Orange Garden (2)

“I hope I never need it,” I told him. “I don’t like carrying a gun everywhere.”“You need it for protection. Maybe you need a smaller gun that you can carry, especially now. There is danger everywhere, and I’m afraid whoever is coming for everyone around you might come for you.”That was a real concern that we had, but I didn’t want to think about that any longer than I had to. I would do that once I went back to the reality that was waiting for me back in New York.Things over there were fucked up. Lily was helping me look into some things, and she told me not to worry. She assured me to enjoy my stay with Nero. She was his biggest fan. She thought he really loved me.I didn’t blame her.“You do notice lots of things about me. You probably know me better than anyone.”“Do I know you better than Dominic?” I asked him.“Probably not. He’s my right-hand man. He and I grew up together. He’s helping Nico take care of business back in New York.”“I’m jealous of him. I want to know you bett

Consigliere

Nero took me to watch the stars in the hills near his house. The view was amazing, and everything was peaceful. I tried my best to pretend everything was okay, but I wasn’t fooling him.“You have been quiet since we came from our date. Didn’t you like it?” He asked.“I loved it. It’s the most fun I have had in a long time. Don’t think like that.”“Then what’s wrong?” He asked.“I realized I’m so in love with you, and we might not end up together. Nero, I’ll be crushed. I don’t think I can be able to handle it. I’ll be so broken.”He put his hand under my chin and forced me to look at him. I didn’t want him to see how stupid I was for being hung up on him.“I love you, Serena. I’m never letting you go. I told you that.”He reached into his pockets and took out a velvet box. I was shocked more than anything. I told myself it couldn’t be a ring. It had to be at least a bracelet or something like that.“I planned to wait for this, but I feel like this is the perfect opportunity. I can’t s

New faces/ new side

“Who is that?” I asked Nero.He watched Marco leave, and only when he wasn’t in view did he turn towards me. He didn’t look impressed in the slightest. It was obvious the two didn’t get along.“He’s the son of my brother’s advisor. In every organization, there is an advisor who decides whether the decisions a mafia leader makes are wise or not. They assess whether a certain situation will lead to war or do more harm than good.”I’d heard of consiglieres. His father must have been that man.“You don’t like him.”“I don’t. He’s a bastard, and his sister is just as bad as he is. The only reason I tolerate the two of them is that their father has done a good job for us. He’s the reason we’re not currently at war with the Russians.”“You work with his father?”“His father worked for my father, and now works for Nico. I don’t work closely with him, but his opinions affect me indirectly or directly. The old man is getting ready to retire, and unfortunately, he’s the next in line to be the co

A surprise

He looked confused as I got on top of him and kissed him. He kissed me back and pulled me closer by my waist. My lips moved against him passionately, not wanting to stop. He tasted like something forbidden. And it turned me on more than anything.I pushed my panties to the side, guided his cock into me, and sat on it. I had never been in that position with Nero, and I could see how much he was struggling not to turn us around and fuck me.I pushed my hips up and down his cock, feeling his fullness inside me. It felt so good with his hands on my ass while I moved on him. It made me feel amazing to be in control. It seemed to drive Nero crazy.“Fuck,” he groaned into my ear, and he brought his lips to the bridge between my neck and shoulder and sucked. It drove me insane when he did that. I didn’t care that the driver could hear us. I was more concerned with getting an orgasm, so I bounced on him harder. I moaned loudly as I moved faster.“Jesus!” I screamed as I came on his cock.He ca

Milan Fashion Week

The fashion show was amazing, and afterwards, I was introduced to several famous designers who were excited to read my article from the fashion show. The whole moment was surreal. But that wasn’t even the best part.I looked at a dress a little too long, and Nero bought it off the runway. It was a beautiful Versace gown, and it looked really amazing. Seeing how much he had done for me, I talked to the Armani designer in private to see if we could collaborate to design something for Nero’s birthday. He didn’t tell me when it was, but I had asked Dominic. Nero didn’t care about his birthday and refused to tell me when it was because he didn’t want to celebrate it. I disagreed.I had to at least get him a birthday gift, even if he didn’t want to celebrate it. The Armani designer agreed and told me he would be in New York in the next week and we could meet and design something. He said he could see my vision. I wanted to help design a line dedicated to Nero, but I didn’t tell him that for

