deserve to become a Luna in one of the wealthiest packs. Never had I imagined myself to dream something big like this, but here I was. I would be performing the Luna ceremony soon.My mind was wandering about that thought until I snapped back when I reached Lucretius' study room. For an instant, my heart was pounding so loud when my knuckles hit the mahogany door. I counted three before heaving out a sigh. "Commander, it's me." My hands felt clammy when I extended my hand to the doorknob because I knew that once I got inside, my relationship with Lucretius wasn't just commander and assistant
