Lahat ng Kabanata ng Nothing Has Ever Changed: Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Exactly.Eden was his wife; she wasn't going to just disappear. There was nothing worth panicking about. She was busy working at the orphanage. Surely that would explain why she had been taking so long to reply. He was reassured by Amelie’s remark and relaxed visibly. He heaved a long sigh before turning to Amelie with a look of guilt in his eyes.“Amelie, if you behave and keep to yourself, I promise to give you anything. The only thing I can’t give you is to take you as one of my family.“But don’t ever forget that you must never appear in front of Eden."Later that night, Amelie started to vomit constantly again. It was almost daybreak when her condition stabilized.Cedric looked clearly exhausted by then because he had hardly gotten a wink of sleep all night. Despite that, he wanted to go home immediately. He could not get over the discomfort of still not having met Eden. Before going home, he had his assistant deliver a piece of jewelry he had purchased ahead of time.It

The moment Cedric was given the location, the first thing on his mind was to go searching for Eden.Just as he was about to leave, Mateo suddenly popped out of nowhere and wrapped himself around his leg.Cedric hissed at him to let go, but all that only made Mateo hold tighter. He shouted relentlessly, “Daddy, Amelie is in the hospital!“She just called me and was crying on the phone while saying sorry. I even heard someone talking about getting an abortion. Could you please check on Amelie? What if something happens to her?“Don't worry about Mommy, she'll be fine. It’s Amelie we need to worry about. I don’t want her to do something reckless!”Mateo proceeded to show Cedric a screenshot from a video call he had with Amelie. Her eyes in the picture were red and swollen from crying. There was a hint of frailness about her, with her lips tightly pressed together to restrain the sobs from coming out.She looked just like Eden. One glance at her was enough to stir feelings inside

That night, Eden received countless messages.“Eden, I get that you’re angry with me, so I won’t upset you any further. I just want you to know that I’ll be waiting downstairs until you're willing to see me and let me apologize to you in person.“Remember to drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed. I know you’re a light sleeper, so make sure to put on your usual eye mask so you won't wake up in the middle of the night.“It's getting cold. Look after the old injury on your foot and try taking a hot foot soak before sleeping.“Do you want anything for breakfast? I'll get it for you, alright? What about lunch? I know you're busy with work, so I'll get someone to deliver food for you.“Eden…”Messages with the same sentiment kept pouring in. Eden only glanced at them before dismissing them entirely. She drew the curtains to block out the intent pair of eyes staring up into her room downstairs. She slept very well that night. The next morning, she departed for the orphanage

Upon exiting the car, Eden shook her bruised hands to get some feeling back in them. Then, she pulled her sleeves down to cover the marks out of fear of alarming the adopters. After that, she had a short exchange with them before excusing herself. With that, they parted ways. She continued to ignore Cedric, who was waiting for her in his car. Then, she hailed a taxi to go home. That night, Cedric appeared at her door again. After knocking on the door, he quickly scuttled off just before Eden opened it.When Eden opened the door, she saw a present, a pack of medicine, and a bouquet of flowers left on the floor. There was a card slipped inside the bouquet. It was the exhaustive repetition of apology, promise of repentance, and plea for forgiveness. He capped it off with a request for them to get remarried. She briefly scanned the contents before putting them back in place. With that, she ignored them, closed the door, and settled in for the night. After getting a good night's slee

Eden’s volume was moderate, but it was loud enough for the people nearby to hear her.Upon realizing that she was not a homewrecker, the people who preemptively judged her quickened their footsteps to excuse themselves from the scene. After the crowd dispersed, Eden saw no reason to stay either.Especially not with Cedric around. She acted as if she did not notice the affection in Cedric's puppy eyes. With that, she stepped back and shut the gate right in his face. Before leaving, she reminded him one last time, “Cedric, don't come looking for me anymore.“I’m sure you know I won’t change my mind.”She was not the type to harbor regret after making a decision.Cedric must be aware of this as well. There was a desolate look of remorse in his eyes from being rejected. It looked like he was about to faint. He tried to say something, but Eden had already turned away and vanished from his sight. Despite how much he called after her, she would not turn back.Left without a choice,