Back to New York

“You know this isn’t what I meant. I just wanted you to tell me we were leaving Italy. I wouldn’t have refused to come with you. Your refusal to tell me anything shows how little you respect me.”“I respect you, Serena. It's just that when this happens, I think only about your safety. I was speaking to my brothers and other high-ranking members of the Italian mafia about what just happened. I have to coordinate everyone and make sure they don’t hear this news from anyone else.”His explanation made sense, but it didn’t change the fact that he saw me as an accessory he could drag everywhere. He wouldn’t have even told me what had happened had I not asked about it.This whole thing with him was getting a little too uncomfortable.I refused to say anything and occupied myself with a magazine as we took off. Once we were in the air, I went to the room on the jet and took a nap. I was tired, and I wanted to get some rest.I also didn’t want to talk to Nero. He didn’t follow me after I went

Foolish girl

My heart was beating wildly against my chest, and I could barely stand. I fought the urge to scream and run. Nero told me Nico preyed on people’s fear. He was like a beast who fed off of it.“I’m not running from you, Nico. What do you want?” I asked, my voice quivering. He got off the wall and started walking towards me. It took everything in me not to walk backwards. Despite not wanting to falter, I made sure the bedroom door was unlocked so I could run at any moment. If he tried to take my life, I would run and attack him with the knives I had in my kitchen. I had to be faster than him since he was bigger. Nero had been right. A gun was no good if it was locked in a hidden safe.I couldn’t access it.“I want to know why you were in Italy with my baby brother,” he stated as he reached me.We were inches apart, and I was sure he could tell from my heavy breathing and the quick rise and fall of my chest that I was scared.“He kidnapped me, Nico. I didn’t have much of a choice.” I said

Back to reality

The night turned out to be unexpected. Nico and I sat on chairs on my balcony smoking a joint. I don’t know how we ended up in that position, but we did. He told me all about Nero and the things he had done.I knew he was doing it because he wanted me to be turned off by Nero, or at the very least claim he was a bad person, but I couldn’t erase the love I had for Nero. I still loved him despite all he had done.“Aren’t you a little too old to be smoking a joint?” I asked him.It was a full moon outside, and it was beyond beautiful. Too bad I was being threatened to leave a man I was so madly in love with. It sort of felt like my heart was slowly being ripped apart. There was a time I imagined a life with Nero. That had to be the most stupid I had ever been. The more time I spent with Nico, the more I realized the love Nero and I shared didn’t have a place in this world.“Aren’t you too old to have a joint?” Nico retorted.“My best friend leaves a stash so she can smoke when she’s over

Cry baby

Like the crybaby I was, I sobbed to Lily about what Nico had told me. He was determined to make sure Nero married Tallulah. We had googled her after Nico told me her name, and she was gorgeous. She was blonde with hypnotizing hazel eyes. She was very petite, unlike me. I had curves for days, and I was on the bigger side when it came to boobs. They weren’t huge, but they weren’t small either. She was nothing like me.Nero was coming back in a few hours, and I wasn’t sure what I would say to him. I had been ignoring his calls and texts because I didn’t want to act like everything was fine, and it wasn’t. I also couldn’t tell him we couldn’t be together over the phone.Work was keeping me busy, but barely. I still cried myself to sleep every single night. I had planned to move into the penthouse Nero had set aside for me, but I wasn’t sure he would let me do it after I broke things off with him.So I refused to move into the new place until he told me I could still have it. Things with m

It’s over

The moment I walked into her apartment, I already knew something was wrong. Serena couldn’t look me in the eye, and she hadn’t moved into the penthouse as she told me she would. The way her best friend rushed away when she saw me, and said she was going to see Serena later, also spoke volumes. Needless to say, that wasn’t the reaction I expected when I showed up. I hadn’t seen her since we left Italy. We had an argument on the plane that could have been avoided if I had just kept her in the loop. I was wrong for that, and I should have apologized to her sooner. I hadn’t had a chance to apologize properly because a lot had been happening. I was in Chicago, then I went to Las Vegas, and a lot of other places. I reassured all the Capos that everything was okay, and Marco Conti was sworn in as the new consigliere as soon as Nico went back to Italy. He would be back for my engagement, but he needed to make sure everything in Italy was alright. A power imbalance attracted a lot of enemies
