PTSD

Aiden's pov Beads of perspiration formed on my forehead. I wasn't afraid of what was going on outside, I had that sorted. Fear twisted a knot in my stomach. “Stephan, how's the situation outside?”“They're on retreat, we got a good number of them.” “Good.” They will be back but not anytime soon. For now, what's important is finding Avery. Could it be they somehow managed to get to her?“Found her?”“No boss.” Stephan replied, bending his head to avoid eye contact. “But from the surveillance, we know they didn't take her.” “We can't be so sure! Get the dark knights to give chase…I want the men on retreat gone.” Then if they have her, she'll be brought back home.I tried calling her again, still no response. Each time I tried calling her phone, it went straight to voicemail. She wasn't in her room, neither was she in any of the other rooms. I could feel a panic attack coming on. It's been ages since I had one.“Boss! Boss, are you alright? Someone get an inhaler!” Stephan ordered, i

Hard

AIDEN'S POVI could feel light flood into the room through the window. Closing my eyes and reopening them, giving them time to adjust. Avery..? Not real, why would she be here? She is though. This is certainly a good start of the day—awaking to lovely eyes staring at me. Yesterday was a mess—literally. Turns out I overreacted, she was fine all along.“Shouldn't you be in bed, sleeping?” I ask, my voice a little hoarse.“Good morning, Aiden,” she greets with a beautiful brilliant smile that reaches her eyes.Staring at her, knowing she's safe, is so relieving. I don't know why, but it is.“Good morning. Next time you want to leave the house, make sure to tell someone.” Her brows furrow.“You're up, not even up to a minute and you're already bossy. Don't you ever get tired?” Women… Why is she angry all of a sudden? I should be the one angry. “Avery, come here.” “I'm here already.”“You know what I mean. Come closer.” “Okay.” Good girl. Mindful of her injuries I slammed my lips on her

Insane case

AVERY’S POVThe kiss…it's still in my head, replaying over and over. Yesterday, the doctor had given him something to get him to rest, relax his head—brain for a bit. I went to check up on him after making Jayden drop off Kiki, it was getting late and it's so unlike him to sleep all morning.Maybe I had sat so close to him, moving my fingers through his hair on purpose. I just couldn't stop myself. A lot of feelings bustle in me whenever I see him. Watching him sleep, he's usually stoned face, relaxed, no longer cold or mean looking but breathtakingly handsome and peaceful. “I can't do this now…” He'd said, obviously mindful of my injuries. But what if— No! I shouldn't be craving his touch. “Avery, Avery!!” The sharp tone immediately brought me out of my imagination. “Jesus Christ, Avery! Where's your mind at?” “Nowhere…Sorry, you were saying?”“Here are the vegetables, nicely chopped. Here.” She handed me the veggies while staring at me with her brows furrowed. “What's going on? Y

Guilty pleasure

AIDEN'S POV Avery's smile replayed in my head. Will she smile so brightly where and what exactly I was going to do? Why fuck is my problem? Since when did I become a pussy?I got to the dark pleasure house. “Good day sir, welcome.” An employee greeted me. I nodded at him and continued on my way to my room. It was empty—not empty but there wasn't a woman inside.Stupid place and a stupid manager! Why make me come here if— A knock on the door distracted me, it had to be the woman assigned to me. “Come in!” A blonde female, petite, blindfolded, cat walked into the room. Exactly what I had asked for. In my head, I imagined her as Avery. “Strip!” I ordered her, the command not harsh, not loud but certainly not one to refuse. She immediately got rid of her lingerie or whatever those netty things are.Her tits stood proud, nipples pink, clean shaved pussy. I moved over to her and directed her to the side of the bed, “on your fours.” I had no interest in foreplay. Sometimes I make sex supe

Crazy accusation

AVERY'S POY Two long weeks passed, two weeks of healing, reflecting and avoiding Aiden. My anxiety had gotten worse, waiting and hoping for some news from the lawyer. The temptation to go to the Kingston Mansion intensified each passing day but I knew better. "Avery! Avery!" I hadn't heard Aiden shout in a while he'd been quiet as well - barely around. The tone of his voice made my heart race. "What had him calling my name like a crazed man?". "Open the door this instant!" "Go away, Aiden, you're probably drunk." I didn't have the time nor effort to deal with crap. "You've been avoiding me for days - weeks. I let you be." How could his voice sound angrier? I heard him take deep breaths. "I let you be. I figured you needed some time to yourself, time to heal." "Exactly, Aiden, I needed time to myself, I still do." I replied, hoping he'd leave. "I see... Time to yourself..." His reply was laced with something else. Sarcasm? Anger? Maybe both. "You have five fucking minutes

