LYRA I'm lifted again, and before I fully understand what’s happening, I find myself bent over the counter. The cold tiles a fresh feeling against my hot skin. I look up into the mirror, watching as Zane pulls down his pants and… Holy fuck. His monster of a dick has a drop of delicious looking precum on it, I reach back, running my hand over his long length. He hisses in satisfaction, bucking slightly against my hand. And again. His head falls back when I move my thumb over his tip and bring my finger to my lips. It is fucking divine and I can’t help but moan at the taste of him. I reach behind me again, but a hand grips my wrist, placing my hand on the cold counter. He pushes my head down on the counter again, pressing my cheek against the tiles. Then he spreads my legs wider with his thigh. He runs his dick between my wet folds, and I can do nothing but tremble in anticipation. “Don’t move,” is all he says before he walks to a dresser at the other side of the

LYRA I take a long shower, and try to force down some of the food sitting on my bedside table, but all I manage is a piece of dry ciabatta. Not even butter or jam. Delicious right? But I can’t even look at the rest of the food. I’m so stressed, I actually feel nauseous. Finally giving up on the food, I get out of bed and make my way down the hall to Ellie’s room. Am I selfish to wake her this early? Absolutely. But knowing Ellie, she’s probably been worried sick. And I need her right now. I need some girl time before I go home today. Because when I do… who knows when I’ll see her again? I guess I’ve finally accepted it. Unless a miracle happens tomorrow—or Zane decides to actually intervene, which would also be a miracle—I’m getting shipped back to the Arcane-Oracle pack. That’s a given. Unless one of the other girls suddenly develops a conscience, it’s going to be one team of three…and one lone Lyra. Now that would be me—the cha-cha dancer smack in the middle of the shit show

LYRA After the judge finishes explaining the rules, we’re ushered outside by another instructor. The air is cold, the sun has barely risen and there is a mist still hanging on the forest floor. We stand at the edge, looking out at the forest stretching in front of us, and even in my anxious state, I must admit. It is beautiful. I take a deep breath, and the soothing scent of pine cones and wet grass fills my lungs. There are morning birds chirping, rustling in the leaves. Somehow, the ambiance of the forest always brings me a sense of calm. And I know I can do this. I can one hundred percent, absolutely ace this challenge. “Shift,” the instructor orders. Fuck. The other cadets obey immediately, and I am surrounded by the sounds of bones snapping. Fur ripples. Wolves surge forward, restless and eager, with their claws digging into the dirt. Some of the wolves look at me, clearly expecting that I’d get over my no-shifting-rule for the elimination. And then the ins

LYRANessa and the other two girls are holding their own against the other warriors. Nessa is fighting off one and her friends are fighting the other two, but they’re clearly getting tired. And the warriors are taking advantage of that. So I guess we’ll just have to do this my way. Careful not to touch her wounds, I throw Tabitha over my shoulder, and use the claws of my hands and feet to climb the tree trunk. My every movement makes her groan in pain, her blood dripping down my body, but there’s no way I’m slowing down. It probably looks ridiculous. Me carrying a woman so much stronger than me up the tree, but oh well. When we get to the first, sturdiest branch I can find, I put her down, sitting with her back against the tree and legs dangling off the sides. She’s still conscious, luckily. But her healing is way too slow for my liking. These stupid werewolf genes… Jumping down again, praying to anyone who will listen that she doesn’t fall off, I lunge at another warrior wolf a

LYRAHis deep commanding voice has a shiver running down my spine.I get on my hands and knees on the couch, and a low hum of approval vibrates in his chest from where he is standing behind me. That sound alone has my thighs clenching so hard I almost gasp. His approval should not turn me on so much. But fuck, it does. Suddenly, his right hand comes down on my ass, so hard I’m sure it left a red mark. My entire body jolts forward, but his other hand lands on my hip, keeping me in place. And then, he’s massaging the cheek he just hit. His left hand spanks my left cheek, and it has my arousal dripping down my legs. I’m so turned on, I’m practically delirious. And when he massages my left cheek as well, a low groan leaves my lips. The bastard actually chuckles, and he traces his fingers up my thighs, so slowly one would think we have all damn day. “We don’t have a lot of time,” my voice sounds so breathless, I should be humiliated. But I just can’t find it in myself to care right no
