Chpater 010: Golden threadsThe cabin was silent.Jaime continued to pace round the cabin in search of the golden boy that had disappeared without a trace.his boots hitting the wooden cabin, continued to echo through the cabin, as he searched under his bed, behind doors, in the kitchen, even going outside near the roods but nothing.Jamie angrily shoved the pantry door open with his trembling fingers for the third time. Maybe he hid there. "Shit," he cursed, staring at the empty cabin.“Where the fuck, did you go?”“Find him, find our mate” His newly awakened wolf clawed at his insides, agitating him further. The room suddenly felt cold and even more lonely. A hollow ache beginning to bloom in his chest area. He paused, trying to calm and even breathing. His eyes darted round the cabin as if he wanted to find out something new. He let himself feel…Ever since his wolf awakened, he had noticed that his senses were now sharper and he could make out an even more distinct coloured thre

Faceless Shadows(In a dream)The air was cold and alone in the dark, filled with chilling air. It's not the type of air that blows during the winter season. No, this cold contains a sterile, metallic feeling to it. Jamie could feel it coming from the strange steel he was lying on.He opened his eyes slowly, squinting at first before his eyes got used to the fluorescent bulb above him, which continued to illuminate the whole room in a soft light. Jamie could see strange tubes and wires connected him to strange and weird machines that continued to beep in the corners, and the floor kept on vibrating with a slightly distant hum.“Where am i?” Jamie spoke out aloud, but no one except the echoes of his voice rebounding round the room answered him.He tried to move but saw that his wrists were tightly bound and chained to the unknown steel beside him, together with his legs. His limbs screamed with fatigue and tiredness. The stench of thick antiseptic hung thick in the air. He gasped as st

Chapter 014 The New StudentTheir walk to school felt like walking through a field of landmines, where any slight misstep could result in an explosion.Damon and Kris followed them the entire way, making silly comments that made Jaime's fists clench tight. He wanted so badly to turn around and punch Damon in his smug face, but he couldn't. Not with Aliyah to protect.Jaime held himself back from reacting to their words. He kept his eyes forward, his jaw tight, and tried to ignore the poison dripping from Damon's mouth."She's pretty," Damon said, moving closer to get a better look at Aliyah. His voice was loud enough for everyone on the street to hear. "Too pretty for trash like you, Jaime. She deserves someone better. And guess what? I'm better than you in every way. So... pretty girl, why don't you ditch this loser and walk with me instead?"Aliyah stayed pressed against Jaime's side, head down, playing the part of a shy, mute girl perfectly. But Jaime could feel the slight tremble

Under His ProtectionChapter 016Damon's hand was still trembling slightly as he stared at Aliyah. The look in his eyes made Jaime want to punch him in the face."Well then," Mrs. Chen said, completely oblivious to the tension in the room. She handed Aliyah a printed schedule and a temporary ID card. "Here you go, dear. You're all set. Your first class is Advanced Literature with Mr. Harrison in room 304. That's on the third floor."She smiled at Damon. "Since you've so kindly volunteered, Damon, why don't you show Aliyah to her first class? Jaime, you should head to your own class now. You're already late.""But I have the same class," Jaime protested, his voice coming out more desperate than he wanted. "We're in the same year. Same schedule."Mrs. Chen looked at her computer screen and nodded. "Oh, you're right. Well, that works out perfectly then. You can both escort her."Damon's smile was sharp and cold. "Actually, Mrs. Chen, I think it would be better if I took Aliyah alone. Yo

Rage Chapter 018The rest of the school day dragged on like torture.Every single class, it was the same pattern. Damon would walk in with Aliyah, sit next to him, and act like they were best friends. He'd lean close and whisper things. Laughing at what might be a silly joke only he found funny. And Aliyah would sit there, stiff and miserable, his eyes always searching for Jaime. In Math class, Damon offered to share his textbook with Aliyah, scooting his chair so close their shoulders touched. In Science class, Damon volunteered them as lab partners before anyone else could say anything. Each time, Jaime's wolf growled louder inside him. Each time, it got harder to stay in his seat and not charge across the room.Layla , who shared most of their classes, kept giving Jaime worried looks. She had seen him angry before, but never like this. Never this intense.By the time the final bell rang, Jaime was ready to snap. The loud ring echoed through the hallways, and students immediately s
