CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE: THE STEEL GATE.ALPHA CADEN'S POV “Where is he?” I asked, there was no response, just a bunch of trembling grown men looking at each other and then at the ground like they wanted it to open and swallow them. I furrowed my brows, my face tightened into a frown, my hands clenched into fists.I wanted more than anything to unleash my anger on them, wanted more than anything to make them feel my wrath, for them to experience my rage but then I had to remind myself of my father's greatest tenets “patience”.“Be patient Caden,” my father would say as we stood in the woods, with the arrow between my fingers, my eyes staring in the direction of the prey and the bow firmly in my grip.Be patient Caden, at least listen to what they have to say. A leader who rules with fear is easily destroyed. Loyalty that stems from fear is weak so I do my best to be lenient with my subjects. Instead of striking them dead on the spot for failing to answer my question, I am going to giv

CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE: A CENTURY.ALPHA CADEN'S POV “Let me take him home to bury,” I said. The doctor looked at me in shock.Something about the directness of my works, the curtness of my tone seem to shock him. He stood there like a flailing fish. It annoyed me that he stood there instead of moving along with those things he calls legs to carry out my order. Humans, they have this annoying tendency to act foolish, this insane urge to not obey orders, if this was a werewolf hospital, it would be different. A werewolf would know not to waste my time. A werewolf would have been made to understand from the day of his birth that his or her life belongs to me, that his or her entire being was offered to me on the day that they took up the Green wood mark.Argh! Werewolves are easier to work with, if it was a werewolf acting a fool, I would have snapped his head off of his body and no questions would be asked but it is a human so I have to be more understanding and less rash because of t

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE: AN ANGELLUCIAN'S POV “Leave now,” I had said and just like that she was gone and now I regret it, now I cannot help but imagine something bad happening to her. I cannot stop imagining these horrible scenarios that begins with her entering into an unknown person's car and ends with her body thrown away in a ditch somewhere. I know I should not think that way, I know I should give Rhea a bit if grace. She is smart and wise and stubborn…gosh, she is so stubborn, I could not stop the stupid smile from creeping up to my lips as I thought about her, as I reflected on the great contrast that is Rhea Robertson. She looks so sweet and gentle and innocent when she sleeps. The way her beautiful silky hair falls on the bed slightly over her face, the way the small hues of the early morning sunlight had landed on her hair, the way she had muttered something inaudible with her eyebrows slightly furrowed and her lips pursed, anyone would have mistaken her for an angel…a perfe

CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN: MURKY GROUND.LYRA'S POV Why is he here? What the hell is going on? The GPS keeps leading down an almost inaccessible path. Fuck! My car came to a stop in front of a mud path, what the hell…why the hell is Lucian even here? Is it for a woman? Why would he endure this horrible path for a woman? According to the GPS location that I had installed in his phone. His location is supposedly East. My heels get caught in the dirt, god! The crazy thing I do for this man!I dragged myself through the mud, while muttering about how frustrated I am. I swear to God if Lucian is with a woman right now I will… I will… Argh! Moon goddess please save me the heart break, I don't think that I can bear it if I caught him in bed with this mystery woman. I'm don't know if I can bear the heart ache, I will certainly keel over and die from the shame, I will certainly kill myself if he cheats on me. I mean what more is there to live for? Lucian is everything I have in this world, Lucia

CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE: LONE STAR.LYRA'S POVThe look on Lucian's face scared me, more than that, it saddened me, what happened to us? Why is the reaction he has after not seeing me for a long time? Why this reaction? His brows furrowed, his lips form a taunt tight line that imitated the look of a lips that had never smiled before. I tried to ignore whatever it was that was going on, I convinced myself that if I acted like everything was alright between us then everything will be alright, everything will go back to normal, back to the time when I was the only person he cared about, his lone star in a sky filled with uncertainties and darkness.I leaned in closer to Lucian, I ignored the warning in my mind, I have seen Lucian go totally dark in anger, I have seen him do unspeakable things when blinded in anger. I drowned out the voice in my head that warned me to avoid him because of the mood he is in. I tuned out what might be considered as common sense and instead leaned in and pulled
