Andrew Kane (POV)"Hello, Alpha. I've been expecting you since last night but I thought maybe you were busy and you couldn't make it. You didn't call either about Luna's welfare, so I thought to call you," Ken's voice came through the sharp speaker."What do you mean that my wife came to the hospital and you couldn't inform me on time? What is she doing there?" I asked, irritation seeping into the pores of my skin."Initially, she said she came to visit Selene. She was with her the entire night. She just fell asleep a few minutes ago. That's why I called," Ken explained. I could hear the sound of papers flipping as he talked."And you let her stay in the same room with Selene? What if Selene woke up and harmed her? The environment is not conducive for both of them to stay in the same room. What are you thinking of?" I asked in a cold voice."She wouldn't stop disturbing me until I let her into Selene's ward. And Selene doesn't have the power to attack her in her condition. I've measur

Elena Torres (POV)Andy led me to Ken's office to eat. He already ordered a fried chicken salad and mashed potatoes. My mouth watered and my stomach grumbled in protest at the sight of it. Reminding me of my negligence to eat dinner yesterday and today I missed breakfast also.I didn't miss Ken's incessant stare at me as I ate. He was engrossed in a conversation with Andy about Selene's present condition. She was getting better according to him and the surgery site has started healing too. Being a half witch and a wolf, she has a faster healing rate than normal wolves. My eyes grew bigger when it dawned on me that I had a meeting with the women this morning. I sigh in frustration. I kept digging my own grave. It totally escaped my mind while I was running away last night. Even though I haven't missed any of our meetings, I don't want to either because I've begun to like them. They weren't scared to hide their disapproval concerning any issues and the way their eyes were trained anytim

Andrew Kane (POV)I saw the alphas off to their cars after the meeting ended, securing their trust and pledge in the meeting. They promised to keep me updated about Blackthorn actions in the Southwest and tried convincing the alphas that could be of help. Seeing that we were outnumbered by Blackthorn's men.Jason was the last alpha standing by, his cold face didn't bother me because I could see him shivering behind this fake demeanor of his. It appears as if Blackthorn had reached out to him first. He kept crashing the back of his head which I think was a habit of his.I opened the door of his small car for him to get in, his gaze rested on me longer than it had during the whole meeting. Deliberating on whether to enter the car or not.I pushed him inside the car and entered too. His driver looked at us and I smiled at him."Bring it out and don't bother wasting my time as you can see my wife is waiting for me," I stated, my deep voice leaving no room for arguments."I don't know what

Marcus Kane (POV)"What are you afraid of, do you still have a sister here or something or you think I was the one behind your parents' exile?" I probed further, determined to find out whatever it was before leaving."And what are you going to do if you find out? Leave her, like she's some kind of demon to be exorcised because she's a part of us?" Briel asked, turning backward swiftly, his voice rising over the edge."Oh, she is a she! This is getting more interesting than I expected. So what has this person got to do with me, as far as I am concerned I don't have a lot of women in my life. Did I by chance treat her wrongly because I know for a fact that this 'her' is a family," I said, shocked by the revelation behind his anger even though it was the whole story already but it makes sense.I tried recollecting if I had treated any woman wrongly in the past but nothing comes to mind. Who then is this person? Of course, it can't be Selene, there's no such connection between them."You

Marcus Kane (POV)Clara finally came out of the bar fifteen minutes later, that was fast but it kinda makes my heart leap in joy watching her catwalk towards my car from the side mirror. Her purple cardigan was still tied around her waist, her white singlet illuminated the dark night. Her brown bag was hanging over her shoulder while her messy bun had no justice done to it. I often wonder how someone can have a mean face and still look beautiful all the same. Like how did she do that, a face that warns people to stay away but a sweet soul within.Arrgh, it's crazy. I'm happy though, at least I won't have to be competing with some local fools over her. How can someone be crazy over another person's mate? Was this how Papa felt when he met mama? Those two were inseparable during papa's life. Sometimes it was even a burden because you could hardly find papa alone when you wanted to discuss privately with him. They were so much in love with each other that they fought all the time too. Th