Tender loving

AIDEN'S POVThe cry Avery let out, tore at my heart – what’s left of it into pieces. For two fucking weeks, my wife, Avery ignored me. Giving the attention that should have been mine, to my cousin, Jayden. What the fuck was I supposed to do after seeing the surveillance footage of both of them in the pool?He was so close to her, close to what belongs to me. I got a little pissed and overreacted and now I hurt her. Avery deserves loving that’s pure and slow– however she likes it but not rough. Not what I’d just done.A bullet wound is nothing compared to what I felt when I saw those tears in her eyes. I would not hesitate to put a bullet through any man that hurts Avery and make her cry. Cause her pain in any way.Sadly, I am that man. The man who deserves to be shot multiple times. Truth is, it was much her fault as it was mine, for goodness sake, I am just a man!"Bella mia…" I cupped her face with my hand, wiped a tear with my thumb and brought my lips closer to hers for a kiss. St

Jayden's kiss

AVERY'S POV What do I call these mixed feelings inside me? One minute I hate him the next, I want him. What is wrong with me? The cool breeze caressed my skin, this was exactly what I needed. If Stephan hadn't interrupted, I'm certain Aiden would not have let me go—Not with the way he stared at me hungrily. My heart had pounded so hard—so fast, I could barely breathe. Just thinking about it, my heart raced. "Avery!" I turned my head to the direction of Jaden's voice. "Jayden, what's up?" "I'm cool. What are you doing out here all by yourself?" Really? I hate that question—it seems to be a common question asked by the Armstrong siblings—Jayden and Sydney. "Taking fresh air, like everyone does." I answered with an eye roll. "Alright." He grunted as he joined me on the bench. "You know, earlier, I had seen you run into your room in haste. You seemed pretty upset. What happened? What did Aiden do this time?" Aiden fucked me senseless—of course I can't say that! Nothing. "

Disaster

AIDEN'S POV The drive to the meeting was fast, smooth and quiet—as it should be. I do not cower at the first sight of danger or threat, nor do I worry about it. But if it involves the mafia Community joining forces to come after me, then I should be worried. I sat in the car contemplating different possible outcomes of the situation and what best to do for every situation I imagined in my head. "Boss, we're here!" Rudy:'s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I got out of the car. There was something familiar about the place I just couldn't place it "Good afternoon, dark Boss" The people— mainly mafia henchmen, greeted. A simple nod was enough response. Soon, I got to the room in which the meeting was being held. "I see you all are hosting a meeting without me, quite rude, don't you think?" I said in a dark voice. My eyes caught sight of the frenemy and then the very man I swore to end even if it was the last thing I did, and finally, the Martin's right hand. Was he so freakin

Death

AVERY'S POV“What is Aiden going to do now?” I asked myself as I hugged my knees, wondering what was going to happen next. I wondered what was going on in his head.Hours past and still no sign of him. That even scared me more. I was getting hungry and I really wanted to know if Jayden was still alive, to make sure things hadn't gone out of hand.I walked out of my room, it was too quiet, way too quiet. As I walked closer to the stairs, I could hear voices…cries. What the fuck was going on?! I rushed down the stairs, skipping two at a time. Right there, at the middle of the sitting room, was Sydney, crouched to the ground, screaming her lungs out. No, Aiden couldn't possibly have killed him, right. What has he done?“No, Aiden, you didn't kill him, did you?” I questioned him the second I got to the last step. I joined Sydney on the floor, holding her to console her as my own tears fell freely. “Sydney, what happened? Tell me!” No one was saying anything. Aiden's aunt sat quietly, eyes

Scream

Aiden's povThe satisfaction that came with pummeling my fists on Jayden's face was extraordinary. “Enough, Aiden, you'll kill him if you go on like this!” Rosa warned.“Maybe that's what he deserves!” I shouted in anger. “You have to control yourself. Beating him to death won't change anything. It wouldn't change the fact that he kissed her, nor will it bring Stephan back.”Truth is, this was just me trying to exhaust my anger, cool down and think straight. Jayden had given me a reason to turn him into my human punch bag, a means to vent and keep my anger in check. Sadly, I don't vent with words but fists. In the end, Jayden apologized and decided to go abroad for a while. Hopefully, deal with the stupid feelings he says he has. I'll keep my eyes on him. Right now, no one's trustworthy.Hours later, the hidden group had come to pay their respects. We talked about plans for the future. Soon, the hidden group would reveal their identity in the Mafia community. I can't wait for the su
