🖱️Sammy🖱️“One week, Sammy. One whole week your father has been in that state and you don’t think it was okay to bring him back home?”My mama’s voice echoed through the hall so loud the guards outside stiffened.I have seen my mama angry before. This was not anger. This was fear dressed up as anger. The healers were already around my father as she yelled at me. The scent of herbs filled the air. Ancient chants hummed under their breath. Black smoke curled from the bowls placed around his bed. They were doing everything they could.Jane had already left. The moment we crossed into our territory and the healers took over, she said she needed to return. She didn’t even argue. Just gave me a look like be strong and vanished. So now it was just me.Me and my mama. And a king lying unconscious in the center of the room.“Mama,” I said carefully, trying to keep my tone steady, “it was only two days in the human world. Two days. And he was attended to by a human doctor.”I stepped closer,

🖱️Jayden🖱️“Ok that enough, I will go pack so we can leave.”I said it like I was calm, like this was just another normal day and not me about to drive back into a world that currently hates me. Victor was sitting on the bed watching me with that unreadable expression of his, like he could tell I was lowkey spiraling but decided not to call me out on it.I stood up before I could change my mind and went straight to my room. I didn’t even pause in the hallway. If I paused, I would think. And if I thought too much, I would probably start questioning everything including my life choices.I pulled out a bag and started packing. Clothes first. Simple stuff. Nothing dramatic. Then the important things. The weapons I can still use without my powers courtesy of my papa. Extra cash even when I know I will never make use of it. Charger. The little things that make you feel prepared even when you’re not. Folding my shirts felt heavier than it should. Not because of weight. Because this trip is

🖱️Victor🖱️ I know he doesn’t trust me. Not the way you trust someone with your back turned and your eyes closed. He watches me sometimes like he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. Like he expects me to wake up one day and remember I’m supposed to be the villain in his story. But that doesn’t matter right now. Because today was the most fun I have ever had in my entire life. And that’s not something I say lightly. Where I come from, fun is rare. People don’t relax around me. They don’t joke too loudly. They don’t challenge me to stupid games under neon lights. They fear me. Respect me. Avoid eye contact. That’s the usual. But here? No one was scared of me. They didn’t know what I was. They didn’t feel the heat under my skin or the power coiled in my veins. To them, I was just some guy dancing badly in an arcade beside someone who clearly enjoyed embarrassing me. I danced in public. For the first time in my life. And I didn’t hate it. I glanced at Jayden as we stepped of

🖱️Jayden 🖱️I felt a warm breath on my face before I fully woke up. My eyes were still shut and my brain halfway floating somewhere between sleep and whatever dream I was having, but my body reacted on instinct. I moved fast. Faster than I thought I could without my powers. My hand shot up and grabbed whoever was hovering over me by the neck, fingers tightening before I even processed what I was doing. The car jerked slightly as brakes were hit.“Jayden,” a strained voice said, calm but tight. “It’s me.”My eyes snapped open.Victor.Right.We’re in the car and on the road. Not under attack or ambushed.Just parked somewhere quiet because we drove half the night and I passed out mid argument about music.I immediately let go like I had just touched fire.“Are you insane?” I snapped, my heart still racing like I just fought for my life.He rubbed his neck slowly, looking more offended than hurt. “You almost crushed my throat.”“You were hovering over me like a sleep paralysis demon,

🖱️Jayden🖱️The engine vibrated as Victor pulled the car back onto the road, sunrise stretching across the sky like the world was pretending nothing messy ever happened. My heart was still stuck in that almost kiss. My brain was replaying it like it wanted to torture me on purpose. He kept his eyes on the road for a while. Quiet. The kind of quiet that isn’t peaceful. The kind that thinks.I leaned my head back against the seat and stared at the windshield. Trees blurred past. The world moving forward whether I was ready or not.“I love you.”He said it so casually I almost missed it.No build up. Just there. Dropped between us like it had been sitting in his chest for hours.I turned my head slowly. “Hmm. You’ve said that before.”He didn’t look at me this time. Just tightened his grip on the steering wheel slightly.“And I meant it every time.”I studied his profile. Strong jaw. Calm expression. That controlled prince face he wears when he doesn’t want to show weakness.“It’s just

