Semua Bab We shouldn’t be doing this, Step-brother: Bab 181 - Bab 190

Sienna I barely slept. Even after the call with Jaxon, even after he asked that question that turned my stomach upside down—“Would you love to see me when I come down?”I said nothing.I ended the call pretending my battery died. And since then, his words kept replaying like an echo that refused to leave my head.By the time morning came, my stomach was tight, my head was heavy, and everything in between felt like it was shaking.Mom dropped me at school again, the same way she had for the past week, with that careful tone like I was made of thin glass.“Do you want me to pick you up or should Kendra drop you off?” she asked.“I’ll text you,” I said, lying.I wasn’t even sure where I’d be by evening. It was a slow day at school.Everyone still stared, but at least nobody approached me. I stayed glued to Kendra, who kept her arm looped through mine like she was anchoring me to the world.“You look stressed,” she whispered during math class.“I am.”“Because of the video?”“Because of

SiennaI woke up with that weird mix of fear and adrenaline sitting heavy in my chest. The kind that makes your heart beat a little too fast even before your eyes fully open. My mum was already awake — I could hear the soft zip of a bag and the clink of something being folded neatly in the living room. She was packing. Not rushing… just moving like someone who had made up her mind.Today was the day we were going to the lake house.I sat up slowly, rubbed my eyes, and the moment I grabbed my phone from under my pillow, it vibrated.A message from Jaxon. He sent it thirty minutes ago.Jaxon:I got here very early this morning. Something’s off. I don’t think my mum is alone here.My breath left my body so fast I almost choked.“Alone how?” I whispered to my phone even though no one could hear me.I dialed him instantly — it rang once, twice… then went straight to voicemail.“No, no, no,” I muttered, tapping my screen again, but the call failed this time. Before I could spiral too far, m

SiennaMy mum didn’t need another warning. The moment she heard the fear in my voice, she pressed her foot down on the accelerator. The road blurred past us, trees melting into streaks of green and brown. I kept glancing at the mirror, praying the black car would disappear. It didn’t.It followed. My heartbeat felt like someone was banging on my chest from the inside.Just when the lake house roof came into view between the trees, my phone buzzed so violently it almost fell from my hand.Jaxon:Police are here. Keep driving. They’re behind him. Don’t stop.I turned fully in my seat. And that was when I saw them. The second car — the police car — speeding in behind Tyler’s. Sirens off, but lights flashing faintly like a warning. My breath left my body in one shaky exhale.“He’s being followed,” I whispered. “The police are behind him.”My mum muttered a prayer and sped through the open gate of the lake house. Gravel cracked under the tires as we pulled up in front of the wooden porch.

SiennaThe old floorboard by the window creaked, the one I’d been staring at for what felt like hours. My heart, already thumping a frantic rhythm against my ribs, leapt into my throat. That wasn’t me. The house had been silent for a while like a tomb holding the slumbering forms of my mother, my stepmother, and her twin sister. Everyone was in their own rooms, doors shut. Everyone except…My doorknob turned with a whisper-soft click.I held my breath, the sheet clutched tight under my chin. The door edged open, a sliver of shadow darker than the rest of the moonlit room, and then he slipped inside, closing it with the same infinite care.Jaxon.He was just a silhouette for a moment, broad-shouldered and lean, before my eyes adjusted. He wore only a pair of low-slung sleep pants, and the moonlight carved the definition of his chest and abdomen into sharp relief.“You’re awake,” he murmured, his voice a low, gravelly sound that vibrated straight through me.“I was starting to think yo

SiennaThe moment my mum walked out to call my dad, my stomach dropped.I stayed on my bed for a second, hugging my pillow, breathing in and out like someone preparing for an exam they didn’t study for. Then I grabbed my phone and texted Jaxon. My fingers shook as I typed.Sienna:My dad is coming over. Mum said it’s important. I’m scared. He replied almost immediately.Jaxon:Do you want me to come? I can drive down. I’ll explain to him. I’ll tell him everything.I closed my eyes, imagining him standing beside me—warm, stubborn, protective. But this was something I had to face alone.Sienna:No… not now. I’ll be okay. I’ll text you after.A long pause. Then:Jaxon:I’m right here, okay? Whatever happens.A call away. Don’t let him make you feel small. My throat tightened.Sienna:I won’t. I promise.Few hrs later, my dad arrived. I heard the sound of his car as he drove into the compound. Then I heard his knock on the front door from my room. Then the sound of the door opening.Murmu
