“Dead?” she mummered, her face scrunched in confusion I wiped my eyes, then pinched myself “ow” I groaned, okay, this wasn't a dream. “You're real?” I asked, my voice laced with uncertainty.“Well, I am, or I should be” she shrugged“Lacinda?” I called out, just to be sure.“Is that what they call her?” “That's your name,” I muttered, still looking at her, not knowing what to feel, “sit” she pointed at a chair But I stood still, frozen, my eyes trailing her every movement, how is this possible? I had so many questions, many thoughts were running through my head at onceWhat was going on?“You look like you have a lot of questions, but first sit” she ordered, stiffly I walked to the chair and sat.My mind was blank, staring at her, I brought out the frame I had taken from my father's room, just to confirm “it's really you” I muttered.I suddenly felt a surge of emotions, anger, hurt, pain, happiness, I couldn't tell which was which “Here” she handed me a plate, “eat something” “

Lucas advanced closer to us, my body trembled uncontrollably, the torture, humiliation, ridicule I had gone through the past month all came rushing back. He began checking the leaves next to us, one by one, the person behind me stiffened, his silent breath now came in short rasps.“Alpha” a voice called from behind stopping him from searching further and saving us temporarily. He turned and soon we couldn't hear anything any more. The hand clamped on my lips came down, we both breathed a sigh of relief, I was saved.I turned to thank my saviour but just then the mash of leaves where we were hidden was separated and opened.I was face to face with Lucas, his obsidian eyes peering directly into my teary ones.“Gotcha” a cruel smile tugged at his lips, “Lucas” a choked sob left my lips, I took a step back, I can't return to that place. My back hit a wall—not a wall, a chest, I mean walls don't rise and fall right? I turned to see the face of my saviour, his lips were curled with a ti

We shut our eyes, shielding Lilith from the incoming ball. The necklace on my neck suddenly got warm, then it emitted a soft glow that wrapped around us, shielding us from the attack, the blast hit and bounced off, the shock wave sent Andrea flying back. This bitch wants us dead, “that much is obvious” Ava said sarcastically Lacinda really thought of everything I muttered, finally the glow died down, we placed Lilith on the floor and turned back to Andrea“You're dead bitch” Ava bared her fangsAndrea wiped off the trail of blood running down the corner of her lips, she staggered backwards still looking at us with that unhinged expression.“Your mother made a mistake by deciding to keep you two evil spawns but she paid for it with her life. I'm going to help her remedy that mistake” she spat “At least she achieved something you never could, tell me how did it feel using a spell to keep a man” I snarled She began chanting again, but this time her veins darkened, black lines began dr

He sighed, “she's fine, her wolf is already healing her, we've cleaned her wounds, we believe her wolf will handle the rest” “Ava” I smiled “Yes, your Luna's wolf is a strong one, stronger than most. She just needs proper rest, her body is exhausted, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now” He quickly bowed and leftIgnoring the fearful gazes of the nurse, I walked straight to Aella and took a seat next to her, caressing her face softly.“She looks so peaceful,” Eden said, voice lowered.“I know buddy,” I smiled.I could feel Kaden's worried gaze from behind, the hushed whispers between him and Celeste“Out with it” I finally asked, since they wouldn't.“Well….” Kaden began, hesitating for a moment “More packs have lost its members, the Alpha's are wondering if they could have a meeting with you” Celeste completed rolling her eyes at Kaden“Yes, exactly what she said” “And..” I continued, there was no way this little bit of information has Kaden fidgeting and difficult to

AellaThe room froze at my question, Kaden seemed to have disappeared without my knowledge. Well, that's irrelevant.“She's…” Celeste hesitated, “Alive” I nodded, that was honestly all that mattered, “Good” on a second thought I pressed further “how is she taking everything?” “Not too well” Celeste sighed, “we've tried our best, but—I think it's better you see for yourself” “See what?” “Just freshen up and we can go see her” “No need to be so mysterious, but fine. I do need to see her for myself, not like we can run away from any of this” I sighed, finding out that Lilith was my sister and saving her wasn't exactly what I envisioned for my future but better to just go with the flow, at least for now.So many memories came rushing back as I walked down the halls of the hospital, its signature antiseptic smell lingering in the air. Once I had been scorned in here for daring to sneak in to beg for drugs, well Abuela needed it tho, but that's besides the point. How times change, I
