"I'm sorry about that," Vera said through the phone. I glanced at the girl seated at my table, drinking hot chocolate with no care in the world.  "It's no bother. You don't need to apologize, I just needed to confirm," I said.  "That's okay. Please don't forget to let me know if you need anything at all," she said, concern clear in her tone.  "Of course. Thank you, Vera," I said and ended the call.   "Done confirming?" Vivian asked while watching me.  "Yeah," I murmured.  "It wasn't a good idea to let me in and offer me hot chocolate before doing that," 

Leena Any reservations I had about attending the party quickly disappeared. I believed it was the same stranger I had spoken to. He had not contacted me, since I saw that picture, so maybe he wanted to address it. I stopped by the house after work to change and get dressed, then Kendrick drove me to the party.  Guests were still arriving when I got there. I steeled my spine as I walked into the hall, surrounded by high society. I tried to avoid these as much as I could. I weaved through the guests and found a table of drinks. I grabbed one and slinked to the corner to drink. My phone was clutched tightly in my hand as I waited for the stranger to text me what to do next.  I watched the guest from my spot.  “Leena?” I looked to my right in surprise

George  I pulled out of her driveway and instantly made a call.  “Is he awake?”  “Yes boss,” I ended the call and drove down to the warehouse. Just as I parked my car, my phone rang. I checked the caller ID and saw Flora’s name. I rejected the call and turned off my phone.  “Boss?” Declan greeted me as I neared the door.  “Take me to him,” we entered the torture room and I saw the man from earlier, hanging from the lowered roof. He was bloody and properly beaten.  “Anything from him?”  

LeenaI was burning up. Everything felt so hot and my head was pounding. I tried to move but my body failed me and I remained in bed. I looked over at my nightstand and tried to grab my phone but even that was too much of a task. Unable to do anything, I closed my eyes for a moment. Where's Revna" I tried to move again but she gently pushed me back into bed. "Revna's at school" she said and I groaned again. Already? What time was it? I tried to grab my phone again but she stopped me. "You need to rest. I'll be back" she said and disappeared from the room. I closed my eyes for a moment and then I drifted off to sleep again.