🖱️Victor🖱️ Pain is loud. That is the first thing I understood the moment we hit the ground. Rolling out of a burning car while shielding the one person you would rather die than lose is not cinematic the way people imagine. It is ugly. Gravel cuts into your skin. Your shoulder slams against hard earth. Your ribs protest like they want to crack open and file a complaint. My whole body was in pain from the jumping and rolling, but I did not care about that. I only cared about one thing. Jayden breathing. My blue fire still wrapped around him, flickering and alive, keeping the enemy flames away from his skin. I could feel the heat of the attack, smell the smoke, hear the crackling metal behind us. The car was gone. Completely swallowed. They are here for him again. The realization did not surprise me. It just confirmed what I already feared. Jayden stepped slightly to the side despite my arm trying to hold him back, stubborn even when the world is trying to kill him. I

🖱️Jayden🖱️I hate my life.I hate my life so very much. That was the only thing looping in my head as I stared at Victor standing there, trying so hard not to fall apart while blood kept running down his back like it had somewhere important to be.We were in the middle of nowhere. No houses. No help. Just burnt metal behind us, three bodies in the distance, and the smell of smoke hanging in the air like a reminder that peace is not allowed near me.Everywhere I go, something breaks.Everyone who stands close to me ends up bleeding. My family. Jane, Sammy. Now him.Victor swayed slightly and tried to pretend he did not.“Hey,” he said, voice strained but still trying to sound normal. “You better not let those tears out.”I blinked fast.Of course he would say that. Of course he would try to joke while an arrow was literally sticking out of his back like this was some kind of action movie and not real life.“I’m not crying,” I muttered.“You’re thinking too loud,” he replied.Even in

🖱️Sammy🖱️One minute I was at home trying to act like everything was under control. The next minute my wolf lost its mind.I was in my father’s room, letting them draw my blood again. Fourth time since we got back. Fourth time watching his face stay pale no matter how much of me they poured into him. The room smelled like medicine and weakness and things I refuse to accept.“Enough for today,” the doctor said carefully.I nodded but I was not really listening. Because something else was rising inside me. It started like a tremor under my skin. Easy to ignore. Then it wasn’t.My wolf snapped up so violently it felt like someone screamed inside my skull.Jayden. No voice said it.But I knew. The bond hit me hard, like someone grabbed my spine and yanked it. My pulse spiked. The air in that room suddenly felt wrong. He was in trouble.I stood up so fast the chair behind me fell over.“My prince?” one of the nurses called.I was already walking out.Actually no.Running.I did not expla

🖱️Jayden🖱️I need both of them. I mean practically. Logically. Survival mode activated type of way.We are in the middle of nowhere. My sense of direction is trash. If you spin me around twice I will end up walking into a tree. I do not know safe houses. I do not know who is tracking me. I do not even know what half of my powers can do to them yet or my way around this supernatural world. But I know this.Sammy knows instincts. Victor knows strategy. And I am apparently the glowing prize everyone wants to steal. So yes. I need my two mates. And they better figure out how to act like grown men and not competitive toddlers because we do not have time for ego right now.Sammy helped me into his car like I had just survived a war, which technically I did, but still.“I can walk,” I said.“I know,” he replied calmly, one hand steady on my back anyway. “But you almost collapsed earlier.”“I did not collapse.”“You almost did.”“That is not the same thing.”He opened the back door and guid

🖱️Victor🖱️The second I stepped out of the car with Jayden beside me, I already knew this was about to turn into a territorial disaster. The building stood tall behind us, quiet and secure. My space. My rules. My territory.Sammy shut the car door like he had every intention of following us in.I looked at him calmly.“You can leave now,” I said.He did not even hesitate. “You wish.”I inhaled slowly. “Listen, snow coward, this is my apartment and I do not want you here.”Jayden made a small tired sound behind me, which I chose to ignore because this was important.Sammy walked around the car and came to Jayden’s side like I had not spoken at all.He ignored me.Ignored me.Then he placed a steady hand on Jayden’s back and started helping him toward the entrance. The disrespect.“Did you not hear me?” I asked.“I heard you,” he replied casually. “I just do not care.”I swear if Jayden was not standing between us, I would have tested his reflexes right there in the parking lot.Jayde
