Chapter 131

We were both dead tired, tangled up in the sheets after everything we'd done earlier and sleep hit me hard, deeper than it had in weeks, with Ronan's warm body pressed against mine.but then my phone started buzzing, that insistent ring, waking me up. I groaned low in my throat, not wanting to move, but it wouldn't stop ringing.. Blinking against the dim light filtering through the curtains, I shifted carefully, trying to ease Ronan off me without waking him. His arm was slung over my waist, heavy and possessive even in his sleep, and when I nudged him, he just mumbled something incoherent, pulling me closer like a kid with his favorite toy.I shook my head, a small smile tugging at my lips despite the annoyance. “Come on, man.” I whispered, more to myself than to him. Gently, I pried his fingers loose and pushed him back onto his side of the bed. He frowned in his sleep, his brows knitting together, and reached out again, grabbing at the air. To keep him settled, I grabbed a pillow

“Alright. Keep tracking them. Double the watch around the house, and get me a full rundown on Vakrez by morning. I need to know his weak spots, allies, whatever you can dig up and also, make no mistakes.” I ended the call, shoving the phone into my pocket as I stood there in the hallway, staring at the closed bedroom door. My mind raced, piecing it together. Seven guys? Armed? They were closing in, and Ronan was the prize they wanted. But over my dead body. I'd burn the whole city down before letting some Russian thug take what's mine.I pushed the door open quietly, the hinges barely making a sound. The room was still dim, the lamp casting a warm glow over the bed where Ronan lay curled up with that pillow, oblivious to the storm brewing outside. I stood in the doorway for a long minute, just staring at him. His chest rose and fell slowly, one arm draped over the pillow like it was me, his hair falling across his forehead in that messy way that made him look younger and softer. The

Chapter 133

Ronan’s POVIt's been about two weeks now since that night with the phone call that had Leon all tense and clingy. And yeah, I've been sleeping in his room every single night, right there in his big king-sized bed that used to feel like forbidden territory. Before, he'd always draw these invisible lines between us and his space was off-limits, especially the bedroom. He'd have this look on his face if I even lingered too long in the doorway, like I was invading some sacred ground. But now? It's like a switch flipped. Leon got me glued to his side, making sure I'm always within arm's reach, whether we're eating, or not and when he comes back from wherever he goes.. At first, it threw me off, wondering what changed, but honestly? I don't mind it one bit and if anything at all, I loved it. It felt good to be wanted like that, to wake up with his arm slung over me and his breath warm on my neck. It's this quiet kind of security I've been craving without even realizing it. It made the

Chapter 134

Inside the bag, nestled in tissue paper, was a phone. It was brand new, shiny, and the screen was still wrapped in plastic. My smile? It just... faded. It dropped right off my face like it'd been slapped away.“This is... a phone.” I muttered, more to myself than him, pulling it out and turning it over in my hands. The weight of it felt heavy, not just physically but like it carried all these unspoken expectations that I suddenly started to feel. “Yeah, it's a phone.” Leon replied, his tone shifting to something curious now. He tilted his head, studying my face like he was trying to read the confusion there. “What? Why are you acting like you've never seen one before?”I wanted to laugh it off, to crack a joke about how fancy it was, but the words stuck in my throat. Why a phone? Of all things, why this? I mean, he could've given me a watch, or hell, even one of those stupid ties he wears, I'll take it, but a phone? He was just suddenly giving me a way to reach out to the world beyo

Chapter 135

“My number's already programmed in there.” Leon said, his voice dropping low and serious, the kind of tone that usually meant that he needed me to listen to him. “I want you to call me right away if you see anything strange around you, or if you end up in some weird situation. Don't wait, just press number 1, my number is the speed dial and also the emergency number.”I blinked at him, my eyebrows pulling together in a frown. “What the hell was that about? Strange situation how? I mean, we'd been sitting here eating breakfast like normal, syrup sticking to my fingers from the pancakes, and now this? My mind raced a little as I thought about what Leon could mean. Like what, some random guy bumping into me? Its not like I even step out of the house in the first place. Or is he trying to say that I would be going out more often. Or was he talking about something bigger? I shifted in my seat, the wooden chair creaking under me, and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.“Strange in wh

