Lahat ng Kabanata ng Rise Of The Hidden Heiress: Kabanata 281 - Kabanata 290

~Allister~“I’ve broken up with Jess,” I announced to my immediate family, which includes my mom, Grandma Regi, and my uncle.Everybody looks visibly sad about the news, everybody but my Grandmother. “This is really bad,” my uncle sighs. “I wonder how she’s coping. The breakup must have really broken her heart. Did you have to do it, Alpha Allister?”I nod, “It would have been sad to insist on being with her while her entire family is against it. Also, their concern is… understandable. She’s been exposed to danger, and it’s all because of me.”“You see why I was preaching against that she-wolf?” Grandma Regi begins to speak. “I told you she's not Luna material. She’s not the one for you, but you kept insisting on sticking to her like glue.” Grandma Regi says.“Neither she nor her family understands what an honor it is to have you ask her to be your Luna. So, if both of you had mated and there's a little challenge in the Pack, will Hamit-Beta Callahan rush in and ask you to dissolve t

“Look,” I say calmly, “Aldine told me last night. Aggs said you gave her a few weeks off, and she wanted to make extra cash while away from work. I only found out the real story from you moments ago.” “Agnes told you that, and you didn't think to tell me?”“She told Aldine, not me.”“Aldine, you-what's the difference?” He asks in a raised voice. “The truth is you knew something and held it back from me.”Pissed as fuck, he leans forward. “You do know that if she decides to speak to Thomas Maclewin about my entanglement with Tania and the things I said to her, it will affect Smith and Agary, right?”“Jules, calm down.” I begin to say. “Agnes isn't like that. She-”“What are you even saying?” he interrupts me. “Thomas Maclewin called her his woman right in front of me. They're probably dating, or about to. If she tells him, it won't be funny.”“Did you know Thomas liked her before you went ahead to open up on your personal matter?” I ask him.“Does it really matter?”“It absolutely mat

Later in the evening, my phone began to ring incessantly.Jolting me from my numb state, I glance at the screen. It's a call from my father. He’s been calling for a couple of days now, but I’ve just not had the heart to pick up his calls until now.But after my call with Allister earlier, I’ve figured it's high time I move on and maybe finally let my dear father know that his son-in-law-to-be has broken our engagement and his dreams of being the Luna’s father have been put to waste.Mustering strength and courage, I answer. “Papa?” “Sweetheart,” my father’s voice is gentle but strained. “How are you, baby?”I let out a fake chuckle, “I’m-I’m good. How are you? And Sarah and my baby brother?”“Ah, so, you’ve concluded that it's going to be a brother, have you?”“Oh yes,” I smile, the closest to the real thing I’ve had on my face in a very long time. “He’s going to be a baby boy, Papa.”“I believe you, sweetheart.” He replies. “Sarah keeps asking when you’ll come home. She misses you.

I stare at the half-finished leave application on my desk and rub my temples.Stepping away from Ashmere city is the right thing to do. It's either that or I wallow in hurt and maybe eventually fall into depression.I haven't slept properly in days because every time I close my eyes, I see my Allister.I sigh and glance out the window overlooking the hospital grounds and slowly release a breath.I haven't made up my mind yet. I know I'm leaving. That part is certain. What I don't know is whether I'll stay in Pasos with my family permanently or eventually return to Ashmere city.I slowly lower my eyes back to the document and start to move my pen again, filling up the blanks.A soft knock sounds on the door before it opens. Stephanie walks in carrying two takeaway cups."Coffee delivery," she announces.A faint smile tugs at my lips. "You're becoming too sweet, Steph.""Good sweet or bad sweet?""Good sweet."She grins and places one cup in front of me. "Extra cream.""You're officiall

The faint light of dawn creeps through my bedroom window as I sit by it, staring into nothing.I managed only brief moments of dozing all through last night. Each time I closed my eyes, haunting dreams of Allister deserting me always pulled me back into consciousness. In one of the dreams, I cried. The tears felt real, burning my cheeks as they fell. And I woke with actual tears on my face with my wolf, Arina, whimpering in my head, her distress echoing through our bond. She hasn’t exactly weaned completely of the wolfsbane gas from when I was kidnapped. But she’s way better than before. As I sit at the window, staring into nothingness, tears slip down my cheeks.I quickly wipe them away with my trembling fingers.A gentle knock on the door interrupts my misery. “Miss White? Are you awake? It’s time for breakfast.”Emelda’s kind voice carries through my bedroom door. I quickly pat my face dry and open the door. Emelda’s worried eyes take in my appearance. “Did you sleep well, Miss
