142 After a joyful dinner, where Sam blushed throughout for having his first date and Vera couldn't stop smiling, he offered to take a stroll with her like a 'gentleman'. Their fingers were entwined and Sam was red. He looked down to hide his face whenever a person passed by them.  "Why are you lowering your head in front of people, Sam? Are you embarrassed of being with me?" Vera bit her lips to hide her smile.  "No way!" Sam almost screamed. "I... I am..." His cheeks darkened to a lovely maroon. "I am a little shy. This is my first date and I'm... Holding hands with you... In public. So... You know, I am a little shy." Vera guffawed exhilaratedly as her head threw back. She thanked Rhayghar for canceling their plan. If he hadn't then she would have missed this wonderful evening with Sam. To be honest, Vera liked his company more than she liked any other men's.

Once he was gone, Vera cleaned the snow dust from Luna Berta's head and insisted. "It's getting colder and we both are not in appropriate clothes. Shall we go down?" "Let me die, Luna Vera. Please." Vera gulped at the sound of Berta's voice. It was raw with pain. Her eyes also misted with tears that made Vera feel devastated. What was her pain? "Are you experiencing domestic abuse Luna Berta? 146When Shantelle's instructions were over, Vera was given the duty to collect the sheets from all the rooms on the First Floor, and bring them to the laundry room and hand them over to the one responsible for washing them. It was a small task given she was new and Shantelle wanted the newly admitted staff to have an easy first day. This didn't mean their coming days were going to be any better. Today was merely a rehearsal. Tomorrow, the real performance is going to begin.