Chapter 136

The words hung in the silence, heavy and honest, and I felt my cheeks heat up a little. Admitting that out loud made me feel exposed, like I'd cracked open a door I usually kept shut. But it was true because I'd lie awake sometimes, staring at the ceiling while he slept next to me, wondering when the other shoe would drop. This life, whatever it was, felt fragile, built on sand that could sink any day.Leon didn't say anything right away and just watched me with that steady gaze. Then he sighed, rubbing a hand over his jaw, the stubble rasping under his fingers. “But to be honest also..” I added quickly, before he could brush it off, “You’re not showing any signs of getting bored. If anything, these last few weeks, it's like we're stuck together at the hip. You've been working from home non-stop, barely stepping out of the house. Youve been having your eetings on the laptop in your room and taking calls in the hallway.Iit's like you don't want to leave either. And I get it, sort of.

Chapter 137

Leon kicked open the door to his bedroom, our bedroom now, I guess and slammed it shut behind us. The room was dimmer, with the curtains half-drawn and the big bed unmade from last night, the sheets were tangled like we'd left them. Leon didn't waste time and lowered me onto the edge of the mattress before shoving me back fully, climbing over me immediately. His weight pinned me down and I yanked at his shirt, pulling it over his head to expose the hard planes of his chest. Our clothes came off fast after that, his hands fumbling with my belt and mine tugging at his zipper. Our pants hit the floor with soft thuds, followed by our underwears until we were skin to skin, hot and slick with sweat already. He kissed me again, slower this time but no less intense, his cock sliding against mine as he settled between my legs. I wrapped one around his hip, urging him closer, the tip of him brushing my entrance, teasing it without entering yet.“I need yiu.” I breathed out, my nails raking do

Chapter 138

That must have been it for Leon because he stood up fast, towering over both of us, his voice hard. “Get out of my room.” He growled, low and dangerous, stopping Kael mid-rant. Kael turned back to him, glaring daggers at him, but he didn't budge, planting his feet like he owned the place. Leon's eyes narrowed, and he stepped closer, his posture shifting, his shoulders squared and jaw set. “I said, get the hell out of my room.” This time, his tone was ice cold, the kind that promised trouble if ignored. The look on his face wasn't the usual one I knew. This was scary and predatory almost. I could see Kael hesitate, the anger flickering with a hint of fear. He wasn't stupid and he knew when Leon meant business.Kael shot me one last glare, pure venom in his eyes, before he spun on his heel and stormed out, slamming the behind him so hard that the frame rattled. The sudden quiet after that was deafening, just the sound of my breathing and Leon's steady exhales filling the space.“Oh,

Chapter 139

I was just about to slip out of Leon's room and head back to my own when I started hearing these weird noises. It sounded like a bunch of people moving around all at once, with footsteps shuffling and some low voices murmuring in the distance. At first, I didn't think much of it because for the past few days, Leon's guys had been everywhere, patrolling the halls, checking doors, and standing guard like hawks. The whole house felt like a fortress and security was tighter than ever. It made me curious why they were suddenly so on edge and acting like something bad was about to happen and they were trying to prepare for it, but I figured it was just Leon being his usual self so I shook it off, telling myself it was nothing new, and pushed the door open quietly, stepping into the hallway. The corridor was dimly lit, and I walked slowly, my bare feet padding softly against the cool surface, still wearing just the loose pants I'd thrown on after waking up. I walked further a bit and that

Chapter 140

The scarred guy, who introduced himself to me as Fabian, gave me a quick once-over, like he was sizing me up to see if I would give him any trouble. “We're here to help you.” he said in a thick accent, his English rough but clear. “And to get you out of this place. You can call it a rescue mission.” He glanced down the hall, listening for any sign of trouble, then met my eyes again.“What...?” I blinked, confusion crashing over the fear that I was feeling. Rescue me? From what? From Leon? That didn't make sense. I'd chosen to stay here, despite how crazy it sounded. “You're here to rescue... me?” My voice cracked a little, and I lowered my hands slowly, not wanting to provoke them. The hallway felt narrower now, the walls closing in with these strangers surrounding me.“Uhm, yeah.” Fabian replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. He reached out and grabbed my shoulders, before turning me around so my back was to him. “Come on, we need to move.” He said and we star
