The car pulled up into the airport, and Asher practically dragged Lily out of the car."You can't do this! This is a form of kidnapping, I can report you!" She whined as she struggled to get out of Asher's hold, but he wasn't budging. "Stop it! I can't travel, I told you I have a job to report to on Monday and I have no bag to travel to Paris with!" This time, she was practically screaming at the top of her lungs while trying to free herself.Asher paid no heed to her screams and yells, and he only let go of her after he had successfully dragged her into the private jet. "What were you saying earlier?" He asked, forcing her down into her chair and buckling her in, "that this is kidnapped?" He chuckled, and whipped out the phone, "should I get the FBI on the line for you? You can tell them a drug lord has kidnapped you." Lily shot daggers at with him with her eyes at his comment, and all he did in response was smirk before making himself comfortable on one of the chairs. "I'm glad you

Lily and Asher went to another restaurant and had their breakfast there, and Lily took that opportunity to tell Asher everything she had discussed with Mrs Darby, Gloria.A big smile stretched across Asher's face at the news, and he wanted to tell her how proud he was of her. Instead, he cleared his throat and raised his glass of juice, "Congratulations on securing such a deal. It's one that doesn't come easy." The grin on Lily's face widened, and she raised her glass as well. They both clinked it together, before taking a sip and setting it down. "Also, thank you very much for securing an invite to that dinner party. It'll give me an opportunity to finalize the deal with Mr Darby, we already went over some of the important details earlier this morning. I was misinformed about him rejecting the deal."The worry that had been unconsciously etched on Lily's heart about the dinner party disappeared with his words. Asher wasn't one to attend such events, and all these while she's been mar

"I simply just don't understand why we have to leave the house before the dinner party, which is in..." Lily peered behind Asher to get a good luck on the wall clock behind him, "11 hours! That's a long time, Asher, and I am not leaving my bed before the appointed time."Asher sighed heavily and massaged his temples. He already had his bath and was dressed in a pair of joggers and a loose T-shirt, and for the past 10 minutes, he'd been trying to get Lily out of the bed to bath and get dressed because they have a long day ahead of them, yet... She wasn't budging. "If you don't get up in the next 30 seconds, Lily, I am going to carry you into the bathroom and lock you in there."Her eyes widened, and she sat up on the bed. "No need to be a caveman, Mr Allard. We can talk civilly. All I'm asking is that you tell me why you want me to bath and leave this gorgeous room and bed, when our event is in 11 hours."Deciding to not fight a loosing battle, Asher decided to give her a rundown of th

The breath was knocked out of Asher once he set eyes on Lily. He had only seen her dressed up like this twice during the course of their marriage, one was at their wedding and the other at his company's anniversary dinner, but on both occasions he barely paid any attention to her and now he couldn't help the feeling of regret of having missed seeing her like this twice! The red gown complimented her body, and brought out her amber eyes. His eyes ran over her body once again, and an involuntary growl escaped his lips. She looked good, and he knew it, but he also knew he wasn't the only one that had eyes. Other men do, and they will be at the dinner party. For a split second, he considered skipping the party just so he'd be the only one to see her in such a state.Lily fidgeted uncomfortably under Asher's dark gaze. When she saw herself in the mirror earlier, she knew she looked good, but the way he was staring at her got her heart beating, but at the same time it made her question her

Asher immediately tensed up when he heard a familiar voice screaming and whimpering. His mind immediately pictured the worst of things happening to Lily, and without excusing himself, he walked out of his discussion with Mr Darby, and stormed off towards the direction of the voice. A mix of emotions coursed through him when he set eyes on a family red dress, and he immediately quickened his pace when he noticed the dress was torn, but when the face wearing it came into the picture, his steps slowly reduced but that didn't stop Charlotte from dramatically flinging herself into his arms. She whispered into his chest, clutching tightly onto him. "She hit me! She hit me, Asher! Ju-just..." She stopped mid-sentence and let out a cry when Lily slowly walked into the frame, her face contorted in a frown, and her eyes wide with worry.Once Lily took notice of Charlotte firmly wrapped in Asher's embrace, her heart dropped to her stomach. There was no way he'd believe her over Charlotte, and
