Andrew Kane (POV)"I warned you about this girl Andrew, didn't I? I specifically told you that she's up to no good and would bring you nothing but trouble. Can you see for yourself now?" Margaret seethed with anger, pacing to and fro in the hospital passage. This part of the hospital was reserved for my family alone and Ken knows better than to allow commoners up here."Mama stop, there's no evidence that she did it, moreover Lena is my mate and there's no reason for me to regret. She has been nothing but good and respectful towards you. I don't know where all this is coming from and I won't stand here and watch you speak about my wife in such a condescending manner," I warned, my eyes sending threat silently without raising my voice."Drake, can you hear that? My own son is threatening me because of a girl from the gutter. Because of a girl that brought nothing when she got married to my son. She has definitely bewitched him and I hope it wouldn't be late for you to realize that," Ma

Andrew Kane (POV)Mama's eyes were weary with tears unshed, I wondered why she would cry for Selene's sake. The situation was expected, it's either she or the child survives it. I left her at the door and went in search of Ken who had already left the emergency room to his office. Leaving the nurses to dress her up. Uncle Drake followed me from behind, I pulled the metal door open and walked into the office. Ken was washing his hand by the sink and drying it with the towel hung on the hanger. "I thought you would manage the situation, you should have saved the child by all means," I said, pushing the chair opposite him backward to sit while Uncle occupied the next. "That's funny. You of all people knew how dire the situation is. She had already lost so much blood before she got here. I should be the one asking you what happened. What the hell happened in the mansion, she will be due next month. How come?" Ken asked, his voice dripping with curiosity as he looked between Uncle and

Elena Torres (POV)I sat down quietly listening to Margaret acquire what I didn't do. Andrew already texted me on the situation of things and I really felt sorry for Selene's loss. I know how it felt to lose a child you have nurtured in your womb for months. A being that has become part of you. I almost lost myself when I thought I had lost mine."Can we watch the tape together so everyone would stop accusing me of what I did not do?" I asked in a low voice, trying to shove Margaret's hand which still rested on my shoulder. Her breath was all over my face, igniting anger within me at her baseless accusation. Her long artificial nails were digging into my flesh, intentionally."Are you asking that we watch how you committed a murderous act with our own two eyes again? You really want to traumatize us, don't you?" Margaret scoff, dusting off her hands as if she just touched a dusty surface."What are you afraid of? Why are you so keen on pinning this matter on me? Marcus already said t

Andrew Kane (POV)I went back into my condo to have a quick shower before I met with Briel and the bald man. I was troubled in my spirit that these men had a connection with someone. Briel hasn't proven to be otherwise after his confession that he only attacked Marcus because he thought he wanted to harm me.His words weren't convincing in the very least because I knew what I saw that day. The bright gladness of an intent killer, who would kill anyone for the joy of it.Why Selene would wish to have Lena dead still baffles me even though she knows she has no chance in my heart.I came out of the bathroom with water dripping over my body. Arranging meetings with my elders was the first step towards securing my borders. They had watched the tape with their own eyes, otherwise it would have been impossible to convince them that Elena didn't push her to death. The maids were fond of cooking up stories that could put the pack in danger sometimes. I know that the news of what happened would

Andrew Kane (POV) Marcus and I left the room quietly, walking side by side down the prison stairs. Each engaged with his own thoughts."Briel's face looks somewhat familiar but I can't place it where I've seen him before. The fact that he is a rogue makes it harder to recollect," Marcus said, looking forward to the mansion while his face crumbled in worry."His anger is directed towards you for a reason. From day one, he was more interested in taking a pound of your flesh more than anything. Do you have anything to do with his exile?" I asked, trying to make sense of all these too."You know the pack has been at peace since your father passed away and you got married. There hasn't been a war or clash with anyone, so I'm surprised. We haven't sent anyone to exile, and recent disputes are settled amicably," Marcus replied, turning to the direction of the house with a sigh."Maybe you would visit him later to find out what happened, right now, the manacle wouldn't do much to restrain hi
